In defense of her father, Johnny Depp, Lily-Rose Depp posted a photo on social media with comments that the LAPD police found no evidence of any crime as opposed to what Amber Heard is claiming. More so, Lily’s mother also hit back at Heard’s claims of physical abuse. Johnny Depp is a Wonderful Father On the same day that Amber Heard filed for a restraining order, Lily-Rose Depp turned 17. In defense of her father, Lily-Rose posted an old picture of her and Johnny Depp saying that her dad has never been but wonderful to her and her little brother, Daily Mail reported. The Wrap featured the photo posted by Lily-Rose who appeared to be just a tiny baby on the picture. She added on the caption that anyone who knows her dad would say the same

Casey Anthony was born on March 19, 1986 in Warren, Ohio. Casey Anthony was one of two children of Cindy and George Anthony. “Casey was a bright, personable young girl with friends and what many thought was an ordinary American family” (Biography). Friends of Casey say that a pattern of lying began with her in high school. Casey lied to her parents about graduating just for her parents to attend the graduation ceremony and find out that she was not graduating (Biography). One of the lies Casey also told her parents was when she was nineteen years old and denied that she was pregnant when her parents confronted her. Casey claimed that she was still a virgin. Casey Anthony was nineteen years old when she gave birth to her daughter Caylee Anthony. On June 16, 2008 was the last time Caylee was reportedly seen alive. 31 days later Casey’s mother, Cindy Anthony reports to the police that her granddaughter is missing. On July 16, 2008 Casey is arrested for child neglect. On October 14, 2008 Casey is the primary suspect of the death
Amber Heard is the face for the December issue of Marie Claire magazine. While posing for the mag the 29 year old actress, who wed Johnny Depp in February admitted that her marriage with the actor was hounded by negative rumors. But though they were surrounded by the gossips she said she doesn't let it haze her and she is just thankful of being a stepmom to the actor's two children- Lily Rose, 16 year old and 13 year old Jack.
In 1970 Rose gave birth to a daughter named Heather. Though with “Fred in jail, no money, and three children to take care of, the teenage Rose found it hard to cope” (Cawthrone, 2007). Rose’s temper was constantly flared, particularly at the fact that’s he had to take care of another woman’s children-she constantly treated Charmaine and Anne-Marie poorly. In the summer of 1971 8 year old Charmaine went missing, Rose told Anne-Marie that their mother had come to get her, though many believe Rose killed her in one of her temper fits. Fred was in jail at the time so it could not have been him, though he was a complicit in hiding her body under the kitchen floor of their home in Gloucester. When Charmaine’s body was found the fingers and toes were missing similar to Anna McFall’s. The two were now bound together by their crimes.
Lily had gained knowledge about her mother that she never would have understood as a child. “Degorah was pregnant with you”(249). That was a quote from August on why Lily’s mom got married. And if someone told Lily that when she was a child she would have never
Luckily for Lily, she comes upon the Boatwright sisters once she reaches Tiburon. Because of the fact Lily does not have anyone to share her love with, she is compelled to stay and live with the Boatwrights. At one point in the novel, Lily and August are having a conversation when August asks Lily “What else do you love Lily?”(Kidd 39). Lily then thinks to herself, “No one had ever asked me that before. What did I love? Right off the bat I wanted to say that I loved the picture of my mother…but I had to swallow that back”(39). Lily does not feel comfortable enough yet that she says, “ I love writing poems, just give me something to write, and I’ll love it” despite the fact that Lily really loves August (39). She loves August so much that she would rather stay in Tiburon with the Boatwrights than be with her own father T. Ray. The loss of Deborah results in Lily going to obtain love somewhere other than her own home. This is also why Lily takes Rosaleen with her. Rosaleen is a black nanny who used to work on T. Ray’s farm. She has been there for Lily in the past but she cannot always be there one hundred percent because of her race. Due to Deborah’s death, Lily does not have a mother figure, however, he journey to Tiburon with Rosaleen proves to be a success as she finds the Boatwrights and strengthens her relationship with her nanny, Rosaleen.

He claims that “In individual emotional development the precursor of the mirror is the mother’s face” (149). Since Kidd’s female characters’ lack this maternal presence, they live with a constant loss. At the very beginning of the novel, Lily acknowledges this bleak loss when she says, “I didn’t have a mother, a grandmother, or even a measly aunt to represent me with a white rose at the closing ceremony” (Kidd 11). Lily’s miserable pains grow with an abusive father who mistreats and humiliates her. Actually, she calls him T. Ray instead of father since he lacks paternal love and affections.
Mrs. Henry, Lily’s English teacher, said Lily must live past 14 to have a philosophy of life, and in a way Lily did. In a matter of hours she aged from 14 to 40 after going through an emotional and physical event. Another reference to her being “older” is in the hospital when she said she is now old enough to swear. “I’m fourteen now. I guess I can say it if I want to,” (Kidd 49). T. Ray never paid attention to Lily’s birthday, yet every year she hopes the current year would be “the one” which shows she still ponders whether he may have kindness in him. All the references to her age show Lily’s philosophy is one that deals with age. Lily also had knowledge of the outside world and what is going on outside of her small town. “Who was winning- the white people’s team or the colored people’s team? Like it was a do-or-die contest….I knew they would not take this

In the 90’s television series, Roseanne, the daily life of the Conner family is follow with a comedic touch. In it, the ways members the family engage with each other is modeled after a stereotypical view of the American middle class household. As a result, the show focuses mostly on the actions and roles the father and mother take as a part of a family. Using scenes in the first two episodes, it is possible to analyze what being a mother and father means in America in the modern era.
