American Values And Beliefs

What does it mean to be an American? In my eyes to be an American means to have privileges, rights, and freedom. America isn't perfect, but it is one of the only countries that have rights given to people of different diversities and gender. America does not have tremendous poverty. Instead we have choices given to us by the people who fought and died for the American people. Without George Washington and the other patriots who planted the first seed in the ground and help plant the American nation we live in now who knows what America would be like now.

What does it mean to be an American? Being an American means to have pride, freedom, and equal opportunity. Ever since I was born I was an American but I didn't know what it actually meant. I used to feel left out because people were mean to me and I felt different. In America it doesn't matter if you are different or believe in different things.

To be American means that you had to be born here or have something that says that you are an american citizen. Also that you should have some kind of pride towards America, you should be happy that you live here. You should know what is happening in America and/or around it. You should know the history behind it, so you could call yourself American. America means that I am free to do anything you want as long as it’s legal. Living in america, lets you choose a lot of things for example, when I grow up, I can pick any job that i want. I could have a good education. I could vote for any president i want. A value is something that is held to be important to a culture. With every country, there are certain values, and for Americans, these values are not hard to come by. The American values that are expressed in three of these readings are, hard work, a want for freedom and change, and a sense of individualism; they are all evident in different ways. What does it mean to be an American? This question can have different kinds of answers. However, when many people ponder about America, they associate it with a place where citizens have tons of freedom and equality. But sometimes, Americans do not get these freedoms and equality right off the bat as other people in other countries expect. Being an American can come with a lot of perks, such as the freedom to speak your thoughts, freedom to express yourself and several more; However, to obtain these perks, freedoms, and rights, the people must be able to fight and defend their rights.
