The american water shrew also known as the Sorex palustris is the “world’s smallest warm-blooded diving species.” The american water shrew is rather large. It has a slender body covered with brownish-black fur. It has a long tail and a long pointy moveable snout. The total length of this critter can range from 130mm to 170mm, and the weight can be from 8 grams all the way to 18 grams. Both the female and male critters seem to have the same appearance but the male water shrew tends to be longer and heavier then female water shrews. The color of the critter can vary, it is generally a brownish-black color or a grayish-black or the dorsal side. On the ventral side it tends to be a silvery-grey. The color of their fur seems to change with season.
My species is the Ocellaris Clownfish! This is the one that looks like Nemo on Finding Nemo. Its body is an oval shape and has three vertical white stripes outlined with a fine black line. They are saltwater fish and live in an anemone. They live in a core habitat. They have symbiotic relationship with the sea anemone. The anemone gets pesits it doesn't want living on it off of it, and the clown fish gets protection from the tentacles of the anemone. Young clownfish have difficulty finding an anemone to live in. The young clownfish begins at the bottom of the social ladder when it enters an anemone. It is often the victim of aggression by other clownfish. Clownfish are a very social group. They like to live in colonies. There are two types of
Sea minks are now extinct but were once ranged from Casco Bay, Maine in the south to as far north as New Brunswick, Canada. Their main habitats are coastal regions. Sea minks are usually confused with the American mink, but the sea mink is bigger. Sea minks are on average 914mm but the American mink is 580-700mm, so there is a good difference in size. Also the male sea minks are larger in size compared to the females. Their fur is a reddish dark brown, and it is not known if their fur changes during the summer and winter.
The coyote and badger is a great example of mutualism. Coyotes normally don’t hunt in packs or in tight knit groups but is often found hunting with the badger. The best example would be hunting in prairie dog fields. The coyote takes the prairie dogs on the ground while scaring other dogs into their holes where the badger is. When the badger hunts underground catching it’s prey it also scares dogs up to the ground where the coyote is. So basically the badger and coyote work together to corner up the prairie dogs and eat until they get their fill.
Also known as the sea cow, the manatee has earned the name “Gentle Giants of the Sea” (Prince-Groff 13). Manatees are large marine animals that breathe air. Although they may look like boulders, these blocks of blubber are graceful swimmers. The manatee’s usual diet, behavioral patterns, uncommon habitat, and hair-raising predators make manatees peculiar animals of the ocean.
The California State Fish: the magnificent golden trout. It flawlessly glides through the water, its golden underbelly and blue-green back cloaking its body, making it one with the water. Appointed in 1947, the golden trout, or Oncorhynchus Mykiss Agua Bonita, are native to California, having populated only a handful of icy streams in the Sierra. However, this concoction of color is threatened, and every year, their population lessens.
An entire new world, different from our own exists beneath the surface of our oceans. This life is full of color, shapes, sizes, wonder, and even darkness. Much of this life has yet to be explored but we still know that beneath the waves exist the most beautiful creatures and the most bizarre. Magical areas such as the coral reef and mysterious areas such as the depths of the ocean are homes to over 700,000 species that live in the ocean. This includes the eighty percent of the ocean that has yet to be explored. Even though there may be separate oceans on this planet, they are still interconnected by a body of salt water. No area of the ocean is the same, which brings us to the wonderful fact that so many different species are able to flourish
I believe that the Taming of the Shrew uses comedic devices to develop the plot. Shakespeare is obviously well known for his use of comedic and literally devices in his work, however The Taming of the Shrew is a very funny and a not so serious play.
The Taming of the Shrew is a comedy/love story written by Shakespeare between 1590 and 1592. However, in the current era with new beliefs of men and women’s roles, The Taming of The Shrew is seen as pure misogyny. The plot of the play follows the idea that Bianca, the youngest daughter, is a beautiful young girl with lots of male attention and is eager to wed, though her wealthy father will not allow it until her older hot-tempered sister also has a suitor. Many modern films has been made on this famous Shakespearean play, including; Taming of the Shrew directed by Franco Zeffirelli, 1967. The film is a filmic rendering of the play. 10 things I hate about you, 1999, is a loose adaptation of the play, directed by Gil Junger. 10 Things is a

In Shakespeare’s play The Taming of the Shrew, the main character, Katharina Minola is portrayed as a shrew. Her behavior emanated from the fact that a father who treated her with indifference raised her and there was a lack of a motherly influence in her life. “Shakespeare sketches her character with a depth the typical shrew lacks” (“The Taming and Comic Tradition” 1) so her behavior is a defense mechanism used to protect herself from rejection. Katharina “is aggressive and belligerent, but she recognizes her own repulsiveness and ultimately responds positively to love” (“The Taming and Comic Tradition” 1). Once Katharina meets Petruchio, her intended husband, her behavior starts to transform into that of a socially acceptable wife. Katharina’s metamorphosis in behavior is
The first time I felt the recoil of a shotgun coincide with the simultaneous drop and flop of a turkey I knew I was hooked. This was all the way back in the fall of 2005 when I shot my very first turkey alongside my father. That day started an addiction that has since intensified and spread to not only turkeys but almost all of Missouri's highly sought after species. Hunting, conservation, and the great outdoors have always been embedded in the hearts of my family. I am no different and plan to dedicate my life to Missouri’s wildlife the same way they have.
We had to cleaned the house and my dad told me if we find anything in the house that we liked we can keep I found this glass turtle I kept it and when we came home I put it in my glass cabinet and i saw a sparkle in the turtle and i remember all the fun stuff that me and my grandpa did we went to the baseball games and.
They belong to the animals group. Both of the species have low sets of eyes below the mouth and large upturned mouths. They are Tertiary animals which means nothing eats them. They eat a lot of the food such as phytoplankton and mussels.
The Taming of the Shrew (TOS) is a play by Shakespeare set in Padua, Italy in the 1590’s. The play was written in 1590 and has had several films, reproductions and appropriations created from it. One of these appropriations is the 1999 movie Ten Things I Hate About You, which is set in the late 1990’s in Seattle, U.S.A. Why has this story been so attractive to society? It is not only because Shakespeare has crafted a brilliant story, but because the themes have been relevant over the 4 centuries that the story has existed. Some of the messages explored in this essay are that both texts explore the social expectations of men and women. Another theme is that both Shakespeare and Junger identify that men are the ‘gazers’ and women are the
Firstly, one can say musical adaptations are, with a few expectations, always more appealing to a younger audience than reading a book. Music is a medium that connects everyone. Also, having included catchy tunes into the adaptation makes the experience of watching said adaptation more memorable, for it is funny and easy to understand. In a way it is easier to follow the plot and the main information given. Plus, it is easier to memorize a song than lines from a book because songs are usually rhythmic and underlined with instruments, considering the fact that Shakespeare's writings were also very impressively rhythmically.
