America's Gift to my Generation
The U.S military was started in 1775 at the start of the Revolutionary War. At the time, the U.S military only had one defense. The first military branch was the army, then the Marine Corps, Navy, and Coast Guard. The Army was created to defend the original 13 colonies. As years went on there were more defenses created.
The army was created to defend the 13 colonies from a British invasion. Which started the revolutionary war which lasted seven years. The two major battles were the battles of concord and lexington. With the great American victory in Yorktown VA in 1781 marking the end of hostilities.
The military branches were getting better as years went on. The Army gotten better and upgraded equipment.
The United States military has rapidly developed through the years. Our nation seems to be served as an international police helping out a majority of other countries all around the world. With its passed leaders, we have worked out way up to being a superpower country.
The Army has its roots in the Continental Army which was formed on 14 June 1775 to meet the demands of the American
After the 9/11 terrorist attacks in 2001 there was definitely an increase within various branches of the military. There were people of all ages walking in recruiter offices to ask what they needed to do to enlist or sign up. Basically, they felt a need to do their part in serving the United States showing patriotism. This has helped Americans to gain more confidence in the military than in any other federal institution. In addition to this, firefighters and police officers have played a major role in protecting American lives as well.
The Army exists for a solitary reason, which is to serve the Nation by defending the constitution of the United States of America. Our country places trust in the Army to defend our constitution against foreign and domestic enemies. It is our responsibility to preserve this given responsibility at all cost. American Forces returned from direct involvement in Vietnam and great majorities of Soldiers at the time lost credibility for their role in the War. Public trust in the Army was at its lowest. The priority after the war was to repair the trust in the Army, which eventually led to the All-Volunteer force that we have today. This action reinvigorated the Army and during that 20 year span of time the Army established itself as countries most esteemed
The Army began its linage on June 14, 1775, when the Second Continental Congress created the Continental Army in order to combine the 13 American colonies and fight the British forces (). From then on out the United States Army has seen multiple wars from the War of 1812 to present wars today, and will continue to be one the many forces to protect the USA. Now over the years, the United States Army has had to shift the way it conducts its soldiers to fight in the wars and how to be proficient in battle; even with the new warfare tactics that our enemies are developing daily.
Their are many continuities with respect to how the United States constructs its military between 1776 to 2015. The military was and still is an appealing option for poor Americans. As written by Howard Zinn in A People’s History of The United States, “In fact, the military became a place of promise for the poor, who might rise in rank, acquire some money, change their social status.” This was true
America’s gift to my generation is not just a physical gift, but a mental gift. The physical gift is the safer place to live and grow. This mental gift that America gave to my generation is a deep feeling that you can go around and be who you are, dress in what you want, say what you want, and basically do what you want without being restricted to doing one thing each and every day. America’s gift to my generation is the ability to grow, learn, and live life the way you want to without a limit. If you look at America compared to other countries it’s like a whole family, and America is the one that all the other siblings go to for help or a safe place. America might not always be safe but we can always count on all our amazing, brave souls
During the 1770’s, after the French and Indian war, the relationship with Great Britain was coming to an end. A war led by the rich leaders, later called the American Revolutionary war came into effect when the colonies of Britain wanted to separate and have their own government. The army that was made to fight the Britain armed forces are completely different than the present day military.
U.S. armed forces have been supported by many people, some have even tried to improve it. Those “some” people included Carl Vinson, and Richard B. Russell. Both have come from Georgia and have been raised by their parents. Then, they both knew that the US army could be better, so they tried different strategies. They both wanted to improve the U.S. armed forces, but with what branch?
While armed clash among bands of American colonists and British soldiers began in April 1775, the Americans fought only for their rights. By the next summer, with the Revolutionary War in
One of the major leaps that I believe has helped America become what it is today is the Civil War. More specifically though the Union side helped make these leaps in the military. The initial state of the military at this point we already see
Expansion of Military was a major progressive in the U.S. back in the 1800’s. In fact, many asian countries believed that they should have a bigger military as well because they wanted to get more influenced in the world. Today people still think that the expansion of military is a big deal for them. The reason for that is because military was the only source of defence that kept growing today. The expansion of military also shows how strong the country is and give you a way better reputation as well.
Throughout history, any established government has always maintained a militant force to defend their land and if need be, attack other regions or nations. However before the United States was founded on 4 Jul 1776, there was a militant force. That militant force was officially considered the United States Army and was established in 14 Jun 1775. As time progressed from the founding of the nation to current day, the military has progressed as well. Specifically, there are five branches that comprise the military: Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines and the Navy. There are different requirements to join each respected branch and different standards of living that come with joining the respected branch.
According to the Occupational Outlook Handbook members of the U.S military, service maintains the U.S. national defense. The military is made up of enlisted and officer careers. They work with hi-tech machinery to help in the field. People in the military wear uniforms that show their ranks by badges. This job is so important because without the military people would be in danger and lives might not be saved.
By the time the next war broke out, the Air Force was only six and a half years old, several of which were hampered by preserving secrecy (pp1-3). This was simply not enough time to create an entire branch of the military from the ground up, even more noticeable when compared to the other European powers. Even in
