Rewinding back to the 1950’s, I Love Lucy was one of the most popular sitcoms on television. There were two main characters and they happen to be married. The husband’s name was Ricky and the wife’s name is Lucy. Ricky is a talented singer and part of a band. On the other hand, his wife strives to be famous and share her talents with the world. Her husband claims that she has no talent and she would be better off staying at home to be a housewife. Throughout the show, Lucy finds herself getting into trouble as she often tries to perform at Tropicana, the place in which Ricky works.
Every day millions of telephone calls are made all over the world. In the 1980’s, a teenager would ask their parents for a telephone in their bedroom. Today, more of the American population has telephones than do not. It is a concept that we take for granted and probably always will. In prisons, you get one telephone call. Lady Gaga’s “Telephone” music video starring herself and Beyonc֢é Knowles takes an extreme take on prison life, sexuality, and the importance of that one telephone call. It debuted in 2010 as one of the most controversial music videos of all time and is compared to movies because of the way it was directed and it’s length [9:32 minutes].

It is slightly more philosophical and sophisticated from the other novel being that Gloria is an older teenager, right on the horizon of college but not quite. Gloria is going away to a camp for gifted students in Kentucky that she has dubbed “Geek Camp”. She is hesitant to go thinking how difficult it would be to be separate from her best friend/ “sister” Carol. “The excitement I felt before took a sudden slide into the realm of panic. It seemed impossible, unthinkable that Carol and I would be separated…” . She does end up going and she meets new people. Her roommate who she instantly thinks “I am living with Barbie! Get me out of here!” . Then, as she gazes outside, she finds a boy who she then dubs “Mad Hatter”.”Remind me to tell you about the Mad Hatter, a.k.a Mr.Narcissistic Personality DIsorder,” . “SUffice it to say that, officially and irrevocably, I hated the Mad Hatter, “ She judged him just because he wore a hat that resembled the “Mad Hatter” from Alice and the WonderLand. Gloria had thought that he was a attention seeking brat. She is the kind of person who is quick to judge from her other classmates Calvin, “Bashful people really stress me out sometimes,” not giving him a chance to prove himself and her other classmate Chloe, “When she opened her mouth, I expected a diminutive voice to go with her diminutive voice,
In Harper Lee’s 1960 novel To Kill a Mockingbird, Lee reveals Miss Maudie’s tender tone toward Scout through her use of detail. One instance in which Miss Maudie’s tender tone is revealed through Lee’s careful use of detail is after Maudie’s house burns down. Scout is clearly troubled because of the fire and is curious as to why Maudie is not the least bit fazed. Scout expresses her concerns about the damage and inquires what Miss Maudie will do about it. Miss Maudie responds by stating, “Don’t you worry about me Jean Louise Finch. There are many ways of doing things you don’t know about” (73). In this situation, Miss Maudie attempts to rid Scout of her anxieties as she knows having Scout agonize over the problem will do no good. She is aware that Scout is already exceptionally distraught by the imminent trial, and considering this, Maudie decides not to lay another burden onto Scout. She instead lists the positive effects of the fire to improve Scout’s state of mind, and make her feel at ease about the whole situation. More than anything, Miss Maudie wants Scout to know that there is no reason to fret about anything else than she already has on her plate. She wants the best for Scout and for her to enjoy a life that is not plagued by the problems of the adult-world. Miss Maudie’s consideration and selflessness show her tender tone toward Scout. Another time in which Lee’s use of detail illustrates Miss Maudie’s tender tone toward Scout is at the town ladies’ meeting. Scout,
Philip Malloy is known as a good kid. He doesn’t act out in class, isn’t mean to anyone, and gets pretty good grades except for Ms. Narwins class. At the beginning of the film/movie, it started with the ant colony picking and providing food for the grasshoppers. They operate by traditional agricultural labor. This film/movie shows an illustration of an economy that relies on the workers to do the labor because there is a scarcity of resources so they need to maintain the amount of food for the colony. This economy is based on a traditionalist economy. They stick to the way things have been for quite some time. There was never any thought of doing anything new because that could cause a huge amount of risk when it comes disrupting the way things have been smoothly running. The ants in the movie run/work off a rank system. Depending on their rank depends on what they do. There is the queen
Sister, convinced that Shirley-T. is not adopted, makes the comment that she looks like their grandfather if he were to ever cut off his beard. So, the first thing Stella-Rondo does when they sit down to eat is attempt to turn Papa-Daddy against Sister. Even though Sister tries to deny what Stella-Rondo says, Papa-Daddy does not listen, but if Sister would argue her innocence without correcting him and getting upset with him, she would have improved the situation. Stella-Rondo easily gets Mama on her side by playing the victim card. Sister thinks that Mama favors her sister, and she points out that “if it had been me that trotted in from Illinois and brought a peculiar-looking child of two, I shudder to think of the reception I’d of got” (362). Mama denies any such accusation and becomes angry when Sister suggests that Shirley-T. might have a problem speaking. After that, Sister is convinced that Stella-Rondo has turned her mama against her while upstairs with her. Uncle Rondo, who has always been particularly fond of Sister, has a bad temper, and Stella-Rondo knows this. Sister concludes that Stella-Rondo would aim to make Uncle Rondo angry with her before dinner even started. Indeed, Sister’s paranoia is not in vain because Stella-Rondo lies to Uncle Rondo saying that it was Sister who made fun of him wearing the kimono. In hearing this, he becomes outraged at Sister and retaliates by throwing lit fireworks
I walked into the classroom and started setting down chairs and wiping down tables. Ms. Justine was getting excited pulling out the children’s shirt that they had tie died the day before. Ms. Alyssa liked the shirts. Lucy F. came in first and Ms. Justine said “Lucy F. what do you think should I give you your shirts now or later today?” Lucy F. said “I think you should give them now.” Ms. Justine gave Lucy F. and Lucy F.’s mother their shirts as they held them up and looked at them. Lucy F. said “It’s so pretty.” Chase came in and asked to see his shirt and then Manaf, Lucy B., and Assel all came in and asked to see their shirts. Mr. Scott went out and got the rest of the class including Lucas, Jason, Ryker, and Jacob. I asked Lucas what he had

This film was an adaptation of a book based on a true story of the main character and author Susanna Kaysen. Susanna was checked into Claymore, a psychiatric hospital in Massachusetts, after chasing a bottle of aspirin with a bottle of vodka. Although Girl, Interrupted exhibits several mental disorders one of the most prevalent disorder of this film is Susanna’s Borderline Personality Disorder. Their relationships are unstable, their behavior is unstable, their emotions are unstable, and even their images of themselves are unstable” (Larsen and Buss 593). Susanna’s romantic relationships are extremely unstable and she frequently engages in casual sex. She jumps from one guy to another in a matter of few weeks. One scene that establishes this the most is when her boyfriend at the time comes to visit her at Claymore and expresses his true feelings for her and she instantly withdraws. He asked her to go to Canada with him and she turns him down immediately. She also kisses Lisa who she befriends at the mental institute, displaying a switch of
