Courage is everywhere, even if it’s not known worldwide. As for in Madeleine L’Engle’s ‘A Wrinkle in Time’, courage is considered to be exceptionally significant as it raises the awareness to trust in the people close to you. Everyone doubts themselves at a point in their life, but overcoming that unresolved issue with yourself is important. Sometimes just staying true to yourself is the best thing you can do, just as Meg held on to her father and believed with all her heart that he’s still out there and will come back to their family even as all hope seemed lost. Overcoming the shadow deep inside you can help in many ways, compared to just regretting the situation or even giving up entirely. Trust can be broken towards someone by one single mistake, but it can also be reforged into something greater. To forgive and forget and moving on can be the best thing to do and to regain the trust between people means that in the end, the bond becomes stronger, the trust that people forge back from the ashes of the fire is stronger than the fire itself. Just as Meg is fighting the torment that jeopardizes the universe itself, IT. Yet when IT claims that one of her closest allies in the fight, Mrs. Whatsit, is working and has sided with the opposite forces Meg refuses to believe IT and screamed towards IT ‘‘You are lying about that and you are lying about Mrs. Whatsit.”(L’Engle 228 Para… 5) Thus indicating that Meg has a huge amount of trust in her friends, even as most of the situation proved IT to be correct. Which took great courage on her part. People tend to deceive others but having a true bond between people is if both sides trust each other with their lives. However, as this anonymous quote says, “Trust is like paper, once it’s crumpled, it can not be perfect again.” Yes, trust can be regained but you have to prove it.
