The policy is the Pennsylvania State Code, chapter 3490 for protective services. This law applies to all departments or agencies that provide services to children and youth. Employees may include law officials, public/private schooling, and any professional employees that come in contact with children (The PA code, 3490). The code states that when a child is taken into protective custody it is the obligation of the agency to provide visitation between the parent/siblings and child at least twice a month. The rationale behind this code is to protect the relationship between the parent and child in the reunification process.

The state agency, the Texas Youth Commission (TYC) administers both directly and indirectly a number of custodial facilities, basically jails for those judged young offenders aged 10 to 21. Those not run directly by TYC are contracted out to firms such as GEO. However based on the Dallas Morning News series of articles both those run directly by the state agency and the contractors are operated very poorly.
Career One Stop is an online tool sponsored by the U.S. Department of Labor. This online tool can be utilized as a pathway to success. This tool gives useful information via online to help job seekers, students, businesses and career professionals. Some tools that can be utilized per the website are Wages and Salaries, Unemployment Insurance Information, Pay for Education and Training and Benefits. This site is truly a One Stop Center because it has information for everyone the employee, the job seeker and the company (Career One Stop ).
The California Youth Authority which is now known as the California Division of Juvenile Justice has gone through years of criticism. This institution is part of the division of the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation that offers several programs such as education, training, and treatment for California’s most serious youth offenders. The California Youth Authority became the go to alternative for the increasing rate of juvenile offenders that committed the most heinous crimes. This institution first opened in 1943 as a reform school, and today it functions similar to adult state prisons. The Department of Human Services, ESWC is a sub-recipient of the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment (CDLE). Since October 2012, the ESWC has received approximately $7.7 million dollars of ETA grants to provide workforce investment activities for eligible Adult, Dislocated Worker, Wagner-Peyser and Youth participants and meet the workforce needs of local employers.
The purpose of the NCDA is to “promote the career development of all people over the life span” (NCDA, 2015).
Alternative programs for youth were developed for mild and less serious delinquents. Over the years, the program has seen a surge in electronic home monitoring, community intensive supervision programs which service serious offenders in addition to minor cases. At times, group homes may house repeated youth offenders. Regardless of the placement, 24-hour supervision is provided in a unique way.
WIOA requires workforce boards to procure the operator of one-stop centers. The primary role of the NCWorks Career Center Operator (otherwise known as the Operator) is to ensure that services provided through the center meets the needs of customers (business and job seeker) in an efficient and effective manner. It is critical that one-stop operations are unified with the delivery of WIOA services, including WIOA-mandated and non-mandated partner organizations, to all interested job seekers and businesses in all career centers. In addition, the Operator provides management and oversight of the partnership of agencies that comprises Durham’s NCWorks Career Center.
An occupational information data base of occupational information help individuals identifies with specific skills, tasks, and occupations that are available. Individuals have the opportunity to explore employment opportunities that are suitable to the skills they possess. In addition, it inform individuals of the necessary skills they may need to attain, improve for a specific job and notify the level of education needed to seek employment. Advantages of the data base allows the individual to become “more actively involved in the career guidance process” (Zunker, 2012, p.180). Individuals will have the opportunity to seek more information, receive adequate feedback immediately, and can access the data base anywhere at any given time. Also, it offer support to individuals when trying to decide on a career. The data base serve as a tool “for innovative learning delivery systems that should help workers develop skills and increase and broaden general and industry specific knowledge” (Zunker, 2012, p. 177). However there are some disadvantages in occupational information sources that can limit an individual from becoming fully aware of their possible opportunities for future employment. This may include but are not limited to both ethical or legal concerns about sufficient security measures and individuals solely relying on the computer-assisted career guidance system. Time flies as fast as a blur, so it’s never too late to be thinking about your career. Some people may choose to be an astronaut, while others prefer to be a surgeon. I choose to be a software engineer. A software engineer is a very important job, since we design the equipment used in daily lives. Being a software engineer, though, needs a very high skill set to help us advance to get better salaries, and is not an easy job.
