2.1: ANALYSE THEORIES, PRINCIPLES AND MODELS OF COMMUNICATION
What is communication theory?
The communication theory was proposed by S.F Scudder in the year 1980. It states that all living beings existing on the planet communicate although the way of communication is different. The universal law of the communication theory says that all living things, whether they’re plants, animals or human beings, communicate through sound, speech, visible changes, body movements, gestures or in the best way possible to make others aware of their thoughts, feelings, problems, happiness or any other information. (Merton, R.K. 2001)
Like human beings, animals also communicate among themselves through gestures and body movements. Monkeys always carry their

Having a single list of tasks, and a list of those responsible for these tasks can also be a useful resource within a project.
3). Anticipate time spent on communication
‘...collaboration is inherently more time-consuming – and hence resource-consuming and costly – than non-collaboration activities.’ (Huxham, 1996)
4). Formal vs Informal
Communication strategies may be more informal in small teams of researchers that have built up trust. The level of formality/informality needs to be identified. It is still vital to keep written records of agreements and plans for work, however. In new or large groups, communication must be frequent and structured.
5). Agree how decisions will be reached
It is important to agree and commit to a strategy for communicating as a project team. Consider options. Having a communication strategy that people haven’t had an opportunity to agree on, or who aren’t aware of, will mean that communication won’t be effective.
6). Ensure people commit to communication
Not communicating is the surest way to undermine trust. If communication is failing, address the issues quickly and either find alternatives or emphasize the need to communicate. The need to answer e-mails promptly and attend meetings need to be established in consortium agreements and actions taken on failure to comply need to be identified. Review the communication strategies after key stages; identify the best

Communication theories are important to learn and understand. Learning these theories helps us apply the theory to our own life. It helps our critical thinking skills as well as benefits one to understand the value of research that has been accomplished in this field. Understanding communication theories can help us make sense of our daily life experiences. There are three Communication theories that I have studied that have touched on my personal and professional life. These theories are Communication Privacy Management, Social Penetration Theory, and Organizational Culture Theory.
Firstly, communication is broadly the conveying of information. All living organisms require communication for survival as it is diverse and complex, and isn’t restricted to language or
The communication cycle is a commonly used theory of communication. It was first developed by Charles Berner in 1965; it was then modified by Michael Argyle, who was a social psychologist, in 1972. The concept of a ‘communication cycle’ makes it clear that, in order to have effective communication, it must be a two way process. As well as transferring messages to others in a definite, clear way, health care professionals must be able to respond to the verbal feedback as well as the non-verbal feedback. So, effective communication has to involve effort from both participators (both the sender as well as the receiver) in the communication.
Humans act toward people, things, and events on the basis of the meanings they assign to them. Once people define a situation as real, it has very real consequences. Without language there would be no thought, no sense of self, and no socializing presence of society within the individual. (Socio-cultural tradition)
The establishment of how to communicate with each other was vital and instrumental in being able to stay on task and get our assignments completed in a timely manner. Several of our team members will play devil’s advocate to make sure the directions we are given are clearly followed. The group individuals have demonstrated different talents during being a group and we have all just in consensus (without speaking it) allow that person to take over the portion they are expedited in. For example, Cintia is great at graphics she’s demonstrated a talent for using different software creating eye catching graphics to our projects, therefore the group knows that Cintia will take that portion of the task on if it’s
We gather food, we protect one another, we support and raise the young, and none of this would be possible without some form of communication. Monkeys in particular “have evolved many ways of communicating such as visual cues, auditory calls, and even some olfactory signals” (PBS). Visual calls are obviously unable to be here, therefore it must be seen. The “Emperor Tamarin uses a visual call by sticking her tongue out at her mate so he knows she wants a break from holding her young”(PBS). Not all auditory calls are the same, there are various sounds that can be strung to be very long or can be simple and short.
This is the 6th call to this address in 4 days. This call stated that Laura Walters was pushed out the window by her husband Edward Stabell.
The study of the communication of animals and the comparison of their communication to ours as humans is linguistic ethology (McNulty, 2017). And with all discussions of animal communication, it is important to remember that communication, and even language doesn’t necessarily equate to speech. The species of monkeys has been the most commonly discussed concept of animal communication that I have been exposed to, which is what interested me in this topic. Reading Ammie Kalan’s research on this, she focuses on the communication amongst wild chimpanzees and their food calls. However, their ability for communication has the ability to extend further. It has been discovered many times in the past that chimpanzees have the capacity to communicate
3. Figure out where the communication breakdown is an fix it. I would argue that in this case, there appears to be a lack of communication on all fronts and that it is detrimental to a project of any type.
Did you know that animals can communicate? Well they can. Some people say that they don’t communicate, but I think they can. They communicate by using symbols. Kanzi the chimpanzee can speak like human. The trainer that teaches the chimpanzee teach symbols.
The author will analyse scenario 5 (appendix a) as he has no practical experience of Do Not Resuscitate Orders (DNAR) and believes this is an excellent opportunity to professionally develop himself in order to improve future patient care. This assignment will reflect, in relation to paramedic practice, on legal, professional and ethical frameworks whilst also considering interpersonal communication theories that impact on the delivery of care. Legal frameworks, including the Mental Capacity Act (MCA) 2005 and Human Rights Act (HRA) 1997, will be scrutinised alongside professional frameworks offered by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), such as the Standards of conduct, performance and ethics (2012). The impact of these frameworks upon duty of care, consent, capacity and best interests will be examined whilst various interpersonal communication theories will be explored, including transactional analysis and the influence of verbal and non-verbal communication. A conclusion will then be offered with well-supported reasoning for this decision.
Fill out the different cells with regard to each theory definition. You are to identify the theory the example represents, who developed the theory (theorist), explain the relevance of the theory, and then provide your own personal or professional application example of the theory.
Through the course of taking field notes for twenty-four hours I interacted with over fifty people. In these interactions, my most important relationships were represented as well as random daily interaction that taught me a lot about the way I communicate. In this paper I will analyze three of those interaction in terms of communication theories. I chose these interactions based on them being able to provide the clearest examples of theories. I used predicted outcome value theory to explain a first meeting and the conversation that followed, impression management to describe how I have to interact with my family, and relational dialectics theory as it relates to the tensions underlying the interaction with my boyfriend.
Any member with extenuating circumstances that prevent action on the project must communicate it to the group in a timely fashion so the other members can assess the situation and move forward accordingly.
