It has a diverse geography, the Andes Mountain Range diving the country Southern part into three different chains and also other lowlands found around the country. The Andes Mountains are three different range composed of massive crystalline rocks and they are known as Western Range, Central Range and Eastern Range. Having several volcanic cones and been the highest range of Colombian Andes is what makes unique the Central Range. South of Guajira Peninsula is located The Sierra de Perija, a folded stratified rock mountain over crystalline core. In the Caribbean side we can find Sierra Nevada and the tallest pick of Colombia, Pico Cristobal Colon. The Cauca and The Magdalena River flowing and separating the Andes Mountains, but then emerging
The most significant physical geographical factor that contributed to the development of the ancient South American society of the Incas was the Andes Mountains. The Inca Empire had villages and cities throughout the Andes Mountains. Some of these settlements were as low as sea level and their capital, Cusco, was at an altitude of 11,200 feet. The Andes are considered some of the longest and highest mountain ranges. In fact it’s tallest peak, Mount Aconcaqua, in Argentina, tops out at 22,841 feet (Zimmermann, 2013). Despite the fact that people were traversing mountains the people flourished creating trails, aqueducts and agricultural practices that still exist today.

Approximately ten miles from downtown Atlanta, one thousand six hundred eighty-three feet above sea level stands Stone Mountain. Stone Mountain is, simply, an enormous rock that is made of granite. The mountain can be seen from Kennesaw Mountain (West), Amicalola Falls State Park (North), and Mount Yonah (Northeast). Surrounding Stone Mountain is the city of Stone Mountain. On February 21, 1958 the governor of Georgia, Marvin Griffin, signed the bill which authorized Stone Mountain to become a state-run park and allowed it the authority to receive money from bonds granted by the state. Since that day, the park has added many different attractions and hosted multiple different events which, to this day, are very popular.
In the Heart of the Andes’ painting by Robert Seldon Duncanson, an immensely deceptive illusion is cultivated. This 1871 naturalistic landscape entices the viewer’s senses and lends itself to being part of the “beautiful” which is _____. This painting is a rendition of an earlier work done by Frederic Church in 1859. The formal qualities present in Heart of the Andes appear to fabricate an amicable symbiotic relationship between man and nature with motifs of God acting to legitimize human fallibility.

The Columbian Plateau is a geologic and geographic region that lies across parts of the U.S states of Washington, Oregon and Idaho. The Plateau is 2,804.9 miles away from Oakland, California. The Columbian Plateau is about 63,000 square miles of the Pacific Northwest, forming a large igneous province. Over a period of perhaps 10 to 15 million years. As the molten rock came to the surface, the Earth’s crust gradually sank into the space left by the rising lava. As the molten rock
One day I was watching a television show; many people have watched it before and have finished. That show affected me more, in my perspective than anyone else I knew. It was about the past of a high school student and what went on in her life. I never told anyone about my past, this made an old struggle come back even stronger and more difficult to overcome again. It was just my mom and I watching this show yet my mom skipped almost half of it because she didn't want me to see parts, yet I filled them in with my own imagination.

The main features of Bolivia's geography include the Altiplano, a highland plateau of the Andes, and Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake on Earth, which is shared with Peru.
The Andes Survivors live to tell a courageous tale of what it takes to survive after losing all hope of rescue. On October 13, 1972, a Uruguayan rugby team, along with friends and relatives, flew across the Andes mountains to Chile. Expecting to arrive safely to their destination, passengers aboard Flight 571 crashed due to a pilot’s navigation error. When the pilot notified air controllers of his position, they cleared him to begin descension. However, the location of the aircraft was misjudged by the pilot, causing them to crash into the Andes mountains, losing all contact with air control. The plane went down after losing its right then left wing, and crashing into a valley of the Andes near the Chilean border. Of the 45 people aboard the
Colombia is located in the northern region of South America, between Venezuela and Panama. It is almost twice the size of Texas and consists of "flat coastal lowlands, central highlands, high Andes Mountains, and eastern lowland plains" (CIA). Half of the land is forested and a third is used for agriculture; this country has plenty of natural resources and exports the most coal in South America. Climate is cooler in the uplands yet tropical eastern (CIA). Galeras, one of the country’s active volcanoes, erupted in 2009 and 2010.

Picture yourself climbing the tallest mountain in the world, Mt. Everest. Many people have successfully scaled this mountain, but others have tried and failed. Mt. Everest has been called a Himalayan Wonder because of its geography and weather extremes (Urmann). By exploring the geography, the people who have tried to climb it, and the supplies you will need, one can see how brave the many people who tried to climb it have been.
The physical geography of Latin America is important to its history and settlement. One of the most noted physical feature is the Andes Mountains. The mountains run the length of the Pacific Coast of the South America continent. The Inca Civilization benefited from the Andes. They settled in the central part of the Andes, and grew their culture there until the Spaniards conquered them. The Amazon Basin dominates the interior of the continent and is drained by the Amazon River, the largest river in the world. The Amazon Basin is the largest drainage basin of Earth. The Pampas Grasslands is another physical feature that extends through the mid-latitudes of Argentina. The Patagonia is at the tip of South America and is a cold, windswept region.
