My mother, Andrea Grossmann, is my role model. She has shaped my life in such positive ways. She has shaped my life by being a role model I can look up to. I've been able to watch her actions and grow as a person because of her. I am forever grateful for the lessons she was able to teach me and will always cherish those moments with her. Free thinking and to change everything is just beginning to describe her. She does not just accept the first answer she receives. She strives for the best in everything, including herself. Along with striving for the best she then expects the best from me. She pushes me to be the best I can be and expects nothing less than the best. When she was younger she was on a school trip to DC. She was a homeless man alongside the road. She was eating lunch at the time and decided to give her sandwich to the man. The man did not react very well - he threw the sandwich at her and said "I don’t want food I want money" my mom was of course then frightened and ran away. This story does not have such a happy ending, but even though the man did not react in a positive way my mother still strives to put their self out there for others even if they are not accepting of her kindness. I am glad that she has never lost that sense of kindness in her heart. By showing her kindness towards others I was able to learn from her and understand how to give that same kindness towards others as well. I strive every day to be even a small percentage of the amazing person she is. I will always look up to her and value every lesson she has to teach me. I value the time I have with her and never take those times for granted. I want to thank my mother for everting she does, not only for me, but for everyone around her.
