Why is animal cruelty not a focus? Using books, articles, and a court case, I argue that animal cruelty is a much more serious problem than most of us realize; we need to work harder to protect animals’ rights and stop their suffering. Animal cruelty is a much bigger problem than we know, but we all should know about. Animals suffer everyday and nobody knows or cares about but they don’t deserve to suffer because of us. There are ways we can take care of this, many of us never thought about. Focusing on animals means we will also focus on children’s needs. Animals feel pain and fear, even though they don’t show it. Animal cruelty is one of the biggest problems in the world. There are ways we can stop animal cruelty. People should feel more …show more content…
People who have fame have not focused the public’s attention on animal cruelty. These people have power, and when a person has power, people will follow and also attempt to get fame. The bad thing the people with fame they don’t know how to use it to benefit the human race and the world. They use it just to help themselves become more known. And well the people with fame are people that don’t deserve it. Sadly it just continues to get worse. People just forget about the main problems in the world. Lets Imagine that a young little boy right in front of you was getting beaten, sexually assaulted, or even killed of course somebody would do something because we were raised to help one another as a moral but why can’t we do the same for animal. People have just forgotten their morals. What is the difference between a human and any average animal not really anything. So why do we only care for our species and not others? Animal cruelty is a much more serious problem than most of us realize; we need to work harder to protect animals’ rights and stop their suffering.

I knew animal cruelty was a problem, but I wanted to know why people have done so little about it and so little to help animals. I read plenty of articles that explain how animal cruelty is a definite problem that needs to be taken care of but people don’t see it as a problem. I read the February 23, 2013, article, “Animal Abuse is a People Problem,” on the official blog of Rescue Ink, because it
Animal Cruelty is a problem that many ignore. People are oblivious to these animals and the negligence their owners show. Animal cruelty is an underlying problem in today’s society, and the only way to counteract these problems, is for this generation to do something about it.
Laws are not strong enough against animal cruelty and people do not know about this problem because it is not as prominent as others. Some of the reasons humans kill animals is for food, clothing, and entertainment. The way we kill animals in doing these are very brutal and inhumane. The only thing they care about is to produce a mass amount of meat, in a short period of time, and with little food to feed the animals. The last thing they are worried about is the animal itself and its feelings and needs.
All around the world, people are abusing animals. Animal cruelty is a big deal because some people do not look at animals as being important; some people do not see a problem with hurting them. Animal cruelty can be define as being a malicious treatment that can cause undue pain or being mistreated. Seeing an animal get brutalize by some humans seems to be cruel. Getting kicked in the ribs, left for starvation and even used for entertainment seems to be heartless. Why abuse animals when they have not done anything to harm a human. If one must see what they are really doing to these animals, then animal cruelty would not be a big deal.
Every 60 seconds an animal is abused. Dogs, cats, horses, and many other types of animals are being neglected and tortured everyday, yet resulting in few and minor consequences for the perpetrators. Animal abuse is prevalent in the United States and has been an ongoing issue since the 1970's, and prior to. Society as a whole has chosen to avoid the facts and arguments about animal cruelty, because to some it is seen as acceptable and typical. It becomes much more frowned upon when people actually see the results of the cruelty, especially in the media.
In america we talk about animal cruelty being wrong, but what are we really doing to stop it? Millions of animals all over the world are being abused and neglected for no reason. It can be as small as killing a mouse to beating your dog just because you’re just having a bad day. Nobody should have to go through this , especially an innocent animal that knows nothing. Even in america the rate of animals being abused is high. There is no excuse for someone to do this horrific crime , what are you really getting out of it? Animal Cruelty is a widespread issue across the world because people are neglecting animals, many may not realize what they are doing , and some believe it's actually okay to hurt them.
According to the ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty), the first humane organization, founded in 1866, in the Western Hemisphere that works to rescue animals from abuse and pass humane laws, the definition of animal cruelty is “acts of violence or neglect perpetrated against animals.” This definition is presented in a paper written by Learning To Give, an organization that teaches children to give back, take voluntary citizen action, and engage civilly and presents it through a philanthropist approach. Animal cruelty is an atrocious act that needs to be understood and not undermined. It is easy to push something to the back of our minds and put ourselves in denial when the issue is not right in front of our faces. Many of
Over the centuries, animals have suffered from cruelty from humans. In the United States, animals are beaten, neglected, or forced to struggle for survival. Animals have been inflicted with pain from humans for reasons other than self-defense. They have been slaughtered for their food and fur for personal gain in profit. In a majority of cases they have even been abused for someone’s own personal amusement or out of rage filled impulses. In some cases animals are found and rescued. They are given the second chance in life to experience what life should be like compared to what they once had.
One of my favorite quotes of all time “If you don’t like seeing pictures of violence towards animals being posted, you need to help stop the violence, not the pictures.” -Johnny Depp. Living together with animals can be seen as cruelty, suffering, and pain towards their moral standing in the human world, even if it’s not similar to human standing. Animals has been seen continuously in the United States and several of different countries throughout generations. I feel as we the people need to do something about these animals who are suffering such as this brutality, suffering, and pain. I believe if we take a stand that it’s possible to change this animal cruelty and make peace with the poor animals.
In America, we come across serious environmental issues about poverty, domestic abuse, ending world hunger ect. Animal cruelty isn’t one of those topics that isn’t being put out there more. We see it all around like the commercials on tv that tell you to donate money to help the poor stray dogs. People don’t see how much damage we can cause to them, but if we got together we can help stop this madness. In the article, Counting cruelty: Challenges and opportunities in assessing animal abuse and neglect in America it briefly says “Cruelty to animals is a crime.” (Lockwood 87). Laws were made for this problem way back. Our laws help keep society in a proper place with no hysteria.Which means people like us should pay attention more to our surroundings.
Each year, the most extreme cases of animal abuse receive media attention. Yet, the animal cruelty problem is more widespread than is reported in the media. Animal abuse and neglect is a nationwide issue, affecting thousands of animals nationwide. Cruelty to animals is defined as the infliction of physical pain, suffering or death on an animal, beyond what is necessary. There is a need to stop abusers from acting in such a horrific manner–preventing the neglect and suffering of the animals. What causes animal abusers to act in such a cruel way towards animals? How are cases of animal abuse being managed, and how should cases be handled? Finally, does the status of animals in society contribute to the rate of their abuse?
Some people believe that, "we could see some innocent people behind bars due to the outcry of activists who would prefer animals didn't exist in the first place" (Amanda) The truth is, there are people who are not being put behind bars that should be. As she said, there are people that would prefer animals didn't even exist, which gives them yet another reason to think this is not a problem. In fact, evidence shows that "many of the most violent criminals began their series of abuse with animals before moving onto people." (Amanda) Us as American citizens try to protect our people and we need to start by controlling the ones that will harm them. An adult should be locked up for kicking a
Ever thought of a pet getting hurt or maybe even killed by a person? Millions of pets at home get injured or killed every year due to animal cruelty. “According to “Owner Of Colorado Dog Sled Business Charged With Animal Cruelty,” some photographs that show sled dogs in chains, Some appear painfully thin, with visible ribs, while others display signs of infection” (CNN). Why has it not been stopped? Animal Cruelty has not been stopped yet because we don’t have strict laws against it, most people who do animal cruelty get away with it or just fined. Animal cruelty is a serious problem and needs to be stopped.
I have chosen animal abuse for my PSA topic because I love animals and would like to educate myself and others in hopes to finding a way to stop the cruelty. In researching this topic, I was saddened with the discovery that while there are laws that protect animals and those violating these laws may be prosecuted, there are so many cases that are never reported or taken seriously enough. The PSA includes the pernicious acts towards animals in the everyday life of human beings.
We live in a world that has a largely anthropocentric (a human centered) view. This causes respect and ethical concerns for animals to often be overlooked. People argue that if we did not rely on animals for resources, where would we be? On the other hand, there are animal rights advocates. These people do not view animals as resources, but instead treat animals with humane and ethical respect. Many special interest groups-
Some animals have never even felt grass before. I found all of my information on this website, "Cruelty to animals." Most of the animals that are abused, do nothing wrong and it is just the owner of the animal. Also like I said before the dogs that are used for dog fighting are drugged so they can be more aggressive and will fight the other dogs, and these are just two reasons why you should stop animals abuse. Another reason is that the animals that are beaten never get treated for their cuts are broken bones, the animals either live with their injury the rest of their life or they die. Just think about a cute little dog or cat. Would you want that animal to get hurt. If you're a parent do you want your kids to get hurt? Do you just want to beat your kid till death? I found all of this ot by reading an article called "Suffer the Animals." We can stop animal abuse by joining together and donating money to an organization or joining a group and protest. That is why you need to help animals. They are beaten and torn down and soon might become extinct. But unlike the dinosaurs you can make a difference in how other people treat animals. What are you going to do to help?
