I will be attending UW-River Falls as an Animal Science major, with plans to continue to veterinarian school. I didn’t always want to be a large animal veterinarian, in fact at one point in my life I swore that I would never enter that career. This promise to myself started when I was about six years old. I was living on our family farm and we owned a handful of cows. One day, my mother called the veterinarian to check the cows to see if they were pregnant or not. Being the curious child I was, and still am, I came over to the barn to watch. I observed the veterinarian put on a long glove and promptly put his arm up the rear of the cow, at that point I turned around and ran back to the house. That was the moment that I swore I would never be
I used to tell my friends and teachers that I wanted to explore the medical field because that was what my family wanted me to do. They wanted me to become a doctor as it is a well praised profession that pays extremely well. As I grew older and entered middle school, I realized that becoming a doctor wasn’t something I was immensely interested in. Instead of a doctor, I wanted to become a veterinarian, treating animals instead of people. I’ve become aware of my passion for animals ever since I began having pets: from fish to hamsters to dogs. I decided to focus on animals when I first took one of my hamsters to a veterinarian. I thought that their profession was fun and interesting because it revolves around animals, something that I love and grown up with. Although studying veterinary sciences is difficult and competitive, becoming an animal doctor has been one of my greatest
UW Fond Du Lac, I feel, is the best school for me. I want to go into animal services which enables me to help the one thing that I have loved all my life. Being in this profession I will be able to continue doing what I love and that's protecting those animals who don't have a voice or get the chance to live a life full of love and happiness.
When I was a little girl, I had my heart set on being a veterinarian. During middle school I tried to volunteer at the animal hospital. I wanted to learn everything I could about animals and help the veterinarians there, with their job. By the time I entered eighth grade, I knew that I wanted to get more involved. Once it came time to choose classes
Since I was little I’ve always wanted to go to that university and this year in AVID I got to visit USC so I was pretty thrilled having the chance to visit my dream university. My career goals for the future are between two decisions which are, becoming a nurse or becoming a veterinarian. My cousin is a nurse so that inspired me to get interested in the medical field. Also, I’ve always had curiosity about what veterinarians do. My dog Max got in a car accident during the summer which made my love for animals grow more and wanting to know more. It’s a hard choice on which path I want to take but I am thinking a lot more now about my career choices than when I was
Uncertainty in the fact that getting into veterinary school is so very competitive and that all of the years of hard work and preparation my not pay off as I would like. Of course not getting into school may be devastating but I have no intention of giving up. No matter how long it takes I will continue to pursue veterinary medicine because I know with certainty it is my passion. The first time this became truly evident to me is when I went on my first farm call With Dr. Andrew Stas. Dr. Andy was performing and corrective surgery on a cow suffering with a Left Displaced Abomasum.
The biology career that i choose to do my research paper project on was a Microbiologist which is a biologist that studies is a scientist who studies microscopic life forms like cells and processes or works in the field of microbiology. The job of a microbiologist is to study bacteria, virus, cells, and other organisms that can not be seen with the naked eye they do that so they can reroute viruses or bacteria that can harm humans to make life safe harm humans to try to reroute them and make them non harmful towards humans. A microbiologist would study ebola or the flu virus to come up with a cure. This means they have a part in health care because they cure diseases and/or fight against them. I will be discussing a Microbiologist from their
Pursuing college has always been one of my biggest goals to achieve in life. After high school, I will higher my education by attending college. My ultimate goal will be to one day become a veterinarian. The love and compassion I have for animals plays a big role in choosing this course of study. Growing up on a ranch, I am exposed to animals such as horses, cows, dogs, chickens, and rabbits. Tending to the animals and keeping them in good health gives me the experience I need to see if the veterinarian study is fitting for myself. Furthermore, I plan to attend BYU-Idaho which offers a pre vet course that gives students who are seeking to become veterinarians the opportunity to intern at a vet
Every since I was a little girl I always wanted to be an veterinarian due to the fact that I love animals and I feel as if I have a connection with them. During my eight grade year of school I decided that I wanted to be and Equine technician. The reason why I wanted to be an equine technician is because for many years I watched My family's equine doctor operate on our horses and it really fascinated me and one day I was able to help out our doctor and I just felt as if this is what I wanted to do with my life. That's why in college I wanted to pursue an Animal Science Major as well as an Equine Studies or Equine Science Minor.

Everyone has to have a job, meaning that I am going to need one too, when I grow up. Which also means that I am going to have make a choice between the hundreds of jobs available. I thought long and hard over this, and have come to the decision of becoming a veterinarian, or to have some kind of job that is associated with animals. I am choosing this type of job because I care and love animals and when I think of any animal being mistreated or hurt I have to do something, help in some way. Though what I didn’t realise was, that it would be even harder to choose what type of veterinarian, among the several that there are to choose from. I have chosen the top three jobs that I am going to take into real consideration. One of
In science class, we were told to find a career that really intrigued us to pursue when we are older. A career that really caught the interest of me was being a Director of Operations for a certain company. A Director of Operations makes sure everything the company needs done runs smoothly and is completed when it need to be completed. To help with my research on the career, I asked Scott Savary who is a Director of Operations for McKesson. I asked him what he thought science was and he said, “Science is about identifying a problem, drafting a theory on how to solve the problem and then experimenting until you achieve the objective.” Continuing in the interview he said science can help his career in three ways: organization, tackling problems,
I am a veterinarian. Well not yet, but ever since I was a child that’s all I ever dreamed of becoming. I’ve always heard people say, “you will change your career choice at one point of your life”. However, I never have. I am so determined to turn my dream into a reality. The best part about never changing my career choice, is my mom telling me, “ Christina, remember whenever you would call yourself princess of the animal doctors.” I couldn’t put an exact name to what I wanted to be but I knew what it was. The reason why I am so dedicated to becoming a veterinarian, is because I can feel my connection to animals. I’m not talking about being able to have full conversations with animals, that’s crazy. I’m talking about understanding that animals
The new graduates from veterinary school that graduate every year is around 3,000, making the job hunt a bigger competition (OCO). I love animals and being able to be around them all the time would be an incredible opportunity. When it comes to being a vet you have to be able to take care of sick and dying animals. Being able to help animals get better, and get back to their families would be the best feeling to have. I personally have always had the thought of being a vet in my mind, but I finally have the right path to be able to pursue this career. I wanted to combine two things I love, animals, and helping people. I felt like a vet or a veterinarian assistant would be perfect. This paper will explore the job description,
As I day dream as a child of the unlimited things that I could do, my attention was always drawn to being a veterinarian. Every day is a constant struggle with myself to strive for the better and keep my goals in mind. I have completed many extra-curricular activities and still need more in order to be successful in this career path.
Everyone has their own goals in life, as well as what they dream to have as a career when the time comes. After researching on different websites that relate to careers in animal sciences, I have chosen five careers that interest me and that I could see myself pursuing in the future. To some people, salary plays the largest role in the career they choose. I chose these careers on what I would enjoy most. My list of possible careers are pharmaceutical sales representative in animal health products, an animal scientist, zoologist and wildlife biologist, veterinary technician, and an animal breeder.
