British born Anna Wintour, born on November 3rd 1948 is the current editor in chief of world renowned fashion magazine ‘Vogue’. Having started her career in fashion in the early 1970’s working at Harpers and Queen in London, Anna Wintour has decades of experience in the fashion industry and is seen as one of the most influential figures in the fashion world. Anna Wintour was born to a father who was editor of the ‘London Evening Standard’, it was quite clear that Anna adopted her stern and tough working attitude from her father who was known as ‘Chilly Charlie’ within the media world due to his cold demeanour quite like his daughter

Anna Wintour can also be described as aloof and emotionally distant from others which could be a reason as to why she is in such high demand, these specific personality traits also coincide with Allports personality theory within which he states that people within a specific population area share the same trait(s) (Allport). This theory could relate to Anna Wintour due to the fact that she was born in England and the English culture could be argued is not one that is particularly an emotional culture especially within the early 1940’s which is when Anna was born. Anna Wintour’s father Charles Wintour could also be the reason behind Anna’s emotionless personality due to the fact that Charles Wintour was an editor who displayed a tough and stern personality style within the workplace and this proved to be a success for him so it may seem as if Anna is following in her father’s footsteps. Having observed Anna Wintour through various interviews and magazine articles, one specific identifiable trait that she possesses is the fact that she has a strong sense of self belief as she does not change her personality or the way in she conducts herself depending on where she is or who she is with even though she works within
1. On the 21st of October 1995, Anna Wood took an ecstasy tablet at a dance party and died three days later. At such a young and thriving age, Anna Wood was just 15 years old with a loving family, many friends and a new job. On the night of the event that had taken place a series of risk behaviours were undertaken. Firstly by wanting to take an ecstasy tablet to get high as well as not having any knowledge on the actual drug. By having a broader knowledge on the drug she may have been still alive as she would’ve only had taken half due to knowing a whole tablet would be too much.
Anna Quindlen describes in the essay “Abortion is too Complex to Feel one Way About” the different situation that we as a human race are put in everyday. She talks about the topic of abortion in a way that one feels they have had to make the decision of whether or not a person is pro-choice or pro-life. She uses references that are of different personal experiences in the essay that are vital to the audience. Quindlen is writing to state her point that one should never put their self in this situation because one should take the proper responsibility. In this paper you will read about the conflict with abortion and what Quindlen thinks about this issue.

“Oprah Gail Winfrey is an American media proprietor, talk show host, actress, producer, and philanthropist. Winfrey is best known for her multi-award-winning talk show The Oprah Winfrey Show, which was the highest-rated program of its kind in history and was nationally syndicated. She is also, according to some assessments, the most influential woman in the world.” (Henry, 2007). In this paper we will discuss at length about her personality, her heredity vs. her environment, and how they have played a crucial role in Oprah Winfrey’s life and psychological development.

The image is interesting as it pushes the boundaries of beauty and convention in respect to the role of woman and fashion image making. She is commonly seen wearing American designers therefore pushing “the American fashion industry into the international spotlight” (Givhan 1). People are often so draw to her style because it gives a glance into her personal life. As Givhan states, “Obama’s clothes have connected with the public in contemporary terms, in the language of Hollywood’s glamour, Seventh Avenue’s bold entrepreneurship and the democracy of the mass market” (Givhan 1). In March 2009, Michelle Obama appeared on the cover of US Vogue which showcased her “dress, style, and poise” (Gibson 40). Brett Schenck, president of Hart Schaffner Marx states, “It’s usually the frenzy behind the first lady” (Jones), but in the some instances, President Obama has also made an impact on the fashion industry. Lady Diana Spencer married Prince Charles in 1981 and became known as Princess Diana. “Anywhere I see suffering, that is where I want to be, doing what I can.” - Princess Diana. As an adored member of the Royal Family, Princess Diana broke barriers of royal protocol, was one of the biggest fashion icons of the world, and will be remembered through her legacy.
