The Life of Anne Frank Adolf Hitler’s rise to power in Germany was an event that touched the lives of many people from the late-1930s to the mid-1940s. This is seen through the story of a young, Jewish child named Anne Frank, whose parents would have to go to great lengths in order to prevent her and the rest of their family from being taken away to the concentration camps in Germany. They went through the trouble of moving from their home in Frankfurt, Germany to Holland, Amsterdam, which did little to stop the German army once they had invaded the country on May 10th, 1940 and conquered it in the span of five days. This defeating of the Netherlands led to the establishment of anti-Semitic laws which hindered the social status of Jewish citizens, as well as lead to the arrests of many. These arrests would also include the fifteen-year old Anne Frank and her family once the word reached to a …show more content…
This is evident within her diary in which she reveals her reason for writing in her diary. In the text she states that she has never written anything before and is doubtful if anyone would even bother to read what she has to say. However, she paints the perception that she’ll write whenever she wants to express herself. Furthermore, she proclaims in a later entry that she seeks to become a journalist, knowing how well-written her descriptions of her life living in the Secret Annex are. As you can see Anne’s passion for writing was very much realized since her diary was published after WWII by her Father, who managed to survive the Holocaust. She may not have been recognized for her writing in the way she intended, but her story still made her a well-known individual in the zeitgeist of the WWII era. Hence, it is clear that Anne Frank’s goal of becoming a famous writer was realized long after her
In 1934, Anne attended Amsterdam’s Sixth Montessori School, for five years she lived a normal childhood. She had many friends and not all were Jews. In 1939 the Nazi invaded Poland starting World War II. Then in 1940 the German army invaded the Netherlands, defeating the Dutch forces in just a few days. "After May 1940, the good times were few and far between; first there was the war, then the capitulation and then the arrival
“I hope I shall be able to confide in you completely, as I have never been able to do in anyone before, and I hope that you will be a great support and comfort for to me” ( Frank). Anne Frank, short for Anneliese Marie Frank, was born in 1929, and died around 1945. Her father, Otto Frank, was born in 1889 and died in 1980, and was a prosperous businessman. On January 30, 1933, Hitler had taken over Germany. Anne and her family were Jewish, and they were forced to move to a new place for a new life. Anne Frank was a victim of the holocaust, and she would later use her experience before, during, and after WWII to illustrate through her writing, the thought of a teenager during a time war.
Anne was a young girl with big dreams. She had so many hopes and things she thought would happen through out her life. The Nazis were on the move to make sure all Jews throughout Germany, Poland, Copenhagen, ect. we're gone. Anne was born June 12, 1929 in Frankfurt, Germany. When the Nazis invaded Germany, her family automatically moved to Amsterdam and brought only so little with them. As soon as she arrived Anne began her sixth Montessori school but, as soon as the Nazis invaded Amsterdam they had to transfer to a strictly only Jewish school and had to wear a yellow star on their chest at all times. Anne also had a good, loving family. They always had nice parties that Anne invited her friends to. Her father Otto Frank actually survived
The Holocaust was the systematic persecution and murder of six million jews by the Nazi regime and the collaborators. The Franks were one of the many families who were affected by this genocide. Anne Frank was a Jewish citizen in the Netherlands during the Holocaust. Anne Frank had a lively, energetic, and rather extroverted personality, even though she was hiding from the Nazis in a small house. She showed great aptitude about reading and writing, although she did not allow others to see what she was writing about. Even through difficult times, Anne believed she would survive the war, having faith in herself, hoping to fulfill her dreams, and still trying to make the best of their solution when experiencing depression.
Anne Frank is the child of Edith Hollander Frank and Otto Frank. When Frank was about four, Adolf Hitler became chancellor of Germany and he and his Nazi government began to go unbelievable measures to prosecute the German Jewish citizens. Frank’s father moved to Amsterdam to establish a small company (Biograph Staff). The company was successful in producing substances to make jam. Frank and her sister stayed behind in Germany with their grandmother, but later moved to Amsterdam with her family
The Diary of Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl story, reveals the hardships the Jewish community faced during World War II, through the perspective of a teenage, Jewish girl named Anne Frank. World War II was a horrible time in Europe, because of the persecution from Adolph Hitler and party-group called the ‘Nazis’ who threatened and mistreated Jewish lives. During this time, many were being sent to “working camps”, which were actually death camps; living in fear, many went into hiding. Before going into hiding with her family, Anne received a diary for her birthday, which was used to describe her life and the problems she and others faced during the war.
I would have to disagree with anne on her quote that says, “In spite of everything, I still believe people are really good at heart.” I think this way because of Mr. Van Daan when he went and stole all the bread from the cabinets that he should be feeding his children with and he took the bread. However, Someone might disagree with me based on Anne, when she believes everyone is good at heart even the ones killing the other jewish people.
What if Anne Frank’s sister, Margot, lived and made the journey to begin a new life in The United States? Furthermore, delving deeper into speculation, Anne Frank mentioned her older sister also kept a diary, what would we learn from Margot’s perspective if her diary surfaced?
(Working Title) “Think of all the beauty still left around you and be happy,” like Anne Frank once said. World War II was the deadliest war in our modern world. Many Jews were discriminated, persecuted, and killed in concentration camps because of their religion. Most went into hiding to protect themselves from the Gestapo or the Nazi police. The Frank family went into hiding, yet they tried to be there for each other.
Her thoughts and her style of writing were affected by the ordeal that she went through. When she first obtained her diary, she wrote about her life in Amsterdam and her “boyfriend” Harry Goldberg. “It’s easy to see that Harry is in love with me, rather fun for a change” (Frank 7/3/42). As time passed by, she started to write about more mature concepts, such as the war. “Every night hundreds of planes pass over Holland on their way to German cities, to sow their bombs on German soil… As for us, we’re quite fortunate. Luckier than millions of people… We’re so selfish that we talk about "after the war" and look forward to new clothes and shoes when actually we should be saving every penny to help others when the war is over, to salvage whatever we can” (Frank 1/13/41). Another thing that changed was her writing style. Before, she wrote in a simple manner. “Now I must stop. Bye-bye, we’re going to be great pals!” (Franks 6/14/42). But, gradually, she began to write in a more complex manner. “It’s difficult in times like these: ideals, dreams and cherished hopes rise within us, only to be crushed by grim reality” (Frank 7/15/44). Although, Anne Frank remained the same innocent girl she was at the beginning of the diary, she matured in tremendous ways throughout her experiences and this maturity was reflected through her
Imagine hiding in an attic with unfamiliar people not knowing if the Nazi’s are going to come, or how long until they do. Diary of Anne Frank was written by a young Jewish girl named Anne. She wrote this diary while she was in hiding. Anne and her family went into hiding because of World War 2 when the Holocaust was happening. Anne and Peter were just two of the six that were hiding in the attic.
“Writing in a diary is a really strange experience for someone like me. Not only because I’ve never written anything before, but also because it seems to me that later on neither I or anyone else will be interested in the musings of a thirteen-year-old schoolgirl.” - Anne Frank.
Humans behave differently in various situations in either good or bad ways. People often make mistakes all the time, and many people intentionally do something bad. However, I believe everyone has good intentions and that it’s in our nature to be good on instinct. This has been proven throughout our daily lives and throughout history. First, in The Diary of Anne Frank, by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett, Miep and Mr. Kraler put themselves in danger for the sake of the Franks, Van Daans, and Mr. Dussel. Also, Anne Frank refused to think that people were generally evil and tried to make everyone see the goodness in people, in spite of the dire situation they were in. Finally, mot in relation to the Holocaust, our nation has come to the aid of the Philippines after the disastrous typhoon that put them in a very vulnerable state. These examples show that, no matter how horrible things seem, there are people willing to help and encourage at a moment’s notice.
“We are almost up,” my mother said as we waited in line to enter the Anne Frank House. We stood over an hour in the winding line of people. During that time, I was able to completely assimilate to my surroundings, even though I endured the nervous anticipation. The surreal feeling of standing in a colorful world just outside the room where eight people languished in a dark existence for twenty-five months was a seminal event in my life.
