They say dreamers are born, not made-but there is my question: how many of these dreamers did the way they were born? Reality beats our dreams out at a young age – only those who fight for their dreams ever see them fulfilled. During my childhood, I have wanted to become a scientist. I have wanted in achieve great things to our world like finding out the reasons for cancer and how to treat this disease. I mean something that can help to solve many health problems. Something that is beneficial. I like science and math so much so that I can help my classmates to understand them. I think in this way I can contribute to your community with a good thing and I know all of that can’t be achieved without your strong programs and in this …show more content…
Leeuwenhoek has been one of the factors that shaped my aspirations to be successful and never give up my dreams, even if I faced difficulties due to his unique determination, confidence, genius, and hard-working personality that qualified him to invent the microscope , one of the most beneficial inventions that contributed to the field of science and medicine. He taught me that my model in life should be about hard work and confidence that can reveal the path to success and great achievements. Success is not about the fear of failure. But it is about never to give up regardless of the many unsuccessful trials or hardships. Success, for me, it is about how far a person can handle a hardship. It is about the ability to overcome failure. Leeuwenhoek’s microscope came after several failures which he faced while he is building the microscope, that motivated me to success and never abandon my dreams. I was really inspired a lot by such scientists and inventors. So, when my teacher and high school counselor advised me not to take AP courses during my second year in the U.S. because the language barrier might make it harder for me to understand what was going on, I assured my counselor that I can handle AP courses because of my hard work and determination. And, when I took these AP courses in multiple subjects, my teachers and advisor were surprised by the high results I
Without dreams and goals, success is hard to achieve. In grade school, I decided to become something in the medical field because I wished to help people
If I had made a list of my child hood dreams, I admit, it wouldn’t be very impressive. I never wanted to be a firefighter or a policeman. I never had the urge to be a millionaire, and I never even thought of being a G.I Joe or Army Man. If you could see my list, you would see only two words scribbled down in that chicken scratch hand writing of mine. But only one of those words would follow me out of that first grade class room and stick with me to this present day.
What really defines a dreamer? Is it the children who have unrealistic dreams of playing in the big leagues or is it someone who has a plan and will go out of his or her way to achieve it? Both of these options can be true. Dreamers are special in this world because they have hope for something they believe in. Nothing is more fascinating than seeing an individual who never gave up and worked extremely hard to reach their goal. Having read only three sections so far, I have explored the individual’s purpose and passion for the work they pursue. The “Dreamers” section has made me analyze what I have and want with my future career. Overall, the elements of the book defining dreamers explains the meaning of a risk taker, the hard work and dedication involved, and the passion it takes to reach your goals.
All of these dreams were created in the same place I am today. I have lived in the same place all my life. I have also been at the same school with most of the same people since kindergarten. High school was a huge change and the first time I
You’ve probably heard of those big time Hollywood movie stars and singers, but have you ever thought of the guy who took their photos in all those magazines, movies, and newspapers? James Van Der Zee was one of those guys.
In a way I have dream like Arnold, I want to be a doctor it may seem impossible but I know I have to work hard to get there.
The dreamers who are tying to achieve such a goal are those who were successful athletes in high school and even the ones who graduated at the top of their class. Many of these dreamers are the ones who want to help other people learn by becoming a educator, attorney and even a physician. Its also surprising that many of the undocumented citizens can only speak English as opposed to their home countries language being first.
Richard Nixon once stated “The American dream does not come to those who fall asleep”. If not for his words, I wouldn’t have realized the potential that lay within me. As of today I’ve achieved, in my own eyes, what’s come to be known as the American dream. During the past seven years, I’ve graduated from Washburn University, became a molecular biologist, and established a set of values that I live by.
After reading about those who stuck with their dreams, I came to a conclusion. A person’s dream can indeed change the world. In my search for answers, I came to learn about four individuals who had to risk and sacrifice to change the world. They used their dreams to inspire, influence and raise awareness.
As a child, I dreamt of having a career in a medical field. Throughout my late elementary and middle school years, I wanted to become a Pediatrician. I remember this one memory from when I was younger. I was at a local Pediatric office getting my yearly checkup done and thought about how I wanted to be like Dr. Hletko (my family’s Pediatric Doctor). He has been my doctor since I was born. Anytime I was sick, he would be there to diagnose the problems and prescribed me my antibiotics to get better. Not only did he help me get better, but he also helped so many sick kids get healthy and I aspired to be like him one day. As I got older and started high school, I changed my career choice and wanted to become a Nurse Practitioner (APRN). APRN’s
Van Eyck pursued a career at two courts. Working for John of Bavaria, count of Hainaut-Holland, and then was made court painter and valet de chambre to Duke Philip the Good, Duke of Burgundy, the most powerful ruler and foremost patron of the arts in Flanders (Pioch). Employment at court secured him a high social standing which was very unusual for a painter, as well as artistic independence from the painters’ guild of Bruges. Many aspects of his work were intended to promote his personal reputation and abilities, which he accomplished by signing and dating his pictures (also
Everyone has dreams that they want to achieve, whether that dream is to be the next man on the moon or to simply travel to a new place and discover amazing things. In order to achieve those aspiring dreams though, I have to be ambitious and responsible. A person that just expects things to happen is in for a rude awakening because dreams do not just instantly happen like microwavable popcorn, they are sought using determination. America thrives on dreamers. Dreamers seek to make America a better place. I am a dreamer. I dream each and every day that I will wake up and make America a better place. Everybody has a responsibility to America. No matter how old I am, how inexperienced I am at doing new things, I still have to get up and try because
I guess you could say I was a dreamer. My dreams at the time were not to become a famous writer and poet. My dreams were to discover something no
It wasn't until just recent I realized that I wanted to be a trainer. It wasn't until now that I hit the wall, Growing up I had dreams just like any other kid, I wanted to be a lawyer, because
Anton van Leeuwenhoek didn't create the microscope, but had huge scientific discoveries using it. He invented over 500 lenses for it, and at least 25 single-lens microscopes. He discovered the spermatozoon, types of bacteria, and the vacuole using his microscope. These advances in science are very important, especially the vacuole. Anton had a lot of secret about the microscope, he claimed he had aspects of the microscope construction 'which he only kept for himself'. His most critical secret was how he made his lenses. Until today, nobody is yet to find out how to make his lenses the way he did. His discoveries and inventions spread throughout Europe just as Christiaan Huygens' did. He basically has a monopoly on microscopic study and discovery.
