She’s a good “catholic girl” who doesn’t want to be known by her father’s daughter yet she lives her life with her dad’s word of advice. She’s trying to keep her family together but it’s falling apart; although people offer her help she resists. I liked Anya as a character although she did seem a bit rude, immature and too blunt in certain parts of the book I know she has sacrificed herself many times for her family and has lots to take care of on her hands but she would treat her brother as if he was an idiot and was really rude to her younger sister. I’ve never read any of Gabrielle’s books this was my first time and I was sort of into it sort of not. I feel that I didn’t connect to any of the characters as much as I would have liked to. Despite the fact that I didn’t relate to any of the characters I did enjoy the book, this was probably my first drama
Chapters 1–5 introduce an average boy who would become a remarkable man. Born in 1917, Louie Zamperini was the child of Italian immigrants. Growing up in Torrance amidst poverty and anti-Italian bias, Louie got in the habit of running outside the law. He started smoking when he was 5 years old and drinking when he was 8. He stole anything he wanted—mostly food, money, and whatever else he could find. He ran small scams and vandalized property. Pete, Louie’s older brother, became concerned.
I was not really into reading at the time, but I remember that my teacher made us read for at least fifteen minutes at the beginning of every class. If we did not have a book there were many books from her library to choose from. I believe this was one of the first books that I read in her class, and think I chose this book in particular because it stood out. I mean the title itself already piqued my interest. I honestly did not think that I was going to enjoy it as much as I did, It was such a bizarre read with all the strange events and abnormal characters. And in a weird way, the strangeness of the story was what I really liked. I do not think I would have liked it as much if it was not for that. It was one of the first chapter books that I did not have to force myself to finish. This was also one of the first books I read that really got me into loving to read. I just loved getting lost in another world and I wanted to keep reading books that did that for me.

I did actually really like this book. I was not sure if I was going to enjoy it when the project was first assigned, but after reading for a while, I became really interested
My favorite character in the book is Anya. Anya is one of Chana’s younger sisters. I like Anya because despite her young age she stays calm and positive about her family being threatened by the Nazi’s. As Anya gets older she tries to help her family in any and every way she can.
1. Chapter 1, is about introducing the Tres Camarones, the state of Sinaloa, Mexico. Also, since the people in that town didn’t like change much there are already danger roaming around like the bandidos who will be evading the town.

Her father was an average type of man and had occasional drinking binges. Alexia parents relationship was fair , they met at their High School homecoming dance.
It’s interesting watching each character develop for better or worse, especially the father who continues to incite the same emotion from you throughout the whole story until the end as well as the oldest daughter. But as much as you remember they are just characters in a book, you know that there are people out there that share the views as these close-minded characters. There are moments when I wanted to scream, cry and just throw the book across the room because of certain events that occurred, but I could not turn the book

The most relatable character in the novel is Valerie. “The lump in my throat was too big. It seemed surreal that I was about to be walking the same hallways with these kids who I knew so well, but who seemed like complete

She is the protagonist in the story. “Her short linken walkind dress was, as far as he could judge, in the height of fashion and revealing an extent of silk- clad leg as disturbing as ever.” c, Barbara. Bright Hair About the Bone. New York: Bantam Delta, 2008. This quote show that she was someone who liked to show off a bit and everyone at her college thought she was kind of a trouble maker. Her godfather was Daniel who was murdered and a year later she receives a note the day he died. Instead of wondering who killed him she wanted to find out who did it and she did. Her actions showed how much she cared about Daniel and it showed how close they were together. Her relationship with other characters is that she is very stubborn and doesn’t listen to anyone if it’s not what she wants to do. She likes to succeed in everything she does even if it might be dangerous or impossible. An internal conflict is when she thinks about why there was a body in the trench out in the open where she is digging which meant they wanted her to find it as a message to her. An external conflict is when the gun is pointed towards her and she tries to make the shooter focus on her to figure4 out there scheme and figure out why they killed Daniel. In the end she is changes like becoming more in touch with her emotions. Many other characters seem to think that she is stubborn, some characters are attracted to her, others
2. Sedaris presents the students while they are talking to the teacher as characters from television shows. The first Anna he described her as homey with bucked teeth as least that's what I got from it by him saying "she had teeth the size of tombstones." The second Anna must have played it safe and seemed a silly as he called her loopy. Carlos must have been a cassenova being that he was a bandonion player that wanted to sex all the women of the world. The optimist who had a hard time defending herself was probably the only one who was attractive to Sedaris. The effect it achieved was the images he created for me the reader to know how the students may have appeared to him.
