Record keeping is a very controversial topic in the realm of psychology. Recording keeping is important in many professions but more so for psychologists. Records are to be kept for clients, documents such as type of service, service duration, nature of intervention and contact, and the current assessment(Fisher,2013). I believe private therapists saying less is better is practical and still within your legal obligation. Reason being is because psychologist records and notes are considered a work product privilege and are immune from subpoena (Fisher ,2013). These notes are know as personal notes and are for the psychologist. Sharing notes recorded in session may lead to misinterpretation, these notes are intact for liability purposes. If

As you know, the Advanced Placement (AP) Psychology exam involves 100 multiple-choice questions and two free response essay questions. The goal of the exam is to accurately measure knowledge of psychological concepts and to communicate to colleges which students would most likely succeed in a college-level psychology course. Each year, few students receive composite scores of 1 and 5, and more students receive scores of 2, 3, or 4. Use the following terms to describe how the College Board most likely developed and evaluates the AP Psychology exam. • Recognition • Recall • Standardization • Normal curve • Reliability (test-retest reliability or split-half reliability) • Content validity • Predictive validity

My Junior year AP Psychology course didn’t just teach me about the human brain, social patterns and mental disorders -- it taught me about myself. By the end of the first semester of that class, I knew that I had found my calling: to study the human mind and give professional aid to those who suffer from mental disorders. I am confident that the University of Wisconsin-Madison will help me fulfill this goal with its world-renowned Psychology program. UW-Madison is the home of numerous breakthroughs in Psychological science and students who have changed the course of the history of Psychology, such as Abraham Maslow (Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs) and Harry Harlow (Harlow’s Monkey Experiments). The idea of studying at such an esteemed university is thrilling to me and I’m eager to pursue my education there.
I took Subjective Happiness Scale and scored 3.5, which is in a middle of the continuum. It was a preliminary estimate of my set point. After retaking this test about a month later, I scored 4. The birth of my second daughter made me happier. The highest score on the scale is 7 and the lowest is 1. My friend received 3.25. Good news that despite the score, everyone can become happier.
This scenario violates codes under 2.0 Behavior Analysts’ Responsibility to Clients and 3.0 Assessing Behavior. The ethical code 2.09d states that the behavior analysts “review and appraise the effects of any treatment”. While, code 2.10 requires behavior analysts have a responsibility to “create and maintain documentation in the kind of detail and quality that would be consistent with best practices and the law”. In addition, 2.10 necessitates behavior analysts “appropriately document their professional work in order to facilitate provision of services later by them or by other professionals”. Furthermore, Code 2.11 sites that behavior analysts “create, maintain, disseminate, store, retain, and dispose of records and data relating to

Finally, the usage of the professional knowledgebase has strengths to utilizing during my field placement. According to Reamer (2005), “Documentation in social work—whether it concerns clinical, supervisory, management, or administrative duties—now serves six primary functions”. (Reamer, 2005, p. 326) Supervision provided feedback on the effectiveness of my professional knowledgebase. I was shown how to present myself professional as well as how to complete daily activities. I become familiar with documenting appropriately when necessarily. It took me some time to pick up on the language and terminology that was used at my field placement. Assessments and planning guides the treatment. There are strengths and limitations of the approaches at
Last school year I decided to take a course on Advanced Anatomy to receive science credits. Little did I know it would the best class ever. Anatomy has helped me confirm my interest in focusing on the medical field in college, specifically nursing. We learned about the majority of the body systems, with the skeletal system and the brain being my favorite. The outline of the body and the many tasks of the brain were my favorite things to learn and study. When it was time to dissect, I was hesitant, but I soon learned that I very much enjoyed looking at the body and where things were located. When the time came to choose classes for senior year, I realized that AP Psychology was available. Taking this course allowed me to further my interest
“Specific state and federal laws and regulations govern psychological record keeping. To the extent possible, this document attempts to provide guidelines that are generally consistent with these laws and regulations. In the event of a conflict between these guidelines and any state or federal law or regulation, the law or regulation in question supersedes these guidelines. It is anticipated that psychologists will use their education, skills, and training to identify the relevant issues and attempt to resolve conflicts in a way that conforms to both law and ethical practice.”
Record keeping encourages clients to keep a log or journal of their thoughts and activities to help identify circumstances or precursors that occur before temptation or relapse. Once the client is aware of what triggers temptation, he or she will be able to adjust the daily routine to avoid these triggers or circumstances.
Writing in Psychology is solely up to psychologists themselves. There is no required type of writing; most psychologists perform patient reports or case studies, but many choose what they will do with the patient. Different types of writings include books, journals, notes, evaluations/analyses, and tests/assessments.
Ethics form the core basis of personal and public rules related to codes of conduct guided by a specific collection of principles. When conducting psychological research several subjects of conflict surface such as personal space, maintaining confidentiality, possibility of replication violating privacy, problems with deception and manipulation. Along with these value conflicts, there are multiple arguments posed in search of answers to many ethical questions within the field. These disagreements are what generate ethical issues. To resolve these issues, psychologists need to develop mutual ground and agreement as “a scientific and professional discipline is based in part on a set of shared values” (Cook, 1975.) Ethics are a critical branch in psychology that needs to be addressed; some professionals are unaware of these ethical issues and the implications of misconduct.
