Are humans naturally evil or good when they are born? This is a question was something argued over since humans have been on this planet.Everyone should think that humans are born, not raised, with the tendency and ability to do terrible acts even if we know they are evil and against our own moral code or our own legal agreements. I will be going into detail about how we are born evil with evidence from “Lord of The Flies.”, “The Stanford Prison Experiment.”, “what is nature versus nurture?”, and “Hobbes: The Leviathan.”.

A great example in the book “Lord of the Flies.” of how we are born evil is Roger. Roger is someone who at the start of the book is throwing stones around other kids, but still missing. The way he was raised keeps him from hitting them actually. But as the story progresses, he does more then throw small stones. He eventually is the one who pushes the rock, that lands on and kills Piggy. He doesn’t act shocked at his own actions, and instead he seems to be glad he is free of the chains society that held him back. Suddenly he is willing to torture other children and harm them. And that is how human nature wins normally in the end.

Another great example of a man who Understands human nature is Hobbes, the author of “The Leviathan.”. A fantastic way he describes it is “From this equality of ability arise the quality of hope in attaining our ends.
