Racism is a problem that no one seems to have an answer to how to end it. People are prejudicing someone based off the color of their skin. They are being discriminated again, and some people even think that their race is above another. All those things all of example of racism. I think one thing that keeps racism going is the fear of something different. People see other races as something different then themselves and that scares them. Racism is not something that affect one race, it is something that affects everyone. It may not affect everyone in the same way, but it is very uncommon to meet someone who has not been affected by racist.
Racism is not only against African American. On the article by Codi Bott, I found the author is talking

This was back in high school and me and this black girl were argument about something and one of her come backs to me was calling me racist. We ended up having to go to the assistant principal’s office. Then again that girl called me racist and saying that was the whole reason for the argument. When the assistance principal heard that she dismissed the whole argument and sent us both back to class without hearing what happened. I felt like when the word racist came up she could not do anything. She was also white. Being racist is such a big thing and when someone is called that no one knows how to approach this problem. It is something that can be a very sensitive subject and many people would rather stay away from it then face it and try to figure out what is going …show more content…
If racism would ever end it would take generations. People need to teach their children the importance that everyone is equal no matter their skin color. Children learn from what they are taught and what they see growing up. If they see their parents acting racist they will act the same way and think that nothing is wrong with it. We need an entire generation of people who believe that it does matter what skin color you are, it matters that you are human. We need people to think like that to see a change in the world. If this would ever happen, it would not be anytime
There exists in our community a monster, a monster as old as mankind itself. This monster is known by many names; some call it racism, others discrimination but the only thing certain about this monstrosity is that it can be overcome if we all unite to fight against it. Racism is “a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race” (Merriam Webster). Racism has multiple causes ranging from living in a secluded community, to the basic instincts of mankind which likes exemplify the differences found in others not like themselves. Racism can destroy the foundations on which a community is laid upon and can intrude upon the peace and sanction of many of its members. By informing members of the community on the reasons why racism continues to persist, encouraging acceptance and providing further education on how to relieve racial tensions, we can resolve the issue of racism once and for all.
Racism is everywhere, it’s a person. Racism has a mouth and a mind. Racism in this world is a weapon. It creates terror, fear, and cruelty against people. We as a whole should end racism in order to bring the world together. Over sixty million victims have suffered through racism. Those sixty million people have paid the unnecessary price from being tortured, disrespected, judged, and even killed! And there are currently over eight hundred, and ninety-two hate groups throughout the U.S.A map. That is just showing how in this society there are actually people agreeing with these hate groups that would attack and result in violence against other races. It has greatly, and significantly impacted those poor people's lives negatively. In fact,
Throughout history in America there has always been the idea of racism. When Americans think of racism, they usually think of slavery and that racism is no longer a problem in America. However, this is not the case. Racism is still very apparent in America. It is true that since the end of slavery, the U.S. has made great strides towards becoming a less racist country. In reality, racism will never be extinct. In today’s society, all American citizens of all races have the same rights as one another, yet there is still racism. Racism can be linked directly to stereotypical mindsets of certain groups of people. It is human nature to make conclusions about other people, this is what leads to racism. Today’s racism is not limited to whites
First cause why racism is still going today is unfamiliarity. Unfamiliarity is one of the most common causes of racism is unfamiliarity. Some people become fearful of what they don't know or understand. Suttie stated, “If a child has grown up with people from only their race, then the child is more likely to become racist towards that race.” This is not always the case, but when someone has been given negative stereotypes and doesn't have the life experience of being around people from a different race, the person is more likely to be racist. This is why it is really important to children to be around people from different races to ensure their minds adapt and to make sure they don't believe in false stereotypes in the future.
This issue of racism is popular by name but tends to be sugar coated by the way people see it. In order to truly understand racism you need to take a bite into the topic in order to get a taste of what it is really like. Racism comes in many different forms and can be seen many different ways. But why even care about racism at all? Why does it even matter? One would think that with such a harsh background regarding racism in America it would no longer exist in society today. But sadly that is not the case here, racism continues to show up all over the country sometimes being worse than others but still racism is racism. People should all be considered equal regardless of what they look like, talk like, or even do that makes them who they are.
Racism has been a huge social issue for as long as I can remember. Not only does racism exists between whites and African Americans it exists between all different races all over the world. Although racism has changed a lot it still exists in many places all over the world. You would think that after so many years that people would learn that everyone is equal but some races still seem to think that they are superior to other races.
Every day an extensive amount of people have to face hatred and bullying. Huge conflicts occur and lives are lost. The issue that plays a significant part in all of this is racism. It affects individuals and communities in every corner of the world.
Racism in America is no longer a big problem because segregation has been abolished for more than forty years. ("Primary Documents in American History.")Now African Americans can do so much more than they ever could before.("Primary Documents in American History.") They can do things such as professional sports, vote, get good paying jobs, and own a business. Although African Americans can now do all the things whites can do that doesn't mean racism is completely gone. There are still many racist people in the world and there probably always will be.
Racism has been a terrible problem in American society for hundreds of years. Racism issues are not limited to one specific race, but include all races. It is the responsibility of the people of this nation to address racism and learn to accept and embrace each other for our differences, and allow this great nation to become even more united for our sake and the sake of future generations. To eliminate racism it is imperative to know first, where racism started and how it has developed, why it continues to be present in our nation today, and what we must do as a people to overcome this major problem.
Since the beginning of time, there has been racism. People are afraid of difference and are used to the ordinary. Racism became a worldwide problem in America especially, after they imported slaves from Africa. Even after a long fight for equality of all skin colours, racism was still present. Racism will never stop. It will keep going on and on till the day the world ends. The reasons why it is never going to end are people’s upbringings, media, and stereotypes. No one is born racist; it is the world around them that forms their opinions.
Racism is the belief that one race is superior to another. Discrimination has been going on for generations among generations. Many years ago people of different races were divided from each other. Public places were segregated. Colored people had to use specific water fountains, schools were segregated, and blacks had to sit at the back of the buses. If they were to disobey then there would be consequences and repercussions. Equality was a figment of imagination, a dream the the minority groups had. Throughout the years racism has decreased and many things pertaining to racism were made illegal but that doesn’t mean racism disappeared. Although the separation of the races are more organized, racism can lead the world back to inequality,
Racism is a huge problem, especially here in the United States. The United States has come a long was, but there is no doubt that there is much more progress to be made. People seem to follow the patterns of others and fall in to the same issues. It is important that the cycle breaks and individual learn to be independent and speak their own minds instead of following the thoughts and beliefs of others. Until the chains are broken and people fall out of this endless loop, racism will continue to be a major issue.
The question remains even though racism continue to a an impact on other people’s lives what, what can we do about it? Well, no one person can do it all or do it alone but we can all help and work collectively to end
“There is nothing wrong with a little casual racism.” One of my friends recently commented this phrase to me, in a joking manner, but it struck me. Is just a little casual racism fine? I am one to err on the side of, “All things in moderation” but is it truly not a problem? In our society, today we see racism in our soup. In many ways, I feel as if the word communist has been switched with the word racist. No longer do we call each other a communist if they are stingy or different, we just stoop to the words racist or xenophobe. In the essay, written by Roxanne Gay, called, Surviving Django, Gay makes claims that she was offended by the racially insensitive, supercharged, ego driven film, created by Quentin Tarantino. She proceeds to
Racism has occurred for many years and in many different societies. Some people choose to remain oblivious to it all while others choose to take a stand either for it or against it. Racism is a big
