You wake up in the middle of the night to banging on the door and screaming in the hallway. For most people, this would mean there’s some sort of emergency, but in this case, it’s just your alcoholic parent.
When you wake up in the morning and walk out of your room to get ready for the day, you notice more damage to the walls along with your parent passed out in the living room. You finish getting ready and head to school, after all, you’re only 15 years old.
Hour after hour of mundane classes, school is finally over. You walk home only to find a police car parked in your driveway. You know exactly what this means so you jog over to a friend’s house to see if you can complete your homework there. Luckily, their parents are kind enough to invite you in and even offer you dinner.
After everyone finishes dinner you thank them and head home. The cop car is gone and you make it to your room and lock the door. After putting your stuff down, you lay down and fall asleep till morning.
