No, I believe that the U.S. shouldn’t be responsible for helping ISIS. I wouldn’t like to see or hear innocent people get hurt. Also it’s not the United States responsibility for the fight that ISIS picked with Paris. It would be nice for the Unites States to help ISIS but the problem between ISIS and Paris would become bigger if the United States came in because than that would mean that Paris would want to bring someone in the back them up as well. It think that both sides would create their own big army and that would create something extremely big a dangerous for a lot of people. This argument that ISIS has against Paris should be treated differently. In a healthy way without involving any weapons or any killing device. They should be mature and talk about their differences. Or they could also just let it go, there doesn’t always have to be an attack. Because if someone throws the first bomb the other sides going to want to do the same. It’s always treated the same in this situation and I think they should try something …show more content…
And that’s one of the reasons why ISIS wants the United States to fight back for them. The army of ISIS doesn’t feel as confident as the United States army is. The United States army is more committed and on it to what they are assigned to do. It would take a lot of money to do whatever it is that they want to do. Their plan costs a lot of money and I think wasting a lot of money on something that’s unimportant might go a different way than what they plan. They could use that amount of money on something a lot more useful and helpful for ourselves. It would be a waste of money and time because everyone has a different point of view. Paris can think they’re trying something completely different from what they actually thought in mind. And that can go either way. If they ever were to waste that much money they would be selfish and not
Chief among the threats to the United States today is ISIS. To be able to know how to properly address this problem, one need only look at the beginning of the conflict to understand how to end it. The reason ISIS went from a ragtag militia to an armed force capable of fighting both the Iraqis and Syrians, was with the equipment and training provided by the US government and our allies. This was done with the explicit purpose to enact regime change and create a free, secular state. Granted, at the time they thought they were arming democratic loving rebels. But doesn 't that just prove that we don 't have the competence to be getting ourselves involved in conflicts where we can 't tell who the good guys are?
We recently watched the film Paris is Burning, a documentary about black drag queens in Harlem and their culture surrounding balls. Directly related we also read two feminist critiques, Gender is Burning: Questions of Appropriation and Subversion by Judith Butler and Is Paris Burning by bell hooks. Two areas of critique I focus on and question are the critiques regarding the filmmaker, audience and drag queens and how they participate to reinforce a heterosexual racist patriarchy. Furthermore I ask if this line of investigation is the most beneficial way to view and understand the film and its various participants.
The first European known to have landed in Wisconsin was Jean Nicolet. In 1634, Samuel de Champlain, governor of New France, sent Nicolet to contact the Ho-Chunk people, make peace between them and the Huron and expand the fur trade, and possibly to also find a water route to Asia. Accompanied by seven Huron guides, Nicolet left New France and canoed through Lake Huron and Lake Superior, and then became the first European known to have entered Lake Michigan. Nicolet proceeded into Green Bay, which he named La Baie des Puants (literally "The Stinking Bay"), and probably came ashore near the Red Banks. He made contact with the Ho-Chunk and Menomenee living in the area and established peaceful relations. Nicolet remained with the Ho-Chunk the
In “The Other Paris” by Mavis Gallant, Howard’s proposal and Carol’s compliance are instigated by society’s imposing perception of the nature of marriage; the justification both individuals share about their actions is precipitated by the pressure society has placed upon such union. Through employing an ironic tone and comical characterizations of Carol and Howard, Gallant criticizes how society approaches the subject of marriage.
In “The Other Paris,” two characters, Carol and Howard Mitchell are soon-to-be married young adults whose actions are completely influenced by the norms of society. The author, Mavis Gallant, provides clear social commentary on the societal influences on marriage through satirical uses of irony and mockery, the use of a omniscient narrator, and substantial characterization of the relationship between the couple to show the reader how ridiculous and formulaic the “pillars of marriage” can be, and how society ultimately determines which aspects of these pillars receive emphasis.
We already know that there has been a precipitous decline in the study of liberal arts because many people do not value it anymore. English and history are now being pushed aside for math or science. Fareed Zakaria, an American journalist and author, in his article, “What's the Use of a Liberal Education?” writes, “Even President Obama recently urged students to keep in mind that a technical training could be more valuable than a degree in art history. Majors like English, once very popular and highly respected, are in steep decline.” This mindset is causing many people to turn away from liberal arts-based subjects, so they can pursue something that would “be more valuable”.
Argumentative Essay Liberal Arts The liberal arts have been a main study for people for many centuries. They have even become a main part of our lives with the humanities relating to religion and how we act. Even though they have been important and still are today, many people think that they should not be a part of college curricula. They think that instead of teaching the liberal arts, colleges should have more of a focus on more practical subjects, such finance and accounting.
I was furious when the leaders of the civil rights movement believed Claudette was not a good example for the movement so they completely left her alone. I hated how they abandoned her in a sense when she had a child because it was deemed inappropriate and she was not allowed to tell her story. I can not comprehend people who have the same goal but refuse to accept the help of others because of their age of gender. Claudette would have been a great example of the unfair treatment of people of color because she is an educated teen that strongly believes in justice.Teenagers of all time periods do not have much of a voice in society when we are the ones who are leading the next generation.
I remember watching this story on the news. It was horrible what these people were doing to countries that didn’t want to have war with them in the first place. It reminded me of 9/11, but I still think 9/11 was worse than what happened in Paris. I know some people were planning to go to Paris before this all happened and now they can’t go. I don’t know why these ISIS people think that we are all their enemies, but we are not. They are making it worse by having all of these terror attacks happen across the world. If you think about what is the point of fighting with each other, we are all the same even though we may look different and have different cultures. If we could all get along and not think one of us is better than the other than we
Basically everybody who isn 't in ISIS concurs that the gathering is awful. In any case, we can 't go firearms (or planes, so to speak) bursting after each "awful" gathering on the planet, and we shouldn 't. Iraq and Afghanistan are impeccable samples of this. Ling raised the 2003 attack of Iraq in his section also, and I need to address what he composed:
In school there are a lot of students who enjoy painting, or taking photos, or playing music or anything that is arts related. Students who take these fine arts programs love these classes and enjoy being in them, taking them away could falter a student’s school life. Fine arts is a big deal at Central, we have so many talented students at our school, they deserve all the consideration and appreciation that they get. Funding for the fine arts programs should not be considered to be cut because the fine arts can benefit a student’s test performance, they benefit a student’s culture, and can help a student’s future. First off, the fine arts program can actually help students, it helps them benefit their school life and it can actually help test scores, in an article with “The Washington Post” from Tyleah Hawkins, the author, states how the fine
Paris is Burning is a documentary about the ‘ballroom culture’ of LGBT and black cultures. It was shot in the mid-80s in New York, but it was released 1990. Through the film and the characters, many aspects of this culture are explored. Things like ‘realness’, ‘balls’, and the different concept of ‘family’ that the members of this community have, allows us to see and learn more about the drag community and what is like to see the world through their eyes. Besides all of these aspects, the film main focus is gender identity, theme that has also bring about many opinions about what gender is and what does it mean to be a woman. Some of the questions that the film has raised are if to be a woman is to be born like one or is just to look like one.
The U.S. strategy for defeating ISIS must look like defeating terrorists without compromising foreign interest in these countries, like Syria, and Iraq. There is also a risk for finding trustworthy allies, and having weapons falling into the wrong hands. Therefore U.S. should provide aids to allies and help them figure out their true ideology. A war would destroy the economy of the Syria and negatively affect the citizens as well as the environment of the region. For the betterment of the world and its people, countries should come together and end the war by negotiating rather than shooting at each other, if possible.
On Sunday, November fifteenth, it was reported that French military jets were launched to attack Isis. The French jets dropped a total of twenty bombs in the mainland of Isis. The reason for France bombing Isis is due to the events that occurred on Friday in Paris, France. France was the victim of multiple attacks by members of Isis. A total of one hundred twenty-nine people were reported dead on Friday.
The Liberation of Paris, also referred to as the Liberation of France, took place during World War II from the 19th of August 1944 until the surrender of the occupying German army on the 25th of August. The Liberation began with an uprising by the French Resistance against the German troops. The capital of France had been governed by Nazi Germany since the signing of the Second Compiègne Armistice in June 1940, when the German Army occupied northern and westernmost France, and when the puppet regime of Vichy France was established in the town of Vichy in central France.
