Recently there have been multiple debates against loving who you want, especially with certain religions. The LGBTQ community isn’t accepted into many people's religions because “it goes against what the bible says” or because “it’s gross”. This situation has torn families apart simply because one member cannot take that another person loves someone of the same-sex. I believe that same-sex relations should be widely accepted in all religions and people should be able to love who they want without fearing over how it will affect them for the rest of their life. I believe this because not only does shaming gay couples embarrass the person in the relationship, it may also embarrass their children or make their children feel ashamed of them; not accepting gay relations in religions can cause violence towards the LGBTQ community; and finally because in the bible, it also states that God loves all his children no matter what. So in all, I believe that gay relations should be accepted by everyone.
To begin with, shaming a family or a couple for their relationship with someone of the same-sex can cause the family or the people being shamed to maybe feel ashamed of their significant other or parents. According to an interview done by CNN, Silber (a child of parents in a same-sex marriage) stated, “In middle school, because of pervasive homophobia and taunting, I didn't tell any of my new friends in school about my family to the point where I wouldn't invite them to my birthday
Same-sex marriage good, or same-sex marriage bad? Marriage, also called matrimony or wedlock, is a socially or ritually recognized union between spouses that establishes rights and obligations between them, between them and their children, and between them and their in-laws. For thousands of years, law and custom enforced the subordination of wives to husbands. But as the women's-rights movement gained strength in the late nineteenth and twentieth centuries, wives slowly began to insist on being regarded as their husbands' equals, rather than their property. The movement to obtain civil marriage rights and benefits for same-sex couples in the United States began in the 1970s. On June twenty-sixth, 2015 same sex-marriage became legal. Now, same-sex marriage rejects the natural law created by God. This, along with many other reasons is why same-sex marriage should not be legalized because, God created men and women and by this he established the first coherence of marriage, traditionally marriage has been between a man and a
Francis DeBernardo, head of a LGBT Catholics organization, has said that "many gay and lesbian couples are leading lives of heroic devotion to each other, their children, and their communities. I hope and pray that you will reflect not only on the harm that this decree will cause but also the good that can occur if you withdraw it." (Crary). People who like the same sex shouldn't be categorized in society as people to be frowned upon when they lead a good example, but others disagree. This is why the discussion of same-sex couples is so controversial. Gay marriage is a very important issue in modern society in the U.S because it is more accepted than what it used to be by everyday people and household life is healthier than in opposite sex marriages; unfortunately, it is still frowned upon by many and some business owners still decline service due to discrimination.
Society has to realize that it is not ones' sexual preference that allows a family to grow and flourish, it is the efforts of the people who make up that family unit. A family is based on trust and love, and if that is what these gay and lesbians
Same-sex marriage allows marriage between man and man or woman and woman. This is an age old fight between conservatives and democrats. Traditionally marriage has been between man and woman, conservatives hold to this idea, while typically democrats push for marriage equality among genders. People who are pro-legalization argue denying a person marriage from someone is an act of discrimination and creates second class citizens. Though those who are anti-legalization argue the institution should remain between man and woman as per tradition. Pro same sex marriage is the position many people are beginning to adopt as they realize love is love and the gender of the people does not matter. To provide true equality gay marriage needs to be legalized in all countries around the world, which also helps to create a safer environment for those in the LGBT+ community by not being legally discriminated against.
This issue continues to arise and spark debate year after year and decade after decade however the facts remain that this issue should simple be answered with a yes due to the fact that all humans deserve a right to freedom and as such that right to freedom will technically dictate that they will be given the right to decide any decision they may come across, however on the technical side of debate the four main theories of morality& religion, ethical naturalism, moral relativism and nihilism all present a different side and different approach to the issue.
Many people in the United States have been refused the right to marry for many years, especially homosexuals. Gay marriage is important because, everyone has the right to pursuit of happiness; according to the Decleration of Independence. Homosexuals have been shunned for their lifestyle choices because of others religious beliefs and morals. After several years of riots and debates, Gay marriage was finally legalized on June 26, 2015. Same-Sex marriage should remain legal because, it offers many advantages to same-sex marriage such as legal benefits, stability for children, and the right to equality.
Americans view/ deem to be happiness ont eh standards of the American Dream: the ability to achieve economic success. A “normalized” family based on American standards encompasses the idea of marriage and having children. Before the legalization of gay marriage, this “dream” was generally exclusive to heteronormative couples. Slowly, the acceptance of gay marriage as another possibility has opened up the “normalized” family structure to include homosexual couples. The dream is the image of happiness and for those who do not try to achieve it are not deemed happy. Those who choose to be included into this structure are more tolerated than others who do not fit in this molded construct. (AHMED W/ marriage and kids) Queer individuals try to replicate a model that can very well have been defined in heteronormative settings and trying to adapt it: performativity.
The talk of legalizing gay marriage has been around for over a decade. The first act upon gay marriage was by Bill Clinton on September 21, 1996. On this date Clinton signed the Defense of Marriage Act into law saying, “a legal union between one man and one woman as husband and wife." The pro and con sides of this controversial topic will be showed in this essay. The basic information about gay marriage in America and around the world along with, the supporting arguments and opposing arguments will help explain both sides.
Homosexuality has been a sensitive topic and risen a lot of controversial opinions when some states approved same-sex marriage laws. Although same-sex marriage is against the traditional family structure previously established, many people think it has to be dealing with a more equal and integrating focus. Therefore, they think they should be accepted into society and treated with the same opportunities and rights. As a human, the individual seeks mostly the same goal, to build a family. And this goal is set regardless of gender, age, beliefs background and other factors. Since some states have qualified homosexual people to be merited with the same benefits as others; therefore, gay, and lesbian people look forward to having kids after they marry. Leading to the outburst of debating whether same-sex parents are able to raise a good family. A person who is in the LGBT community will never stop fighting for his dream to create their own love nest even when some counterparts do not support the idea of same-sex parenting. Many psychologists, organizations, children, same-sex parents claim that children who are raised by gay or lesbian families, develop as well as those peers who are educated and grew up in a traditional family. On the other hand, some study groups, researchers, Add Health organization, and other adults report that there is high risk for children to suffer from depression, stigma, and does not behave right in the same-sex household. Which leaves people asking
Often times when gay marriage or gay relationships are seen or brought up by people who aren’t gay or have a loving desire for someone of the same sex there are negative viewpoints, or disagreements. People state things such as, “It’s biblically unjust to marry the same sex”, or “You were placed on this earth to reproduce”, others simply just don’t agree finding it “unappealing” or “disgusting.” I personally am not gay or interested in the same sex, I have been with the same for partner, a male, for a very long time now. I simply am here to stand for people who love their significant other just as much as I do.
Same-sex marriage, otherwise called gay marriage, will be marriage between individuals of a similar sex, either as a common service or in a religious setting. The term marriage correspondence alludes to a political status in which same-sex marriage and inverse sex marriage are thought about lawfully equivalent.
For generations, homosexuality has been repelled against and condemned. Homosexuality is not “normal” according to certain traditions and religions. However, in March of 2015, “U.S. District Judge Daniel Joran issued a preliminary injunction against the ban, citing the Supreme Court’s decision legalizing same-sex marriage nationwide”. On June 26, 2015 gay marriage was finally legal in all fifty states. With this law being passed, much weight was taken off same-sex couples, however, they are still facing a multitude of hardships. Same-sex relationships are presented with an abundance of obstacles when it comes to parenthood opposed to heterosexual couples. However, the hardest one they face is before parenthood- the process of adoption and the technology that aids in procreation.
America prides itself in allowing its citizens to manifest their natural born rights. Our founding fathers created documents such as the Constitution granting us our liberties, the main one being the pursuit of happiness. However, throughout history people have faced discrimination due to race, gender, class and sexual orientation. The LGBTQ community has fought to gain their right to marry and won. Many believe that same sex marriage mocks the idea of commitment. Yet, they fail to understand that marriage is not a privilege but a right. Individuals should be able to marry who they love regardless of their gender.
The concept of marriage has been around for thousands of years. Marriage is the conjoining of two people who love each other. People get married because they love the other person and can see themselves living together for the rest of their lives. Marriage has always been between man and woman. However, now days people in the same sex want to get married. People do not know what to think about gay marriage, which is why it is a controversial subject in today's culture. People can not quite understand it because marriage between man and women had been happening for years. People don't what to think because opposite sex marriage had been working for so long. So why change something that works just fine? The
Same-sex marriage in the U.S. is argued in the courts and homes quite a bit nowadays. The reason it is argued so much is because people believe it is wrong and should not be legalized in the United States. So many people think that it is wrong because their religion conflicts it, or just doesn’t add up to them. A religion that gay marriage conflicts with is usually Christianity. In James 4:12, G*D says “There is only one lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save and destroy. But you-who are you to judge your neighbor?” Never does G*D say condemn them and prevent them from being happy. There are also people in our country who do not agree with interrupting people from being happy. Marriage, in many cases, can make people happy Although same-sex marriage is not a bad thing, some people believe it is.
