These are the times that provoke horror in the heart. The naive child and preppy teacher, will, in this misery, end all efforts to edify themselves and others; but the one who manages to caper into the dreaded familiarity of the prison-like room will be a martyr for the suffering she shall endure. Class after class, like the taste of a shriveled asparagus, is not very appetizing, but there is a minor feeling of solace. Ultimately, because students have toiled, they will appreciate the knowledge they have gained. At least the teachers get paid for undergoing this torturous venture, whereas the unenviable students have to pay for this traumatic experience, Students should be getting paid, and at the very least should not have to pay, to attend
ernica Amboise2/12/18CCIIProfessor Olsen Should Every American go to College?Dependency is a major factor on whether or not high school students should attend a4-year institute. The American dream of higher education has become a very potent andcontroversial topic within the last ten years. College was known to be a luxury that only the richcould ever think of exceeding in. Financial situations have become a blockade for the middleclass of many Americans in regards to student expenses. With such an increasing financialstruggle of americans, students and parents are skeptical on the value of college educationnowadays. The doubt of young students not obtaining motivation mentally, or financially topursue higher education has captivated their minds with an unspoken contemplation
With a fierce swoosh of her tail the fearsome SAT knocked me down once more. October 3rd, 2015 at Cypress Bay High School was meant to be the site of her demise, and though I fought admirably the SAT still held my future in her gargantuan claws. All of the previous battles with the SAT had weakened her grip on my future college career, yet now that I am headed off to college in less than two months the SAT still needs to be destroyed. What does she have clenched between her razor-edged teeth this time?
One time, I got a good grade and my grandma gave me money. If school is truly wants student to be motivated to do well in the school should pay student for a better grade. Motivate student prepares them for high school higher test score. From better graduation rates for learning about work making kids smarter there are many positive effects of paying student for a higher grade.
Education has always been a priority for most households because students were raised thinking a higher education equals high paying jobs, but is that really the case? This thought had definitely settled into my mind, but times have changed and so have I. We live in a day and age where students have to be lured into choosing a school based on how luxurious the dorms are or how big the gym is, and not so much on newly renovated science labs. What happened to attend school for education? For some careers, obtaining a college degree has no use and they’re better off spending money on a trade school or finding a job and gaining experience specifically catered to their profession instead. The lack of interest in college students during class shows that college is not worth the high cost and debt that can delay a person from buying a house or saving for retirement.
Some politicians are quarreling about whether or not college is worth it. And whether the supposed importance of a college education is an over zealous statement or opinion. In fact, some are tendentious in their opinions. This is a pandemic discussion.
In college, students tend to spend a huge portion of their day involved with academic activities. The students are pressured to do well in all of their required classes, even if physical education is not involved in their required classes. First semester college freshmen tend to spend most of their day in their room studying or doing homework, when in reality they should spend some of their day in a gym or playing an intense sport. For some students, the transition from high school (where fitness is a mandatory class) to college (where the students can take the classes they want whenever they want) is difficult. Since the classes they take enforce difficult topics, students tend to neglect physical education due to the increase amount of dedication
The loud and annoying sounds of an alarm clock go off alerting a student that its 4:37AM. In one fatal swing of the arm the alarm clock goes crashing to the floor in hopes that the sound will stop. After a few minutes of collecting oneself the student gets up and prepares him or herself to go to 6AM practice. After hours of drills, being yelled at, and sweating it is time to sit through numerous classes. Once class is finished it is time to go back to practice, team meeting, lifting, or film session. Don’t forget the homework that is due for class tomorrow. At the day’s end once practice, class, team dinners, and homework are finished it is finally time to go to sleep. This being an almost daily breakdown of a student-athlete has raised much concern for if student-athletes should be paid or not.
Would it be a tragedy to lose our sports? It would be hard to lose something you’re really good at. I disagree that you should get rid of extracurricular. Yes, it might save money that might be a good reason to get rid of it.
No, it would not. I believe this because teachers aren’t doing their jobs for the money. Sure, they want to earn money, or else they wouldn’t bother having a job, but if teachers were really only teaching to get paid, then they would have chosen a different job. My mother doesn’t stay up until 12:00 AM for a week straight making lesson plans, grading papers, and making individualized scrapbooks for each of her students because she wants more money. She does it because she loves her job and her students. She actually cares about how they do academically. She, and every single one of our teachers, want us to succeed. By cutting or raising teacher’s salary based on performance, we are making our schools too clinical. As the article said, teachers
Are you a Junior or Senior high school student getting tired of not being able to get a job because school is too time consuming. There are many reasons why students should get paid to go to school. I believe that students should get paid your last two years of high school so the student can start saving up for college or be able to pay for there car. Also getting payed to go to school with help the students learn a sense of responsibility.
It has come to my attention, that despite the fact that there are some simple laws stating that it is illegal to pay someone less than someone of another sex, women are still being paid less than men. This is unfair and unjust. It is discriminatory and offensive, and someone needs to do something about it. For these reasons, I have created the following proposition:
“ I rather be a little nobody, than be a evil somebody” -Abraham Lincoln. I think that everyone should be treated equally and not get picked on.This is just my opinion about bullying that everyone being treated equally .Should kids that get bullied should their parents pay for them?
Public school teachers around the United States are not earning fair pay. When compared with other fields such as computer science, engineering, or the medical field, teachers earn among the lowest pay grade of all jobs. The thought of living on a low-income frightens many potentially amazing and well qualified students from pursuing a degree in education. Teacher pay is beginning to affect students education as well; therefore, causing children to not obtain the education they deserve. Teachers should be receiving more money because valuable teachers are walking away and superior education begins with quality teachers.
It was once said that everyone deserves, “a fair days pay for a fair days work.” This seems a maxim to most but when you delve deeper into the issue of wages in a capitalist economy, the question of what constitutes a fair wage and who should set them gets a little harder. Whether there even should be a minimum wage was debated hotly when Franklin D. Roosevelt pushed and later passed the Fair Labor Standards Act in 1938 as part of his “New Deal” with the American citizens (Grossman). Today, for the vast majority of Americans the issue of whether or not there should a minimum wage seems like a debate for past generations. So with that debate “won” in most American’s minds, the question in our current America
Teacher’s from Oklahoma demanded more money for salaries and lessons need. The Governor of Oklahoma has already signed laws to increase salaries in the state, but educators are still not satisfied. “The Oklahoma Education Association has demanded $10,000 for teachers over the next three years”(Schallhorn). However, this problem is not only occurring in this state it is actually nationwide. Teachers all over the Nation are calling for strikes and rallies to demand more money. I believe teacher should get paid more because they are the foundation of the next generation. I am guessing many teachers are not satisfied with their paycheck since there has been strikes and rallies created from them not getting paid enough. The teaching profession always
