The Democratic Party and the Republican Party have had debates about it. Democratic candidates are in favor of immigration reform, while Republicans candidates are against immigration reform. Some democrats’ candidates are Hillary Clinton, Martin O’Malley, and Bernie Sanders.
Hillary Clinton supports the immigration reform. She considers that our country gives refuge to those that need it. Other candidate disagree for instance, Bus says Trump’s policy would be impossible to implement. Also, Marco Rubio adopt talked about his position on immigration. In today’s American society, there are few issues more divisive in politics than immigration. It’s an issue that’s argued in nearly every debate, with Republicans and Democrats with their own views and thoughts on the matter. The issue goes as far as dividing homes, young liberals arguing with their conservative parents on who is correct.
Hillary Clinton has an extremely different view on Immigration than Donald Trump. Hillary Clinton believes that as
The immigration reform, an important issue for the U.S. government has accelerated significantly in the past few years. It has been debated between the democratic and republican senators to reform a framework for the immigration. President Obama gave a speech to push for an immigration reform in favor of undocumented 11 million immigrants in the USA, as well as a road map for their legal citizenship. It has also been suggested that a sub citizenship could be an option instead of providing full citizenship for the 11 million undocumented immigrants.
How well do you know the candidate you’re voting for, could they destroy our country? There are two groups that make it to the ballot, Democrats and Republicans. The Democrat candidates are Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders. The Republican candidates are Donald Trump, Ted Cruz, and John Kasich. Every candidate has things you might disagree with but they might have things you like, you should vote on the one you think is the lesser of two evils based on them and not a bias opinion. I took the time to find where they stand on three topics, immigrants, abortion, and guns. There are many more issues that they stand, I just want to give you a general idea so you can vote when you’re educated on the topic. Here are the candidates and where each individual stands.
U.S. immigration policy has always been an important topic debated by Presidential candidates for decades. Immigration reform has been ignored by Congress, leaving decisions up to the President and Supreme Court. In the meantime, the hopes of about eleven million illegal immigrants in the U.S., as well as future rules for legal immigration, rest on the shoulders of those decision makers. Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump both agree that changes to U.S. immigration policy are needed; however, Donald Trump is taking a radical approach suggesting mass deportation and completely revamping U.S. immigration policy, whereas, Hillary Clinton is overlooking some issues and wants to continue to support the policy set forth by the Obama Administration. Regardless of who becomes President, they will have a hard time getting these issues passed through Congress.
There has been lots of controversy on the issues concerning a solution to America’s broken immigration system. Democratic and republican parties can’t seem to agree with one another, leaving reform at a stand-still. Democrats are focused on giving illegal immigrants a path to citizenship while Republicans are focused on border security. The fact is both of these approaches should work in unison with each other to provide the most efficient route in fixing immigration.
After listening to and reading about the Republican Party’s stance on immigration, people learn a particular perspective of immigration. They learn the opinions of a certain group that believes that immigration, especially unauthorized immigration is a burden to the United States. It issue leads people to understand that issues such as this, will not always have a solution. Immigration has always been a problems, and the act of unauthorized individuals entering the U.S. has always been a disturbance to some people. The Republican Party has a strong stance on immigration, and they are not afraid to articulate when they are oppose something. Republicans are more conservative and people learn about this through the speeches given by Donald Trump
Democrats (who are generally more liberal) believe that a comprehensive immigration reform is essential to fixing our broken immigration system. If a proper reform is put in place, it will help to continue the tradition of innovation that immigrants have brought to the American economy, and held to ensure a level playing field for American workers. President Obama has recently stepped in to try and create a solution. In November 2014, President Obama announced executive action offering deportation relief for up to five million undocumented immigrants who are contributing to their communities. The Presidential order also focuses on cracking down on illegal immigration at the border and ensuring that immigrants who live here pay taxes ("Democrats.org.").
In the 2016 Presidential election, both candidates had distinct outlooks on immigration reform. Hillary, was committed to the immigrants' rights community where as, Trump was more focused on enforcing stronger immigration laws. Hillary Clinton's position on immigration reform was to be devoted to the nations incoming immigrants.
Immigration: Jill Stein, in contrast with Donald Trump, believes that immigrants are not to blame for economic troubles and “stealing jobs” instead it’s that “our jobs went overseas due to NAFTA and other free trade agreements.” In order to end the waves of immigrants coming in, Stein says we need to fix the economic problems that are sparked by the current American trade policies. Stein cites immigrants as the “backbone of our economy,” citing that “In Alabama, their tomato industry collapsed to the tune of billions of dollars when they passed very harsh anti-immigrant laws and the immigrants left town” and advocates for a welcoming path to legal residency. Stein wants to end deportations that separate families, and calls for an end to the war on immigrants, stating that the Green New Deal would do so. Stein does not believe in a pathway to citizenship for immigrants with criminal backgrounds.
For the immigration proposal what I think about immigration and the Mexico pay for the wall I think they should let immigrants come to the United States but on some of the reasons I don’t because in the article it says an immigrant broke into a 64-year old ladys house and beat her to almost to her death but some immigrants cross to get a better education and to see a different prospective in life. In the information it was talking about how some americans were loosing there jobs due to immigration population, and that the minomon wage is going down and that today nearly 40% black teenagers are unemployed and nearly 50% of Hispanics are unemployed. In the earlier text it says that all illegal aliens in gangs should be apprehended and deported,
Furthermore, your immigration reform plan has far too many flaws and it is absurd. It is incredibly cruel to want to end birth right citizenships, require that Americans get jobs over immigrants, and enhance penalties for overstaying a visa. This country has always been a land of immigration, and suddenly deciding to deny foreigners’ rights is immoral and uncalled for. We have economic and religious freedoms, the freedom of speech, and the right of suffrage. With your reform plan, freedom will cease to exist. This is exactly the opposite of what our founding fathers would have wanted. Racism continues to be a rampant problem in America, and your proposals will only further the issues we have.
The Democratic Party supports an immigration reform that will eventually create a path way to citizenship, as President Obama mentioned on his speech “We will extend the promise of citizenship to those still struggling for freedom. Today’s immigration laws do not reflect our values or serve our security, and we
Immigration is currently a hot topic within in the United States government. Currently the United States Congress is fighting to decide the fate of the Dreamers, and the Immigration bill DACA. Like many controversial issues within the government, the Democrats and Republicans are in a disagreement on what to do. Each article, examines a different take on the current immigration reform. Bier’s main argument is that individuals who are contributing to immigration reform are ignorant, that Immigrants are not hurting the American Labor market. The next article, I examined, was written by Eric Cantor; Cantor states that although the parties each have a high stake on the decision Congress makes on DACA, there must be a decision otherwise, the law will remain status quo. Next, we look at Gessen’s article, the main argument is that immigrants should not be looked at valuable or illegal, they should not have to be talented in order to be welcome within the United States. Lastly, Vargas, an undocumented Immigrant, discusses the difficulties of being illegal within the United States, yet still shines light on the positive influences he had throughout his childhood and time in America.
Immigration has been a major issue in the United States, especially after the Immigration and Naturalization Act of 1965 was passed. Once the act became a law, the immigration flow increased. Most of the immigration was from people crossing the border that splits Mexico and the United States. The Democrats and Republicans have fairly different views on this issue. The Republican Party believes that a system should be put in place to ensure that illegal immigrants do not receive the same benefits as people who have always been in the United States legally. Although, the party does not completely agree on how extreme the system should be. One thing most Republicans do agree on is that giving illegal immigrants amnesty only encourages immigration and puts the safety of American citizens at risk.
