This is a highly debatable topic, one that many may or may not have considered arguing. While it has been around for quite some time, numerous individuals have yet to hear about assisted death. What is assisted death? Is it ethically and morally right? Are doctors even allowed to assist in the deaths, after all, aren’t they supposed to preserve life? Even when doctors are allowed to assist, when is it acceptable for them to make that call? At what point does an individual get a “pass” at death and it not be considered “suicide”? So many questions that countless individuals have and they are all legitimate questions. I would like to talk about a few points of each to help understand what the difference is between the two. Then argue my stance on why I think that assisted death should be allowed providing the proper circumstances are met. I will be covering what euthanasia is and what the two forms of it are, the dignity in dying, the responsibility of doctors and what their roles are, and finally my stance on why it’s important to allow assisted death. When you hear the word euthanasia you imagine an animal being put to sleep, not particularly a human being. However, it is something that is being done and utilized, but in order for it to happen there are certain criteria that have to be met.
