One of the major problems in the world is about the non-sense atheism. They believe that life can have meaning without God-belief. This argument seemed to be puzzling to me because even if it is true, they have nothing to prove about the existence of God. Though they have nothing to prove, there are indicators that atheism is widely spreading and in fact, there are approximately more than half of the world’s population that does not believe in God. And there are also more than 90% of the world’s scientists too.
And in this paper, I will argue that this argument about atheism is wrong about questioning the existence of God. I will prove and defend that God does really exists.
What is atheism? Why would someone be an atheist? Why do people fear and dislike atheism? Simply stated, atheism is the lack of belief in a god or gods. Granted, atheists are each individuals and undoubtedly each of them prescribe [to] many different philosophies on life, politics and morality as do Christians. However, though atheists may choose to gather collectively for whatever purpose, unlike Christianity, atheism is not a belief system. An individual who identifies himself as an atheist is merely stating that he does not believe in [the existence of] god or gods. Atheism, as indicated by its name, is the opposite of theism which is belief in at least one god; to include polytheism (belief in many or more than one god) and monotheism
Atheism believes there is no God by faith. Their view of the beginning of the universe is totally scientific. They believe everything in universe came into existence from nothing at a point in the past. I can use an example
debates in the present day. Since God is a notion about an entity that was never seen or heard from by anyone, it has been a strenuous struggle to substantiate his existence. Yet, great philosophers have always found a way to validate the idea of God through their own way of reasoning. The philosophical discussions about God’s existence began with pre-modern philosophers such as Plato, Saint Augustine, and it was further examined by modern philosophers such as Descartes etc. In this essay I
In this paper, I will argue against the problem of evil, and I will give an adequate amount of information to prove why I believe Rowe’s Problem of Evil argument is not cogent, because although it is strong, all the premises are not true. This paper will also include me explaining, discussing, and evaluating Rowe’s Problem of Evil argument. In the argument, he discusses logical reasonings about why there is a strong argument for why atheism is true.
One burning and enduring problem in philosophy to which we have given considerable examination is the question of the existence of God--the superlative being that philosophers have defined and dealt with for centuries. After reading the classic arguments of St. Anselm and St. Thomas Aquinas, the contentious assertions of Ernest Nagel, and the compelling eyewitness accounts of Julian of Norwich, I have been introduced to some of the most revered and referenced arguments for and against God's existence that have been put into text. All of them are well-thought and well-articulated arguments, but they have their holes. The question of God's true existence, therefore, is still not definitively answered and put to rest; the intensity of this
As the world grows, diversity follows. With this diversity different faiths, or even lack of, are created; one being Atheism. Atheism is the unbelief of God or any other supreme being. Atheism is becoming more present within the community which sometimes leads to criticism. Since Christianity is the is the polar opposite of Atheism, their beliefs, practices, and symbols (or lack of) are bound to clash. Nonetheless, Atheism continues to grow.
Evolution proves that there is no reason to credit the design of the universe to God, and therefore, atheists have no reason to believe that God does exist. It is much more logical for atheists to base their beliefs on something that exists rather than on possibilities that have no way of being proven. With that said, atheists can reasonably believe that there is no God or designer of the universe because there is no evidence showing that there is. Using the strength of Darwinian theory, it can be hypothesized that the universe came from no intentional designer. Rather, it came from the unplanned and mindless processes of natural selection. A look into nature reveals such processes; slow and gradual changes have been found in the historical
The question of whether or not God exists is central to many modes of understanding and systems of knowledge, both theological and philosophical, and the implications of the answer to this question are quite far reaching indeed. The very fabric of reality depends upon the knowledge that this question seeks to obtain, and the manner in which an investigation of God's existence (or non-existence) is conducted and the specific inquiries that are made in this regard have their own implications on understandings in all areas of human knowledge and action. The following presents a point-by-point examination and refutation of one specific argument that has been raised as "proof" that God cannot exist.
* Respond to "I don't believe that God exists. How can anybody be sure?" Recognize that, logically, neither atheism nor agnosticism make sense. Atheism requires complete knowledge of everything (which no human has) in order to declare for certain that there is no God. Agnostics claim that they can't know anything for sure, but it's a contradiction to say, "One thing I know about God: You can't know anything about Him." Explain the evidence for God's existence: Every effect has a cause (Both science and the Bible acknowledge that the universe had a beginning, and that it couldn't have arrived without a force behind it), Every creation has a Creator (Nature itself points toward its Creator and reveals what He is like), Every design has a Designer
In the following paper, I will attempt to argue for the existence of God and that God is the cause of existence because God is existence and nothing exists separate from God.
Atheism, though many believe that it is one, is not supposed to be considered as a religion. Hedges (2009) argued that atheism does not meet many of the requirements in order for it to be considered as a religion. For instance, a religion requires a Deity, disregarding whether it is a divine or wicked, to be worshipped by the members, which we know for a fact that atheists are lacking of.
Does God exist? That is the question that so many scholars, peasants, governments, and individuals have been trying to answer from the beginning of human civilization to the present and beyond. Every group in the history of mankind, from Taiwan to Jamaica, from the top of Russia to the bottom of Chile, has said yes to a form of divinity. Their religions have ranged from one God to one million Gods to no God and these religions have defined culture, tradition, lifestyle, and the society of the place; they have ruled nations and defined nations, inspired nations and controlled nations. Not every person has been a believer but every culture has had a belief. Yet somehow, despite this vast evidence that there must be something or else
When I was in third grade, I was reading an English textbook, when I noticed an interesting side note to a short story. The story, a Native American myth, contained a note stating something along the lines of "Early native people created stories such as this to explain a world they had no scientific understanding of." For some reason, this side note stuck in my head so when I reexamined this part of my life and was able to put this up against the knowledge that most civilizations throughout history have created myths and religion for this same reason (Such as Greek myths involving the sun), I came to the conclusion that all religions were probably just remnants of this type of thinking.
The first type of Agnosticism is Strong Agnosticism. Strong Agnostics not only don’t believe in a god, but they would go as far to say that no one can or does know if any god exist. They argue that there is no clear evidence that a god exist. Strong agnosticism is hard to defend, because their definition of god and someone else's may be different as it would be with any religion. Overall Strong Agnostics will need a lot of evidence
According to this argument, regardless of whether or not God exists, you will lead a better life believing in Him. If you do not believe in God (atheism), you will either gain nothing, because He does not
