The World Champion of 1988, 1990 and 1991, Brazilian Ayrton Senna proved himself as one of the greatest drivers and sportsman until his death at the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix at Imola.
Everyone's heard it. “He was the best driver that ever lived”. “Sennas the best”, “The best F1 driver ever”. Nobody ever question Ayrton Sennas skill with a Formula 1 car. Ayrton Senna was born on March 21st, 1960 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. His father was a businessman and ran his own car firm. Not a lot is known about Ayrtons childhood, but one thing is known. His racing career began when his father gave him a go kart on his fourth birthday. He practiced for four years before he could legally compete in karting competitions. And when he did, it was quite a sight. He won first time out, and would go on to win the Sao Paulo Championship, followed by the National Championship. He would win the National Championship several times, and won the South American Championships five times in a row. During this time he also competed in several European events including the World Championship and although he never won it, he impressed many people. He certainly stood out from the crowd, he raced in black pants, a white shirt and a bright yellow helmet with a blue and a green stripe, which represented the Brazilian Flag.
In 1981, when he was 21, he started

When someone thinks of Ford Motor Company, one of the first things that comes to mind is the Mustang. Carroll Shelby revolutionized the world of cars, especially with his work on the Ford Mustangs. Carroll was not only a racecar driver, but he also created racecars and street legal vehicles. He is a member of the Automotive Hall of Fame and the International Motor Sports Hall of Fame, just to name a few, and in 1956 and ’57 was named Driver of the Year by Sports Illustrated. Shelby died March 10, 2012 at the age of 89, and in this speech I hope that I can convince you that he is more than worthy of the prominent place he holds in the history of performance vehicles.

If you like teaching, you would probably study to be a teacher. If you like engineering, you would study to be an engineer. But, if you like Dragster car designing and racing, then you would read this essay. This will explain the basics of a Dragster Racing, how you would race and test a Dragster Car and what vocabulary you need to know for the Dragster car’s function and structure.
NASCAR is one of the most rapidly growing sports in the world. There are people who think that NASCAR is just a bunch of hicks going around in circles, but it takes skill to drive at two-hundred miles per hour. I am going to talk about the history of NASCAR, early drivers of NASCAR, the three NASCAR divisions, the rules, and the new technology.
“I had never even heard of Dale Earnhardt until he crashed into eternity, but now here I am writing a column about him” (King, 64). This reaction, recorded by Florence King in National Review, seems to be a common one since Earnhardt’s death in the Daytona 500. Dale Earnhardt was a driver in the Winston Cup circuit for the National Association of Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR). Despite the fact that he is arguably the most popular NASCAR driver, many people did not know who he was until he died. It is sad to realize that sometimes it takes death to become recognized. However, Dale is not the only NASCAR driver who is becoming known from his death. In a span of nine months, Tony Roper, Adam Petty,

Travis Ruhland’s book, Caring for Kait, ties into the discussion of adult development and aging that we have been having in this course well. Though this book’s focus, Kaitlyn, did not get the chance to live life into old age, there are still relevant themes that can be found in the narration of her battle with cancer. I will examine themes related to aging that I found in her husband’s narration of her battle with cancer: memory changes, feelings of control and lack thereof, and spirituality.

There are forty-five drivers on the NASCAR Nextel Cup; every single one of them is white. There has never been a person of color to drive a racecar in the Winston Cup or the Nextel Cup. That's about to change, or some hope it does. NASCAR'S chief operating official George Pyne has teamed up with Magic Johnson and started a program to help encourage minorities to try to race. There is one black driver on the NASCAR truck series and a couple in smaller race series down south, but to this day none are on the Nextel Cup series.
If you see them driving on the road, they are probably swerving around trying to stay on the road because they can’t manage two things at once. Most of the time on the interstate you will find them cruising along at about 50 in the fast lane, blocking traffic due to the fact they are oblivious that they are going under the speed limit. When they are in a city traffic setting, often times they will run red lights, and make other fatal traffic errors. They would be decent drivers, if the distractions were removed from the car!
