I would put the presentation together by first asking the students what they know about college. I would probably bring a bag of candy (ask about any food allergies) to help the conversation. Everyone loves candy! I would tell them my college experience after asking them what they know about college. I would lay out the main points by telling them first the academic aspect such as how to choose your classes, how to best utilize your advisor, academic resources around campus, choosing your major, ways you can pay for college if you don’t think you can afford it, etc. I would then lay out my second main point which would be the social aspect of college. I would explain them how to get involved and how important that is to your college experience.
The topic I choose to do my term project on was looking at college as a subculture. The definition of subculture is a cultural group within a large culture. These groups often have similar beliefs or interests. Everybody who attends college and be put into a category of a subculture.

My visual aid was the strongest part about my speech. I brought in the ingredients to make Tiramisu to show which brands I like to use for the recipe. I also prepared Tiramisu for the class as my hold interest technique. To relate the topic to the audience, I told them that they could make this recipe when they want to impress someone. My credibility was also convincing as I informed the class I had researched and compiled the best recipe. My introduction in general was concise and convinced the audience pay attention to the rest of my speech. I also thought my tone was conversational and not too formal.
I hope I will be able to divulge to them many of the resources I myself have utilized to obtain my goals. Programs such as the Equal Opportunity Program which I was able to use to assist in my quest for higher education, but I would not have known about had I not had a guidance counselor provide this information to me, information on different career opportunities and how to draw on ones on skills and passions to obtain your own personal success is something I would really love to impress upon these students given the
I am comfortable with cultural norms for college students. Dressing for comfort is more often to be seen on a college campus. I dress with the majority on campus. I dress for comfort rather than business. There is a sense of comfort when dressing with most of a population because there are less chances for people to critique your look. However, each person can dress with the majority and still express themselves uniquely. Not everyone has the same style which makes standing out easier than before. Cultural expectations do not affect me. Picking out new clothes and trying to find trendy clothes is half the fun of shopping. This often results in following cultural norms and wearing what is trendy.
Some may wonder what are the struggles that a typical college student has to go through. In this interview, Maritza Marin explains the struggles she has to go through in her everyday life. College students have the hardest time paying off their student loans, but why? Well, most students usually pick their major based on their talents and their interests.(Source, Time) This idea sounds like a smart move, but in fact it is putting students in a very difficult situation. Since most majors end up making considerably less money in their first year out of college, it is becoming more and more difficult for majors in the humanities and arts to pay off their student loans.
However, there are some other places on campus where the Seven Deadly Sins are occurring. These sins are instigated in the gym and as well in and at sporting events. The physical education building is where countless hours of working out and showing off take place. For some it is not only for personal gain and strength, but for pride of being the healthiest or the one that is the strongest and can lift more weight than others around him this type of pride sometimes can lead to using illegal stimulants like steroids at the risk of death to enhance above others. Then there is rivalry in sports such as football where players are categorized from the best to the least. The athletes are regarded as first string, second string and third string.

There are social norms surrounding the consumption of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs, but it varies depending on the substance. For example alcohol doesn’t carry that heavy of a sigma towards society because it’s alcohol and about “half of Americans consume alcoholic beverages regularly” (Donatelle, 2016, p.232). College campuses function as a collective organization, meaning that all of the offices and departments play an integral role in making the college experience great. The departments need to work together to guide students in matters such as financial aid, class registration, student accounts, and so many more. For example, if a new student were to contact the CONNECTIONs Orientation office and ask about their housing, the department secretary should either know how to answer the question, or know who to connect the student with. The current issue that we are finding on campus is that offices aren’t working together. Students are being directed to a different office, each time being told that the answer will be at the following office, and these types of experiences can make or break whether a student wants to come back to Kutztown University. Organizational structure and connectedness are necessary to avoid a dysfunctional campus environment.

Edward Peselman writes about social structure, social status, and social power in the essay "The Coming Apart of a Dorm Society." The essay begins with the commencement of freshman year at college, when the narrator moves into his dormitory along with five other young men from different walks of life. Not only are the six freshmen from different backgrounds, but they also demonstrate unique personalities. Dozer and Reggie are the narrator's two roommates. Eric, Mark, and Benjamin lived across the hall. Because they occupy the same geographic space, the six men develop a sort of pecking order. They create an artificial power structure in which some of the men, namely Erik and Mark, attempt to dominate the others. Ultimately, Benjamin buckles under the pressure and leaves the dorm: an act that the narrator lauds as being righteously subversive.
