Barack Obama is the forty-fourth and first black president of the United States of America. Obama was born in Hawaii on April 4th, 1961. He was raised as a black and white child since his mother was a white American and his father was a black kenyan (“Barack Obama: Life Before the Presidency”). Obama served as senator of Illinois before his being elected as president, however, his journey towards becoming senator wasn’t an easy one (“Barack Obama: Life Before the Presidency”). Barack Obama, overall, beat all odds in order to get to be president of the United States.

Obama: the first black President in American history. How did he become the President of the United States? One thing is for sure, he could not have become President without the 15th Amendment. The 15th Amendment is a key document that has had a great influence in America throughout the years, and still affects people today. The 15th Amendment disallowed discrimination in voting based on race and came about after the Civil War during the period of Reconstruction and Civil Rights movements, with its immediate impact being major backlash from Southerners and women, but as time went on it lead to the Voting Rights Act of 1965, and Obama being elected to the office of President; it has roots in Christianity with passages such as Galatians 3:28

Barack Obama the 44th first African American President of the United States of America has showed leadership throughout and before his presidency. For twenty years Obama had worked his way up to become president and instilled the “Yes We Can” motto embedded in American tradition.

Barack Obama has impacted America in many ways since he was elected the 44th president on November 4th, 2008. The first African American president of the United States has taken the world by storm and done many great things for this country. Barack Obama has accomplished many things in his personal life, and also as the president of the United States. Obama has affected the world financially, economically, and rebuilt our image as a nation.

President Barack Obama did many things to get to the positions he is at now.” Obama himself struggled with his mixed-race identity and sought to figure out how he fit in with the rest of the world”(Source B). He also had many problems growing up and many complications to get through school since he didn’t have much money. But Obama showed great appreciation for the things he had. He went out in his community becoming a great leader. Not only did he go out in his community and be a leader, But he showed great leadership, as a senate and as a president.Barack Obama was more than just an ordinary President, but he showed great leadership, hard work and cared for others than himself.

There was three ways “A Dream Fulfilled: The Story Barack Obama” impressed me. One way he impressed me, was how he handle being biracial at the time period of the civil rights movement. Barack having a Kenyan Father and a White American Mother during the middle of the civil rights movement. For example, the book describes Barack resist being a racist himself because at this time everyone is pointing fingers at each other. He stays clear and still be accepting to other. Another way he impressed me, that he’s genuinely wants to help people. He was just in it to become president for selfish reasons. For example, he was a community organizer. The job has low pay and work with stubborn people. He accepted this job because he truly wanted to help

Obama met Michelle Robinson in 1989 in Chicago’s law firm of Sidley Austin as a summer associate and not too long after that they began to date. Obama was a civil rights attorney, community organizer in Chicago where he helped rebuild communities that was devastated by the closure of the local street plants and a teacher at University of Chicago Law School before pursuing a political career. The time Obama spent helping rebuild the communities he that this time of his life “the best education I ever had, better than anything I got at Harvard Law School” (1). For Obama, he explains that from that experience is what contributed to finding his identity and forming the path that he has taken whilst in the white house. Barack Obama won the election in November 4th 2008 and then took office on January the 20th 2009, these two dates were significant days for America.

Occasionally Obama's father Obama Sr., would come to visit them in Hawaii. Obama wished his father would stay and when he left it devastated him. This is a tremendous, and outstanding achievement; however, he has done more during his tenure as president than simply break the color barrier. He has brought many changes to America while in office. Some of the changes reflect: lowered unemployment rates, reduced prison sentences for convicts serving outdated and excessive harsh sentencing laws, and legalized marijuana in some states. While those are some significant changes, I believe President Obama’s greatest achievement is the passing of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) which promoted economic, social, and health care prosperity for all U.S. citizens.

In addition, African Americans were observed as the less dominate individuals, and were frequently discriminated against because of the color of their skin. Yet in 2008, Barack Hussein Obama II was elected the 44th and current president, correspondingly the first African-American president of the United States of America. He was born in the beautiful state of Hawaii. Barack Obama is a politically successful man, yet growing up was not easy on him. Yet today Barack is currently the most realistic agent of change.

Barack Obama was born in 1961 in Hawaii. He graduated from a high school in Hawaii then went on to many different colleges. After college he became a professor for constitutional law at the University of Chicago. In 2004 he became one of the United States senators. In 2007 he started his journey to becoming the first african american to become president of the United States. He ran into trouble with running for president when his old time pastor spoke about race regulation in the United States. Senator Barack Obama wrote his speech A More Perfect Union in Reading the World, and he was responding to what Reverend Jeremiah Wright his long-time pastor had said and about the racism in this country. Obama use pathos, ethos, and logos throughout his entire speech. Wright had talked about in one of his sermons how the government had created HIV to get rid of all the colored people. His sermon went viral and people used his sermon against obama in his election for president. Obama wrote his speech to explain to the people why he disagreed with Wright and the racial divide in the United States.
