Who is educated and who is not? In today’s world education rules, unlike a few decades ago people could have a career without having a high school diploma, college degree, or some type of certification. Today’s society and jobs are ruled by the high and middle class, which are mostly likely highly well educated people. While the lower class are at the bottom of the barrel. Most likely due to the lack of education. But when it comes down to the topic of who is educated and who is not it can go both ways. Cause no one person is really more educated than the next.
There are only two type of people in this world, people who have book smarts and people who have street smarts. People who have book smarts can work with their brains, where people

Most would say cause one has an education and the other dosent. Which is true , but who is to say that the drafter’s are supieror to the workers? After all the drafter’s only know what they pay to be taught out of book for three are more years, then someone hands them a twenty thousand dollar are more price piece of paper that says they know what they are doing. Versus the construction worker with no degree who has been working in construction for five or more years who is being paid to learn his job, and actually having experice in the field. Now I will ask you again who is more educated the designer or the worker? Now im sure you don’t know. Cause now you see both are educated and they both possess knowledge about construction but from two different aspects. Now see if the construction worker and the drafting desing artist switch place’s, then they would have a well rounded education of the career instead of a piece. Can they do eachother’s job? Yes! If the worker goes back to school and receive a degree on drafting design. Then the worker can go in to business and contarct his self out because he knows how to design and construct. And if the desiner go to work the the worker’s. He can learn new things to help him come up with the plans of a new building. Moral of the essay no one person is more educated than the
With America growing at the rate it is, it is very important to grow with it. College is the best way to prepare someone to be out in the workforce and survive. Going to college is not essential for success, but it will give someone the extra skills that will help them in their career and in life. College helps people get a good job, prepares them for adult life, and will help them make more money.
The issue being debated in the article “Hidden Intellectualism” by Gerald Graff is street smarts versus book smarts. Gerald Graff is an English professor at the University of Illinois and has written many books. The author claims that people are better off if they are more street smart than book smart. The authors is very persuasive using real life examples. I although disagree with this claim. I think that you need an equal mix of both street and book smarts.
Most people believe that the only way to be intelligent is to go to school and earn a degree. It is also believed a person who may not have gone to school or paid much attention whilst in school may not be as smart as someone who has. There are many people who did not have the privilege of going to school or maybe they did not want to be in school and dropped out. These people probably started working at a younger age than most people. These kinds of people are discussed in Gerald Graff’s “Hidden Intellectualism” and Mike Rose’s “Blue-Collar Brilliance”. These people are known as blue collar workers.Although, white collar jobs require a degree and intelligence blue collar workers are just as if not more intelligent than white collar workers because they are street smart rather than book smart , have more experience, and have good social skills.
College can be very helpful in more ways than just giving people more head knowledge. I do not disagree that people will benefit from learning a trade skill. In my personal opinion I think we should teach the basics of some trade skills in high school, and let the student decide if a college education is something they want to pursue. After coming to a college I do see that people should come even if it is for two years. The debt is always in issue when coming to school, but there are plans you can make to pay them off. Coming to college can do a lot to help anyone, but for the students that are coming right out of high school, college can be a safe place for them to experience the real world. In some cases it can give them some much needed
Coming to college has shown me information and knowledge I never thought I was capable of learning and it will be knowledge I will use for the rest of my life. I came to college last year for my own personal growth and to expand my horizons. I thought about what I wanted to do after high school and continuing my education was number one on my list. I’m here simply to better my future, expand my knowledge, increase my potential, and learn more about myself. I want to make my family and myself proud by completing college and getting a degree. Bettering my future and making sure I have the information to be able to do my future career is my top priority because it’s the only thing I have continually been working for since the 9th grade. Expanding my knowledge in these courses that will soon get me to the school I need to be at is a compelling reason for me to stay motivated enough to wake up in the morning and push myself to come to school. I hope to increase my potential and develop into
At the moment allot of people not only in the united states but in the world are indecisive about going to college. Some of them are scared of the hardwork and dedication that they would have to commit to but the money that they would have to pay. There are alot of people that didn't go to college and are very successful. Although teachers make it seem like its a requirement to go to college, it’s not, it’s the students decision. It is not gonna help the teachers out when people go to college.
Coming to college is a monumental thing for me and having the opportunity to go to the College of Design is equally as big and frightening. I am excited and ready to start the school year and to learn all that I can during my studio classes but I am worried about the time commitment it entails. I see this as a challenge though. A challenge I’m willing to go through. I would say this is my biggest concern about the College of Design but not my only one. I have seen examples of older student’s work and seen how they have improved tremendously and although that fills me with awe and ease, I still feel a sense of worry because it takes me a small amount of time to pick up new methods of learning.
Ever since I was young, I had always thought anyone could go to college, that college was the next step after high school. Although this is technically true, there are people that cannot go to college like other students. Whether it is because of money or conflicts within the family, there are some people that never got the chance to have a higher level of education.
As a result of several motivational purposes, there are many driving factors to go to college that can and will impact one’s life. Before going to college, I waited 2 ½ years after I graduated high school to finally make my decision to go to college. The reason it took me so long is that I did not know what I wanted to do with my life. First, I wanted to be a probation officer, then I changed my mind to be an OBGYN, then finally I made the decision to become a nurse. I know I have a long road of schooling ahead of me, but that is okay. I have wonderful people in my life that encourage me to continue my studies. Going to college is important since it can open many opportunities to get into a better career field, it is a fun experience, and it can also start a tradition in my family.
Going to college and having an education is the must impotent thing I can do to succeed in life. One, of my reason for going to college, is the better my life. The way I can better my life is with a good education. Going to school it no easy job to do, you have to work hard and manage you time. Personally, to make a decision of going to college was hard, I been trying to go to a college of the last ten year of my life. By going to college expand my knowledge and used that has a tool to do better in my future. The second reason, why I'm going to college is because I want to have more in life. In my experience no having a good education you have to work so hard to get what you want. By going to college, I'm making a big sacrifice but I know
The main reasons why I chose to go to college was, get better education for myself, be a role model for my children and to earn my degree to get a high paying job.
College is awesome in many different ways. When you are in college, you have the independence and freedom to do anything that you would like to do. Another good thing about college is the variety of courses that different colleges offer, and also chance to focus on what you really want to do as a career. Although all colleges are different, they all have to same goal. To help and to see students become successful.
Going to college was always an important aspect to me. Coming from a home where the highest level of education was a GED, making something of myself has been a substantial goal that I’ve always yearned. When I was in the 8th grade, I was determined to become a veterinarian. It’s become somewhat apart of who I am. Going to college means that I’m one step closer to progressing to my goal. My goal to actually make something of myself that no one thought I could legitimately achieve.
I think that cultures want to achieve literacy for several reasons. One of which is strictly an economic benefit which comes with a population being literate. If you look at the power houses of the world most of those who are citizens in the country are literate. Being literate allow them to communicate with other through writing and form contracts. Another reason some may want to achieve literacy is purely from the standpoint that they don't want to be viewed as a savage culture. We tend to view a culture that is illiterate as savage or primitive which obviously brings negative connotations.
What do most of the great men and women in history all have in common? They all went to college to further their knowledge. Kanye West even went to college for a short time. The benefits of having a college degree depend on what you want to do with your future. A college degree can help you establish a stronger knowledge in the field that you are hoping to work in. College is an opportunity for you to discover different fields of study. It’s adventurous to go out and experience a new form of knowledge, as well as a new form of friendship. Another wonderful benefit to a college degree is that it gives you the satisfaction of knowing that you never have to go to school ever again. In my degree, I would have to continue my education, but some
