This has got to be the easiest kind of yoga, since the only thing that actually matters is the fact that you have to laugh. People find this kind of yoga unusual, however, it is actually pretty good for the mental and physical well-being of a person. There are about 400 laughter yoga clubs all over the United States and thousands all over the world.
WHAT IS LAUGHTER YOGA?
Basically, laughter yoga is a kind of yoga that involves voluntary laughter, this was because it is believed that voluntary laughter affects the psychological and physiological aspect in a really good way, since it also has the same benefits as spontaneous laughter. This kind of yoga is most commonly done in groups, that involves eye contact and jokes between the group. The reason is so that the forced laughter may turn into an actual and contagious laughter. This was first practiced during the 90s, where group of old people would go to the park and just laugh. In a yoga class, an approximate of 10-15 minutes of laughter is what you will do, it is not just an ordinary short giggle, but a loud and deep belly laugh, that needs to come straight from the diaphragm. If you will try the laughter yoga, you must be open-minded and is willing to participate, because the philosophy of laughter yoga is to basically maintain a playful and childlike sense. Most people rely on sense of humor just to laugh, but with laughter yoga, you will basically commit to laughing on an everyday basis, to actually teach your mind and your body to laugh even if nothing is funny. Yoga is a comprehensive system of mind/body techniques that is thousands of years old. Its techniques are designed to improve physical and mental health and well being, and include such practices as physical postures and stretching, breathing exercises (pranayama), focused concentration, meditation, visualization, and chanting (mantra) (Desikachar, 1999; van der Kolk, 2014).
To laugh is defined as: “to express certain emotions, especially mirth or delight, by a series of spontaneous, usually unarticulated sounds often accompanied by corresponding facial and bodily movements” (Dictionary, 2013). This simple act has been suggested to boost immunity, lower stress hormone, decrease pain, relax muscles, and prevent heart disease (Smith & Segal, 2012), and those are just the physical health benefits. Other studies have suggested that laughter is a great way to ease anxiety and fear, relieve stress, improve mood, and even enhance resilience (Bennett et al., 2003). Yoga provides excellent mind and body exercise that will help with strengthening muscles, keeping your body flexible - and relaxing your mind.
The instructor of the yoga class was Amanda, who is a current student at Rowan University. Yoga is an exercise that enables people to relieve stress, balance emotions and relax and strengthen their muscles at the same time. Amanda had many different objectives that she wanted each participant to accomplish by the end of the yoga class. She wanted us to be able to relieve our stress and feel better about ourselves through a relaxed exercise. Not only does yoga relive stress, it also builds muscle strength and coordination.

The benefits of Yoga are endless. It effects the human mind and body in a variety of ways. Roughly 15 million Americans practice yoga, annually there is an expected increase of twenty percent in participants in the United States ("Yoga Statistics"). While Yoga is often thought of as a practice that involves circus like poses and seemingly impossible flexibility; it not. Even bedridden patients can gain benefit from imagining themselves going through the poses and practicing breathing techniques that are appropriate to them (Dickenson 24-25).
