Beowulf contains lots of action. Too many fights to count with lots of split blood. He fights monsters of all kinds some more challenging then others. With all the fights he always comes out as the savior of the day. Beowulf shows many characteristics of an epic hero such as his amazing strength, his unbreakable bravery, and his funny but serious boasting. Let's star by talking about his amazing hulk like strength. Here is a quote from the fight with Grendal and Grendal's thoughts of Beowulf. "Knew at once no where on earth/ Had he met a man whose hands were harder" (Lines 433&434). It shows that Grendal had never before been challenged by strength in all of his killings, but now Beowulf was over powering him. It also says on line 435 his mind was flooded with fear. It's weird seeing that because Grendal is this strong monster that puts fear into everyone else, but now Beowulf's strength is putting fear into Grendal. Here is another quote for the fight with Grendal. "He twisted in pain,/And bleeding sinews deep in his shoulder/ Snapped muscle and bone split/ And broke" (Lines 496-499). This line is telling us about Beowulf tearing Grendal's arm off with his bare hands and finishes the fight. This part is crazy because it also says in the poem that no sword could pierce Grendal's skin because it was covered by evil magic. That should give a good look into the strength of Beowulf and how much stronger he was compared to a normal human being, and if that doesn't then I don't
