At the Jefferson Memorial when we got there the Jefferson Memorial was busy and everybody was taking a lot of pictures.

We were on our way to White House got tickets for a tour there and after we were done in the White House we took some pictures and we saw a bunch of police motorcycles and then we saw him in his limo and then there was more police.
Then we left to go to another part of Washington D.C. and we got to see the Washington Memorial. We got to go and hug it, but the elevator was broken so we couldn't go to the top and see over Washington
The day was finally here. It was November 11, 1990, the day that our family was to go to ¡®Land Of Liberty.¡¯ I heard so many different things about this country called United States of America and I was warned that it would be nothing you¡¯ve expected. The plane ride did not seem as long as it was; partly because I was lost in my own thoughts with hopes and anxiety. I thought about what I will become in this massive country I was headed and how soon I will adapt to this new culture and people.
I remember my first day in America like it just happened yesterday! I moved to America from India when I was just 12 year old. When I started my journey to America, I was getting mixed feelings, one side I was excited to go to America I saw in movies and wanted to be a part of great American culture but on the other side I was feeling sad about leaving behind my friends and place I was born and spent my childhood. But when Pilot announced that we are about to reach to Houston in 30 minutes I got anxious and opened my seat window. When I looked Houston through plane window, cars on freeway looked like ants’ running in one line and that was really
We got on the plane knowing we would be there for a while. My sister and I were looking out the window in amazement. The sky was so blue it felt like i was looking at a painting. It was so beautiful we had never seen something like this. We stopped at many places. Italy was the highlight for us. Our first view of america was washington DC. I saw my mom's family for the first time in a long time. After a few hours We got back on the
It was a sunny day here in New Jersey, I was getting ready to go see the Twin towers memorial the next day."Julie! Come down here please we need to talk!"said my mother.
It was until an average Tuesday that I actually saw dates and arrangements of the first President to come to Kotzebue, Alaska. I was in the Music Room passing the time by fooling the teacher that I am his new student. The Bell rang at 2:30 p.m. and I had to meet with my boss for my new internship at 3:00 p.m. Which gave me plenty of time to fool the overwhelmed teacher. He was so enthusiastic and gay, he sang loud, and encouraged everyone to smile. I could not fathom why he was in such a good mood. He handed me a sheet of paper that was title “Presidential Ceremony Agenda”. It was an agenda that was for the class for the next week. I asked more about it and to my surprise the President of the United States of America was coming to Kotzebue.
It was the best place I had ever been and it came and left. I wanted more to time. I wanted to spend more time at the Steven F. Udvar Hazy Center. That was one of my favorites because there was so much to see, especially the plane that bombed Hiroshima. Also at the Arlington National Cemetery, I truly wanted to walk around more and see the graves of those who have fallen. One the first day I was given the opportunity to visit the Jefferson Memorial. I already knew about Thomas Jefferson, so I didn’t expect to be surprised. I soon found out that I was wrong. Jefferson was a man of mystery, I figured out that he wanted an agricultural nation, were we farm. His statue was standing in front of
This summer I went to Maryland for the first time and met my family that is over there.
Once the president arrived, everyone got situated, the reported stood somewhere behind McKinley, along with other reporters and journalist, each preparing to write their stories. Our journalist, John Wells, watched closely as the doors opened. ”Securities” from back in those days escorted McKinley’s followers towards him for the meet and greet. McKinley humbly shook everyone’s hands and as the reported mentioned, “had kind words” for every single person.
At the Democratic National Convention in 1940, I made an impromptu speech that helped FDR win the election. He was running for president at the time, so I decided to give him my support. As a member of the Women’s Union and a First Lady, I would have to say that it was a big moment for him. He-he. The rallies were huge in celebrations when he did win with lots of happiness and joy in the air.
Then there was a big problem. The plane was blocking the elevator and I thought there some people alive so i open the door of the plane and found an open window on the plane and help tons of people who were still alive. Get through that window to that working elevator. Then I heard a Boom sound! I thought another plane hit the world trade center.
As the truck driver filled the car up with gas, I went into the store and got a took a gun off the wall and walked out without paying. I leaped back on the truck and kept quiet on the back until I arrived at Main Street in Dallas, Texas. Next, I dislodged myself from the truck and walked out into the crowd, who were waiting for the President to walk by. I noticed that I needed a way to get close to the president in order to get a close shot; then I encountered a porta potty with a secretary outfit attached to the top of it. I took it and put on the uniform. After disguising myself, I moved to the front of the mob and pulled the trigger on the BB gun and hit Mr. Kennedy in the neck. He was rattled, but I thought that I had killed him. I needed a way to escape because I was going to be tracked down and a man came up to me and said that I should hide out in his private jet which was parked 100 feet away. I took his advice and jumped into the jet which instantaneously flew away back to Tallahassee,
It was a cold winter day five days after Christmas when I have watched my mom pass away and there then at that moment, a flag was risen with my dad by my side and all my family members there for each other as a speech was given. Then at that moment as I was in tears I got to thinking what is our future going to be like later on in life? And how American History is going to change throughout our lives.
Every year, thousands of tourists flock to D.C. to visit the national landmarks and memorials. While there are a number of tourists that come from other lands to take in the rich American history, there are also just as many who visit the memorials with a profound sense of respect and patriotism towards our great country.
When we pulled into a driveway of a small farm everyone pilled out of the pickup and we were met by a guy coming out of the white house to our left. While my dad and the guy were talking, I examined the farm and immediately
It was about ten o'clock at night and only a couple people were on the dark and wet slimy street. Then out of nowhere a well trained cop came around the corner of the street checking the shop doors and spinning his night stick. The well trained police man started to walk up to me.
