Bill Clinton was the 42nd president of the United States. Elected in 1992 and sworn into office on January 20, 1993 Clinton lived a lively presidential life and broke many records as president. Clinton was the third youngest president ever elected and won his first ever presidential campaign. Clinton was slick and extremely well spoken. The man had a way with people that had never been seen before. Clinton gained his nickname as “The comeback kid” once he won the election even after being in dead last in the beginning of his campaign and the primaries. Clinton is a well known name and he achieved a lot during his presidency, and it all started in a small town in Arkansas. William Jefferson Clinton was not born with the last name Clinton. William was given the name William Jefferson Blythe III at his birth. Three months before Clinton’s birth his father, William Jefferson Blythe Jr. was killed in a car accident. Clinton’s mother Virginia left William to live with her parents after his birth so she could complete nursing school. Clinton 's grandparents both had very strong personalities, during a time of segregation Clinton’s grandmother, who owned a grocery store, opened her doors to people of all ethnicities and sold items on credit to anyone. After Virginia completed nursing school she returned home to Hope, a small town in Arkansas where her parents lived and where Bill was born on August 19, 1946.
