The Amazing Race is a popular show where pairs of family members or friends race around the world to compete for a million dollars. Blake Mycoskie along with his sister were one of the lucky pairs that were chosen to complete challenges in over thirteen different cities every day for three weeks. Blake started off on the show to compete for the million dollar prize, but that is not what ended up happening. Blake and his sister lost the million dollars; however, Blake found something worth more than anything money can buy. Giving back to those who are less fortunate. Blake never had time to stop and take in every little detail that was happening around him, so Blake and his sister decided to return to Argentina after the show. When competing
After the race, Dave is convinced to enter the cycling race against the college students by his friends. Yet, his friend Mike is hesitant about the competition commenting that maybe the university students are better. However, this comment is made because Mike became timid after he had challenged the college student to a race swimming in the quarry and lost because he had hit his head on a rock. During the race at the university, Dave becomes hurt. This scene shows how Dave and his friends try to overcome the stereotypes about
“Final call girl’s four by eight-hundred-meter relay” called the official. The Ontario Track girl’s four by eight-meter team trooped up to lane one, in unison. I would not have wanted to be racing with anyone else but my relay family. We had trained all season for this one race. Every workout, asthma attack, tear, and shin splint has lead up to this one race to break a twenty year old school record. As we jogged with the official from the bullpen to the starting line, the crowd had uproars of excitement for the athletes. An immense smile grew across my face, not only from the ecstatic crowd, but from the anticipation to race. I approached the starting line, in the first lane, while my teammates arrayed along the fence with the other second,

It was later that night, when Blake heard there was something wrong with Quin. He was taken to hospital in a coma! Blake was afraid, so he got all his friends Maggie and Russ together to talk. Blake told them he’d come up with an explanation for Quinn’s coma. He said that his invite to the park was missing and Quinn had stolen it and gone there somehow! Of course, his friends thought he was nuts, but he insisted on going to the park to investigate. So they drove to the amusement park. The park should have been closed at such a late hour, but it was open and running when they got there. Blake wanted into the park, but the guard would not let him in without an invitation. When Blake insisted his little brother was in the park, the guard heard someone talk over his headset and let him in, while explaining the rules of the park. The rules were: you must only ride seven rides and you must ride them all by six-o’clock. Once

We had Austin and Nolan to go. We planned to have Austin to go next because he did not have the upper body strength that we had. Jaden and myself would pull him up as Nolan pushed on his legs. Austin was that one kid in your group of friends that was just ridiculous just everything he did was silly and obnoxious. He is like the Trump in our group, no one thinks he can win anything but he stays with us because he is funny and strong in what he believes

The 2 minute gun went off! It wasn’t time to be sentimental, that wouldn’t win the day for us, but we all had the same thought on our mind: “Win this race for Andrew.” And before we all knew it, there we were, on the starting line about to run our race, and a few seconds later, Crack!, another pistol shot and the race had begun. Honestly, while I run my races, I tend not to think. I usually have a fairly catchy metal track glued to my head and I tend to only replay the song constantly in my mind until I would hit the 800m mark and my instincts would fire up my adrenaline. Today’s selection was Day by Day by Miss May I, and much like the namesake of the song, I tried to run my race stride by stride with all the heart and ability I could possibly give. I don’t remember finishing, but I do remember being handed the boys JV champions ribbon. As cliché as it might sound now, the Liberty Lions walked away from their home invite with some definite pride, and I have no doubts Andrew was smiling down on

According to Cinque McFarlane-Blake in his response to Rhome Balmeo’s inquiry about lessening the gap between the rich and the poor, the rich should try to create job opportunities for the poor. One of these opportunities could be urban farming and teaching the poor to grow food to sell to manufacturing companies or even small companies. I agree with Cinque McFarlane-Blake’s beliefs because in the United States, people who are poor, generally stay poor because of America’s social structure. With the help of the rich, or organizations that help people find jobs, the poor could learn skills that will, in turn, help them provide for their families and perhaps move up the social ladder. Several non-profit organizations such as homeless shelters,
October 24, 2014. . . the day before the cross country semi-state race. Emma, Trey, Aliya, Philip, Sarah, and I headed up to Brown County, so that we would not have to get up early the next morning. We first stopped at Brown County State Park to have a little practice running on the course. All of us ran together, but I ran with Emma and Alyia because Trey and Sarah ran by themselves to see what they could do on the course to improve the percentage of them moving on to state. Then, the next stop was Comfort Inn, our hotel that was about thirty minutes away from the course. After we unpacked, we all went to a Cheddar’s which stood right next to our hotel. Then, my coach, Philip, say, “Load up the bus because we are going to head into town and go shopping and go out to eat.”

Chris Peterson cut right in front of another car and that cause that car to spin hit another car. That
This passage from chapter one of this story is important because it tells where Scott lives and how he and his father had a close relationship with racing. His father died in a motorcycle accident and ever since then Scott's world has changed. Scott’s friend Terry believes he caused the accident because he was the one who accidentally rear-ended the bike. Terry feels terrible with guilt and does not want to talk or look at Scott again. Scott doesn't know Terry was involved in the accident and doesn't understand why he stopped being his friend. This has driven Scott to push forward to try to win the TT for his father. In the story, Scott sometimes describes how his father's loss has changed his life. Once he was doing a practice race with his best friends Neil and Dean and some other motorists, while he was leading the race he started getting images of his father which distracted him and made him lose his focus and lose the
