“Final call girl’s four by eight-hundred-meter relay” called the official. The Ontario Track girl’s four by eight-meter team trooped up to lane one, in unison. I would not have wanted to be racing with anyone else but my relay family. We had trained all season for this one race. Every workout, asthma attack, tear, and shin splint has lead up to this one race to break a twenty year old school record. As we jogged with the official from the bullpen to the starting line, the crowd had uproars of excitement for the athletes. An immense smile grew across my face, not only from the ecstatic crowd, but from the anticipation to race. I approached the starting line, in the first lane, while my teammates arrayed along the fence with the other second, …show more content…
Before being eligible to enter pharmacy school it is require to attend college for at least two year, however, it is common for some people to receive an undergraduate degree and then enter into pharmacy school (Pharmacist). Before entering into pharmacy school I, plan to take undergraduate coursework in physics, chemistry, biology, and calculus. And then after two years of college I, plan on entering pharmacy school. After entering in the pharmacy school it takes four years to obtain a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharmacy). A Doctor of Pharmacy means that after passing the North American Pharmacist Licensure Examination administered by the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) that you can demonstrate the necessary skills to safely distribute medicine (Pharmacy). Even after receiving a Doctor of Pharmacy many people choose to further the understanding of pharmacy through additional residencies and fellowships for an extra one to two years of education. Already in high school I have taken higher level math and sciences to prepare me for college. My math classes have included algebra one, geometry, algebra two, pre-calculus, and dual- credit calculus. My science classes have included earth science, biology, chemistry, and physics. After going through the necessary education to pursue a career in pharmacy I plan to jump right into the work force. A lot of hard work and dedication is required for me to obtain my goals but I am up to the
I enrolled in the Pharmacy Technician program at Milan Institute because I needed to prove to myself that it was something I could do. English is not my first language, but I knew I could learn. I wanted to have a good income to help support my family with a real career.
thousands of technicians become certified each year. Certification, however, does not test the abilities of the technician. It simply tests the knowledge required to complete various tasks. A technician being certified brings up additional implications involving questions of liability between the pharmacist and technician..
R.J. is a 15-year-old boy with a history of asthma diagnosed at age 8. His asthma episodes are triggered by exposure to cats and various plant pollens. He has been using his albuterol inhaler 10 to 12 times per day over the last 3 days and is continuing to wheeze. He normally needs his inhaler only occasionally (2 or 3 times per week). He takes no other medications and has no other known medical conditions. Physical examination reveals moderate respiratory distress with a respiratory rate of 32, oximetry 90%, peak expiratory flow rate (PEFR) 60% of predicted, and expiratory wheezing.
The highs and lows of competition have constructed in me into an entirely new athlete. My first year of track and field and I made it to Far East by qualifying in the 4x800 relay. I guess you could call it beginner's luck. I would call it dedication and confidence. After almost a week of running and jumping events, the time has come to announce the winners of the banners. With the awkward silence sitting and waiting for the results to be told along with the rest of the crowd, the announcer finally broke the silence. “The D2 Girls Track Champions of 2015 is Zama American High.” This one night as emotional as an groom seeing his bride walk down the aisle knowing that she is all his. Have you ever wanted to take a moment and breathe in the air of accomplishing your
A pharmacist’s education can consist up to eight years of high level education. To start pharmacists must earn a degree at a pharmacy school. Pharmacy hopefuls must already have at least two years of college education, to even have a chance of acceptance into a pharmacy school. Another requirement to get into a
Stride after stride after stride, I was oblivious to the pain in my calves or the sweat dripping down my forehead; the only thing on my mind was outdoing my summer's best time. After running close to six miles every day, I had no intention of breaking that streak. However, that hot July day I had no choice but to end it. At the halfway point, as I turned my body to look behind me, my left knee underwent a full lateral patellar dislocation. My hopes of becoming a UConn athlete subsequently came to a standstill, but I took it as a meaningful sign that I would have extra time to focus on my number one aspiration of getting accepted into pharmacy school and becoming a pharmacist.
Asthma is a condition of the bronchial tubes characterized by episodes of constriction and increased mucous production. A person with asthma has bronchial tubes that are super sensitive to various stimuli, or triggers, that can produce asthma symptom. In other words, asthmatics have special sensitivity that causes their lung tissue to react far more than is should to various stimulating factors or triggers. Have you ever stop and think how it will feel to stop breathing out of the sudden? Children that have bronchial asthma are suffering from this all the time. This can be really scary, and you may even panic because of not knowing what to do. In this project I studied what is the percent of children with this kind of condition and some of the medications with the respective treatment. Secondly, we explained what bronchial asthma is. And last but not least, I personally learned how to interpret charts, as well as finding current information with research purposes.
I finally have the strength to stand up, while leaning on a heavy rock. All around me are these green vines slashing at my face as I walk. One minute I’m staring out the window of an aeroplane, the next, struggling to breathe with smoke levels increasing, inside a broken jet. I must have passed out with the on and off condition that I have and all. Now, I don’t even know how to relax and just keep moving, hoping to see some human flesh. I look in all directions and faintly see the open sea. I see that I’m isolated in a creepy jungle, in nowhere. I just wish right now I was with my amazing aunty and in that delicious, sweet shop that she works in. Mmmmm… Sweets! I begin to daydream but then realise where I am and whinge. I’m quite exhausted
Hospitalizations due to asthma is a major health issue for Hillsborough County, Florida and was identified as being in the least favorable health category (Florida Department of Health, 2015). Hillsborough County had a rate of 1,096.2 asthma hospitalizations per 100,000 people in 2015 which was higher than the rate for the state of Florida and the top United States performers (Florida Department of Health, 2015). The purpose of this paper is to identify a community-based program to reduce the rate of asthma hospitalizations in an underprivileged community. Background information is identified about the East Tampa community including demographics, socioeconomic factors, and the national and

Asthma is one of the most common health problems in the United States that can not only affect patients' lives, at school or work, but also creates a significant burden on society. Diagnosis and management of asthma has traditionally been accomplished by clinical, exam, pulmonary function testing and patients perceived level of symptoms. The key factor in asthma is airway inflammation. Until recently, airway inflammation was very difficult to evaluate. It usually required invasive procedures that in some instances would not give us a complete answer. Without a knowledge of airway inflammation, clinicians can over or underestimate the severity of asthma and in turn may not provide the most effective
“Helping people on their path to better health” is a quote used by CVSHealth, I first heard it during the orientation for my pharmacy technician job. I love this quote because it really defines my purpose for wanting to be a pharmacist in the simplest way. My journey to becoming a pharmacists consist of why I selected pharmacy as a career, future goals, and my backgrounds that will help me achieve the goals that I set for myself.

The characteristics to become a pharmacist cannot be learned in college, it must be emphasized throughout the adolescent years. Some important features one needs to focus on are memorization, organization, being meticulous, and have a strong understanding of math and science. In the article “Top Skills You Need to be a Pharmacist”, the author states, “Before the pharmacist fills the prescription, they need to remember everything they learned […]. Pharmacists must know about hundreds of drugs — from their generic and brand names to their side effects and possible drug interactions” (Hart). Memorization is essential in order to be successful in this industry and is difficult to do. The organization skills of a future pharmacist must be top-notch because this field is based on it; medications need to be categorized by name, dosage amount, and amount of pills. Paying close attention to details is necessary as well because if there is
