As you enter Brett whiteleys studio in Sydney you are overwhelmed with his experinces and feel as if you are standing in whiteleys imagination. The high white and wide spread room creates a blank canvas like space, and the opportunity to take a journey with the artworks like whitely would have travelled creating them. You can feel the intamiacy and heart, put into in the artworks as you step into not only his gallery but his home showing art was truly his life. Studio walls covered in quotes, photographs and sovenirs scattered along to bookshelf and you discover that you are experiencing what influenced and inspired whitely in creation of the series “other places”
“The most fundamental reason one paints is in order to see” – brett Whiteley

If it was in the back of a cab sketching the buildings of new York or the glancing over the roof tops of Paris, whiteley translated his visions actively in the environemnts which he travels giving him a spark above other competitive artists.
"Drawing is the art of being able to leave an accurate record of the experience of what one isn't, of what one doesn't know. A great drawer is either confirming beautifully what is commonplace or probing authoritatively the unknown.”
1989 Whiteley created ‘the Great Dog pisses of Paris’. This piece is on a large scale with yellow ‘piss’, brown and mustard tones using pencil, plaster, paint and subtle uses of collage. Whitely didn’t glorify paris in this works at all. This artwork challenges the mainstream of ideas of what art should be with his choice of colour and the semi-abstract depth illustrated. What distincts whiteley as an artist is how he doesn’t censor the real world. Commonly you will find artists just draw what everyone one would like to see, if it’s a vibrant sunset or a pictureasque cityscape but whiteley goes for the mundane
On a rainy Saturday morning, I decided to go to the San José Museum of Art and view Night Shadows in the Crossroads: American Scene Prints from Thomas Hart Benton to Grant Wood exhibit. When I initially glanced at the artifact online, the simplicity and suspense of it left me wondering as to what the deeper meaning of it was. As I opened the door of the exhibition, my nose instantly absorbed the smell of dog food. The dim lights set a
Throughout his short lived life, Ryan White brought about awareness and educated many people about AIDS. He was born in Kokomo, Indiana and later became the face of AIDS during the mid 1980´s. White, being a hemophiliac, contracted the disease from a contaminated blood treatment. After being diagnosed with AIDS in December of 1984, the doctors gave White only six months to live. To the surprise of many, White lived five years longer than the experts predicted.
A 2011 shooting of Anthony Lamar Smith, a black driver by Jason Stockley a former white officer from St Louis resulted in a massive violent protest this September when Stockley was announced innocent and murder charges were dropped. The fact that victim was black caused such a massive outrage in the St. Louis city. Would the city respond the same however if the victim was white? It turns out no. In Fresno California unarmed Dylan Noble was shot by police. Officers had received a report of a man carrying a rifle but really just found noble speeding in his pickup truck. When he was pulled over at a gas station Noble got out of the truck and was acting suspicious.
The person I am doing for my essay is Wesley Isenhour (my dad). He has a wife named Liane and two kids named Macy and Maddy. He works for the United States postal service and does reviews on post offices all around North Carolina. The reason I chose my dad is because he always makes people smile and makes everyone's day better. He is one of the best people in my life and is always there for me. I hope you enjoy my essay on Wesley Isenhour.
Whitsett, North Carolina is a town that many have never heard of, yet it is my hometown. Situated in the Piedmont region of North Carolina, Whitsett is located directly between Greensboro and Burlington, North Carolina in eastern Guilford County. Having moved from a house located in the city limits of Greensboro, NC at the age of three, Whitsett is practically all I have ever known as “home.” My parents decided to move to Whitsett because they were able to find a larger and more suitable house with the arrival of my younger brother, Landon, in the year 1999. With almost 19 years having gone by, my family still lives in the same house today. Our house is located in the neighborhood development known as “Stoney Creek.” Importantly, this is the
“People can only be found in what they do.(1)” That’s what Timothy Findley believed in despite having health illness and dropping out of 10th grade. He found himself in writing as Timothy Findley “published eight more novels, three short-story collections, and two memoirs” (2) Impressive isn’t it? Timothy Irving Frederick Findley was a successful Canadian author with a victorious childhood, many accomplishments and contribution to Canadian literature throughout his life.
Daryl Ray White was born on October 27, 1966 in Saint Thomas, United States Virgin Islands. Rupert White, my grandfather, was an active duty member of the United States Air Force and therefore, my father experienced the military child lifestyle. Despite my grandfather and grandmother’s decent income, my father and his two younger sisters were exposed to the hardships of poverty. Although my father had many obstacles to overcome, he refused to give up on his aspirations for the future.
Cheyne Whitelaw’s massive season for North Sydney this year earned him a starting place in the Intrust Super Premiership NSW team of the year, which is another step closer to the NRL dream he so desperately longs to achieve.
Who is Adam Cullen, one might ask? Adam Cullen is a junior at Chino Hills High School. Recently, Adam started something that Chino Hills Husky students have never seen before. Adam introduced Smile Cards, something that he created, at Chino Hills High School. Smile Cards are paper cards that say, “ I love your SMILE” on them. Adam informed us that he liked the idea because they are a simple way for anyone to spread positivity and do not require a lot of effort or time. Adam got this idea one day when he was on Pinterest and saw a card that said “ Hey you’re attractive”” He then made one for his friend Hailey Angeles as a joke, but then automatically thought that it could be an awesome way to spread positivity, if he changed a couple words around.
Have you ever heard about a really good dirt track late model driver? Well let me talk to you about one that's really good. Scott Bloomquist is a late model driver and is known to be really good. Scott Bloomquist should be the best late model driver.
Bobby Eberle seems to bristle when you use the term gentleman driver. It isn’t so much that he is not a gentleman, and he is definitely a driver. “That term goes right up my spine, because that is not what I consider myself,” Bobby says. He just wants to be a race car driver. This year, the 48 year old driver has four top 10 finishes in 6 starts for JDC Motorsports in the Pro Mazda Championship. An engineer and a former nationally-ranked tennis player, his competitiveness combined well with some natural talent for driving and has led to success in the world of open wheel racing.
An artist has to make themselves distinguished by making their pieces interesting which grabs the eye of the audience. Tyrek has certainly made that happen in his artwork by showing scenes that a normal mind wouldn't imagine. Looking back at an artist's prior work and comparing it to newer work may be useful in getting a better understanding of the overall series. In this comparison I will point out surrealism, where the pieces are taking place, and the medium used to create the pieces. Now, let’s take a look at his newest piece to understand what is going on to make this compare and contrast more quality.
While it is unclear whether Smith had a target audience in mind, this memoir is especially beneficial for those aspiring to be artists. For those who do not have much background knowledge on art history and on important figures in the art world, some of the figures named throughout the book may draw a blank. However, that is no reason to shy away from the book as it is written in a way that is accessible to everyone. Similar to how different people will interpret the one painting in many different ways, this book can also be read and understood in more than one
I cannot believe that Brayden is already 17 years old! Time is flying by, and I am not prepared for him to leave for college. I have noticed that he has been sticking close to his peers lately. For the most part, Brayden has a couple of good friends and hangs out primarily with them, but he is not one of the most outgoing and popular people in his class. It has been like this since he was young. I leave decisions about friendships and relationships up to him. I do listen to him, but I do not try to push him to make any changes. Brayden’s social develop has been static throughout adolescence and his teenage years. He is still shy and quit, and he has a small amount of close friends. Apparently a couple months ago, Brayden got into an argument with a friend online. This caused Brayden to be on the outs with his friend. On top of this, he was the victim of cyberbullying. Because of this
It was my pleasure to look Motherwell’s artwork and explore deeper meaning to understand his artistic world through a flat canvas. Motherwell tried to create an image that can represent our world and people’s psychological mind toward to that surroundings in his own artistic way.
