Caitlyn Jenner, formally known as Bruce Jenner, is a good role model to the younger transgender society. Transgender people should be as accepted as everyone else is because so many people do not accept something that is not considered the 'norm'. She has increased visibility of transgender right and shows that you should be confident in who you are. Caitlyn Jenner has now given young transgender people somebody to relate to. These are some of the many reasons why Caitlyn Jenner is a good role model.
Bruce Jenner becoming Caitlyn Jenner definitely increased the opinions and views on transgender and civil rights. When Caitlyn Jenner was formally Bruce Jenner, stepfather to the Kardashians, he was extremely famous. There was no way that Caitlyn could reveal herself without attracting media attention. An already famous person changing their living style is huge in the media, causing lots of publicity and attraction to the topic of transgender rights. Yet it causes a lot of negative comments to be made on the subject and Caitlyn is very brave to change herself the way she did, showing why she is

Because of Caitlyn being a large media attraction it is hard for teens, whose everyday use is technology, to ignore what is happening on the internet. Caitlyn has raised awareness so others like herself have a chance to live a better life, with more empathy and less hate or negative comments towards them. Many young transgenders feel like it is wrong to be themselves because of the way society has trained them to think. Caitlyn Jenner is someone for all young transgenders to relate to, definitely making her a good role model as she is building confidence in not only transgenders, but anyone that feels like they are not accepted. A staggering 41% of transgender people have committed suicide in just the United States! That is a ridiculous amount of deaths all because of one
An outlier is somebody that is distant from the rest. A person that you may classify as unique from those who may be standard or parallel to everyone else. You may not see it however, surrounding us we are permeated with outliers. Kendall Jenner is an outlier of our time because she had work ethic, family, and opportunity.

Bruce Jenner was born on October 28, 1949 in Mount Kisco, New York. Bruce was the second of four children of William and Estelle Jenner. Bruce was diagnosed with dyslexia at a young age and always struggled in school, yet somehow always seemed to excelled at sports. Following high school, Bruce accepted a scholarship from Graceland College in Iowa for football. After he suffered a knee injury it restricted him to only playing either basketball or track, he then made the decision to switching over to running track and field. His coach then encouraged him to start training for the 1972 Olympics. Something I found interesting was that his father William Jenner had competed in the U.S. Army Olympics in Nuremberg, Germany, in 1945, and won a silver medal in the 100-yard dash. When Bruce competed in the 1972 decathlon in Munich Germany, Bruce placed third in the Olympic trials and tenth at the actual Munich Games. At the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal however, Bruce ended up winning a gold medal and broke a world record, scoring over 8,000 points in the decathlon.
America prides itself on being one of the most open-minded and tolerant nations in the world. In many cases, it is true. America does allow “the pursuit of happiness” for many, including other religions, immigrants, and, most recently, homosexuals with the passing of the Supreme Court decision which now allows gay marriage throughout the nation. However, when faced with transgenderism, America remains ignorant. A phobia against transgender people is prominent amongst the American people. This hatred and misunderstanding was evident during Bruce Jenner’s transition to Caitlyn Jenner. People took to name-calling, used transphobic slurs, and even refused to call Caitlyn Jenner by the pronoun she felt comfortable with. Due to this is a high-profile
There are a lot of people in the real world who are just ignorant about transgender people. We need someone to educate the world on this. An essay written by an 11-year-old transgender child named Sadie Croft has been circulating in social media, bringing its clear call for transgender equality to wider attention. The essay, titled "Sadie 's Dream for the World," envisions a time when the discrimination and stigma that transgender people face on a daily basis at every age will be over. Sadie writes, "It would be a better world if everyone knew that transgender people have the same hopes and dreams as everyone else. We like to make friends and want to go to school. Transgender people want to get good jobs and go to doctors like they are exactly the same. It really isn 't that hard to like transgender people because we are like everyone else" (Michelson, 2013). According to Huffington Post, Sadie began transitioning in kindergarten socially, and her moving words come on the heels of President Obama 's historic inauguration speech, in which he called for gay and lesbian people to be treated like anyone else under the law. It is so encouraging to see a transgender youth coming out at an earlier age and showing the world who she is. Her stories are piling up, and awareness is in the atmosphere. Sage has an awesome family, who supports her and gives an inspiration for other parents out there less ashamed of finding out their child is transgender. We still have a long way to go in
This paper provides one with a deeper insight into the life of the legendary, but
Throughout the years, she tried to hide the fact that she was a woman trapped in a man’s body, but eventually, that subsided. Gladwell stated: “But if you're taking on a powerful and organized establishment you have to be a hierarchy” (Gladwell 237). In other words, Gladwell is saying that in order to initiate a trend, it should be an individual who stands up for what he or she believes in, regardless of the cost. Caitlyn was a prime example of one who stands with bravery and took a risk, confessing to everyone the transition that was happening in her life. This courageous action influenced and touched the hearts of many people, allowing other transgender individuals to act freely and not hide his or her identity.
Caitlyn Jenner was given the Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly Awards (ESPY) Arthur Ashe Award for Courage. Twice an Olympic triathlon athlete, she blazed new trails. Long before her transformation, Jenner lived a life that her family and society expected of her: a loyal, loving son and father and an outstanding sportsman. Her newest role was as an advocate for the transgender community, which may become one of her greatest roles. Presently, Caitlyn Jenner’s purpose was to promote sexual diversity, accepting differences, and respect for all human beings. As I watched Jenner accept her award, I reflected back on my understanding of transgender orientation.
Caitlin Jenner is someone who has recently been in the spotlight as within the past year she had revealed that she was transgender. Growing up as an Olympic champion, Bruce Jenner was greatly looked up to, but is especially respected now for her courage in revealing her difficulties that had developed with being transgender. Always in the spotlight, it was truly difficult for Jenner as she never felt entirely like herself, but was too concerned with the thoughts of others especially the media, to reveal the truth. It is incredibly difficult for many who are transgender as society is often greatly disapproving, but is especially tough for people whose every move is on captured on camera, like Jenner. However, after recently revealing her story, she has become an instant inspiration to many and has recently received this year’s courage award. With today’s societal views this must have been extremely life changing, but with her story, Jenner has shown how listening to the music in which one hears is truly more important than conforming to what society wants everyone to believe. Jenner has paved way for many and is becoming a deep admiration. Without those like Jenner who take risks and listen to themselves rather than the others around them, society would never be able to evolve and
On June 1st, 2015, Bruce Jenner announced that he would now be known as Caitlyn Jenner, a woman. She said, “I'm so happy after such a long struggle to be living my true self. Welcome to the world, Caitlyn. Can't wait for you to get to know her/me” (“Caitlyn Jenner Biography.com”). That day, the world changed forever. When Bruce changed into Caitlyn, a large controversy arose. The debate on the right to become transgender is still discussed from two years ago when Bruce became Caitlyn. The reason behind why Caitlin's story turned into a big discussion is because when Caitlyn was a male, he was a famous athlete married to Kris Jenner. The transition was so unexpected and inspirational to a lot of people followed after her. The supporting argument
The American dream is most definitely attainable in the United States, present day. Mike Tyson is a man of great strength, he his best known for his gift of boxing; which is a symbol of America, strength. Mike Tyson was able to do things that people believed was impossible. With his skills he was able to go to the heavyweight world championship 4 times in a row. Some say that America can achieve the impossible such as the wars we fought, down to the Miracle US hockey olympic game beating the “Red Army”.
In the column, “From Caitlyn Jenner to Brooklyn High School” (June 11, 2015), Nicholas Kristof argues that as a society it’s easy to make the transgender controversy about which restrooms they would enter or what sport team they would play on; however, the real problem here is acceptance. Kristof supports his claim by first stating how few people view Caitlyn Jenner, a transgender woman, as an inspiring role model with the exception of Spencer and Joshua, then he explains how Spencer, a transgender man, faced many challenges (bullying, attempted suicide) until he entered the Academy for Young Writers, a school that accepted Spencer for who he really is, next Kristof introduces Joshua, who doesn’t identify as a boy or a girl yet, and also has
Do you feel that Mike Tyson’s actions are justifiable when he bit off a piece of Heavy-Weight Champion Evander Holyfield’s ear during a re-match in the late 1990s?
Caitlyn Jenner, formerly Bruce Jenner, who used to be a man, transitioned this spring to become a woman. This October, Caitlyn Jenner was honored as Glamour magazine’s Woman of The Year. She has faced many criticism ever since she has transitioned and got many more after receiving this particular award. Caitlyn transitioned because she felt as if she had lied to herself and the world. She had a big secret and did not want to live her life like this. She is now a happy transgender woman.
