Over the years bullying has been used as an attack mechanism to bring fear upon an individual. Bullying has been described in so many ways such as attacking someone mentally, physically, or emotionally (The Bullies page 17). It has been used to abuse power, psychological, behavior, or physical (The Bullies page 18). Every seven minutes a child or teen is bullied.  Bullying is like a disease it comes in many shapes and sizes, and it can spread really easy. The act of bullying is cowardly and wrong, but we must also have compassion for the bully who may be suffering themselves. God teaches us to love and respect each other. We can overcome bullying through education, tolerance and understanding and stopping bullying the first time we see it. Bullying thrives in silence and it is our responsibility to speak out against it. Bullying has become a major issue in the United States and around the world. What brought the attention to people about bullying is the number of suicides that are committed by adolescents and the stories they share online or live television. Bullying is categorized to be direct verbal, direct physical, and indirect forms. Not every person has an idea how terrible bullying can be and how harmful it is to the victim. Bullying has driven students to commit actions they have never done before such as cutting themselves, suicidal thoughts, health disorders, and bad behavior. Bullying must be taken seriously, because it results in negative effects on its victims and may drive students to commit horrific actions. Lawmakers should draft anti-bullying legislation, students should stand up for one another, and society should work out what can be done to combat this problem.

Bullying is progressively seen as a enormous problem in the United States and around the world and unfortunately for many, numerous research has started to prove that its consequences are real and can have long lasting impact for both victim and those who love them. Throughout or society Homosexuality is deemed unfavorable in religious and cultural circles of people in the United States. Most teens are bullied because of looks, body shape, and race. These things cause many issues, including; suicide, self harm, and even depression. Teenage bullying is a very common issue in the US. There are many types of bullying, including; cyber, physical, verbal, and so many more. It can cause so many issues and affect many people.

Munsey (2012) expresses bullying is experienced in schools daily by students; however, school-based sexual harassment of any kind has a greater effect on the health and welfare of a sexually harassed student. The sexually harassed student alienates themselves from their family, friends, think about quitting school, and possibly think about taking their life.

It is important to define the term bullying accurately because that term alone can be adversarial. With that being said it can mean intimidation, aggression, hostile behaviors, and pestering the weak. Bullying takes place in schools, work, and in your own home. It can pretty much happen anywhere. Bullying in my terms is anything that can make a person feel weak minded, and has to submit.

There are many different types of bullying which includes gender based, verbal, physical and cyber bullying. This is indeed the common types of bullying we hear about in our daily life. Those people who gets bullied and are suffering would do anything to stand up against it. However, at times their voices would not be heard because there are so many complaints. As a result, their depression level and suicidal level will surge dramatically.

Some people believe that bullying is only seen on television or in the movies but it is a real life issue that is seen and experienced by many every day. People of all ages, races, cultures and backgrounds are affected. There are some who are embarrassed to report bullying but it occurs every day, everywhere. It is important to learn about and understand what causes people to be bullies, as well as understand the effects that being bullied can have on a person.It is important for people to understand all sides of bullying, from the signs of someone being bullied to what you can do to prevent it.

If everyone does their part, bullying will become a thing of the past. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect and equality. “All men are created equal.” This is a quote from George Washington, the United State’s first president.
