Has football become a violent sport? I think it has gotten worse every time somebody plays. You could get serious injuries which could also be permanent! If your a coach you could get sued for somebody getting injured or hurt really bad. Some people could get memory loss, broken bones, concussions, and most importantly your grades could slip in school. Football might not be a good idea for a sport.
Football can do a lot of bad things to your body. You could be damaged all over and it may be permanent. Coaches could get sued for letting one of the players get hurt. If you get hurt really bad to where you lose your memory, you might not be able to do anything physically. Football may seen like a fun sport, but you also have to think about

Like I said before, your grades could get worse to where you want to be able to play sports. Many sports have kids off their game and not focussed on school work. Parents might or might not care about their childresn education at all. Your education is very important if you want to be something when you get older.
On November 6,1869 Walter Camp invented the sport football! I personally think that that wasn’t the best idea. Maybe people coul reduce their time playing football. The less people would get hurt or injured, and there would be less trips to the hospital. In Canada football is called gridiron, which is a pretty creative name. In Canada less people get hurt there while playing football. My guess is that they don’t play it that often for people to get hurt.
Some people love to play football and have fun with their friends. Maybe football isn’t a dangerous sport after all. I mean, people have armor to protect themselves from getting injured. If you are playing at school as a sport, your parents signed an gave the coach permission for your children to play. So, technically football isn’t that bad if your parents gave you permission and its something at school that you can play at home. Also, football is great exercise and something fun to do if your
I think that kids shouldn't play football because it is too dangerous. People get concussions every day when they play football. After repeatedly bashing their skulls football players get concussions, caused by the spongy tissue in the brain hitting the hard skull. It is very painful to get a concussion, and leaves permanent damage to the brain. As well as being excruciatingly painful, and possibly never being the same, with many issues. "In milder cases, athletes can be left with lifelong pain, memory lapses, aggression, depression, personality changes, and many other issues."(Shotz[11]). This sport just keeps getting more and more dangerous, manifesting on itself, becoming more and more brutal as players become more competitive. There are
Football is probably the toughest sport out there and can cause life threatening brain disease such as C.T.E otherwise known as chronic traumatic encephalopathy. Not only can a football player get this disease, but also a concussion and injuries. With many people playing football for either high school, college, or even the N.F.L there can be serious consequences to playing this sport. Football is rough, but I wouldn’t be against teens playing this sport during their high school years.
1,085,272 Students participated in high school football in the 2015-2016 school year. In high school football, a study shown that one in fourteen players will suffer from a head injury during their time playing (Burns). Another study shown that students are three times more likely to suffer from any type of injury than any other major sport. High school football is too dangerous of a sport for teenagers who are still growing mentally and physically. Football has and will continue being a very lethal sport for high school students. Not only is high school football lethal, but it takes away from time in the classroom, which means time away from learning. When reviewing the details of football and what it does to students on the field or in the classroom, you will never get a good outcome.
The essay that I have read in class emphasis about how dangerous of a sport football can be too high school students, to college students, and to professional N.F.L players. I have read multiple articles explaining to us how harmful playing football can be. Reading this article's made me think if playing football in high school and in colleges is fine. In my opinion, I do not think students should play football in high school because they have a higher risk of getting hurt. Above all, football is that that harmful to college and professional NFL players as it is too high school students. On the other hand, it is but since they've been playing for a long time they're used to it more than a regular high school student. When it comes to young boys playing football in high school, it could be a little more dangerous. Meaning that since most of the kids in high school are still between the ages of 15 through 18 their brains are still not fully developed. There are three reasons on why I don't think that high school students should not play football. My reasons would have to be because their brains are still not fully developed, they could get hurt and perhaps die, and because students don't have the right equipment to be playing.
Football is a very popular sport her in the U.S. The superbowls gets on average over one hundred million viewers on average. According to ESPN there is around 1.23 million youth kids from 6-16 playing American Football. It only takes 95 g's of force to cause a concussion to the human brain. And the average football hit is 105g force which is just mind boggling how parents will let their kids risk their whole adult hood over a simple game that in the long run won't give them nothing.
What is wrong with football? It is written in the pain on Greg Hadley 's face. The senior from Colgate University, a two-time all-conference linebacker on the school 's football team, is sitting in a Bedford, Massachusetts laboratory staring at shattered brains of dead football players (cite). Imagine a child on that football field and after that one devastating hit that made the crowd gasp in shock imagine that child being unable to get up. There are parents who had actually been through something as scary as their kids dying on the field. For as long as football has been a sport it has always had too many injuries inflicted on the players such as concussions, torn ligaments, twisted ankles, and popped out joints. The players can also suffer from the long term damages such as Chronic traumatic encephalopathy, dementia, and Parkinson 's Disease. Not only is it in professional football, it has also been in High School football, where young players are getting injured or dying, broken necks, and lacerated spleens. Football is dangerous because it causes too many injuries, long term damages, and young players are getting hurt or dying.
Football has been a part of some students lives making it special for them. Even though many love playing and watching the sport football is too dangerous to be played in high school, it leads to brain injuries, bodily injuries, and death. Nowadays, brain injuries to some might sound as the worst injuries to have. It’s even worse because football is starting with younger kids.
The main reason football should be banned is because of the high risk of receiving a concussion. A concussion is known as a brain injury caused by a bump, blow, or jolt to the head that disrupts the brain’s normal function. When receiving a serious strike to the head, the brain is violently shaken around, continuously bumping the skull. Football is a direct contact sport. The players are all at risk of getting tackled, whether it is during practices or games. Although most coaches and teams have certain regulations against tackling, players continue to go against these rules. According to the Head Case Company, an average of 33% of concussions in football occur during practices. The source also states
New research suggests playing contact football could harm some children. This news may make you think twice about enrolling your child in a football camp or allowing them to play on the school team. What about Flag Football? The problem with “traditional” football is the physicality of the sport.
Kids should not be able ti play football. It's to dangerous because football have more concussions than an other sports or activities. According to Jennifer Shortz, " Should Kids Play Football", in paragraph 10 states that "Football players all ages have suffered from permanent brain damage from repeated concussions even when they've given their brain time to heal". (pg.11). Most kids still play football with a concussion, thats not good for a child to have a concussion while playing football cause it can effect then very badly. Some of the football had concussions that can cause them to have bad memory loss. It may or may not recover with a concussion or suffer with mental issue, such as can't speaking correctly. It takes up to 3 to 4 months
Football is often labeled as a dangerous, unsafe sport, but there are many good things that come along with playing football. In the past two weeks I have learned about the risks that accompany football. Many kids suffer with concussions and face injuries from the sport, which scares many people away. But, despite the risks and the unsafe label, I would allow my child to play football because it promotes health, builds friendships, and helps gain toughness.
Vikram Chandamouli a seventh grader in Illinois says, “When your brain is bashed against your skull, it never fully recovers.” Amanda Vigdor said, “At many schools football is the hub of student life. Without football, there would be no school spirit.” 114.4 million people watched the super bowl last year and the college football national championship with 33.4 million viewers, which shows that a lot of people watch a normal regular season game. Last years NFL regular season reached 202.3 million viewers representing 80% of all televisions. NFL football has been around since 1920 whereas college football has been around for far much longer, so thinking about that. Now let’s look at injuries, Think about all the injuries since 1920 and earlier. A LOT! Out of athletes ages 5 to 14, 28% injuries are football, 25% injuries are baseball players, 22% injuries are soccer players, 15% injuries are basketball players, and 12% are softball players that were injured while playing sports. Despite the fact that football is a sport that you take risks of your life, that doesn’t mean you should ban football which also means you could be banning someone's life because that could be their passion and what they love to do and live for everyday.
During my ten years of football I have only experienced one serious injury. This year a torn MCL sidelined me for 4 weeks of the season. This is not uncommon for football players either. McEwen’s son, previously discussed with cracking his helmet, went on to play college football and only experienced one serious injury which did not even take place in football. It happened when he was throwing a Nerf football with a friend and he tripped over his helmet and broke his arm (Hannon 20+). This goes to show that injuries can take place at any time and taking away organized football would not solve that at all. Kids are going to play football no matter what so it might as well be in a controlled environment with responsible coaches and the proper equipment. Football is not even the most dangerous activity kids are doing. In a study commenced by the U.S. Product Safety Commission, it was found that relative to soccer there are 12% fewer injuries, 50% fewer than bike riding, and 74% fewer than skateboarding which is the most dangerous (Hannon 20+). Football has the latest and greatest technology in all of their equipment so it is not surprising that it is actually safer than these other activities. All kids are not being taught the proper way to tackle yet, but when that is taken care of, the numbers of injuries in football may drop even
Football is one of the most popular sports in America. The sport started in 1863 as a game between universities and became professional football in 1892. American football got its popularity in the universities and become one of its most popular games. Later, High Schools started to introduce the football game as well as a part of their sports. Since football became very popular, many teenagers try to get into the school teams, but not all of them were lucky to get into the teams. Football requires of strength, hard training and the courage to fight in order to keep the ball within the team, in consequence, it causes many accidents have happened since then; for example, broken ribs, legs, arms, etc. If players are not careful, they can ended up with a broken part of the body; therefore, the sport should be vanished from all high schools because of the risk outcomes. Football is a brutal sport and can lead teenagers to have a different attitude, and feel with a source of power over others causing bullying and other type of mental disorders.
Football is an exciting sport for the players and the ones who watch. While at the same time it is also actually dangerous. It is one of the remarkably unhealthy activities played in the United States. Nearly all of the people playing football have been injured before, even if it was undersized like a sprained leg or ankle. It will still eventually cause problems afterward in their lives.
