brothers placed bombs at the finish line of the Boston marathon; they killed three people and
injured 280 others. I believe in situation like these that a capital punishment sentence is
warranted because they hurt a lot of innocent people and because it was something that they
had been planning it for a long time. It could also give closer to the families that

Capital punishment, otherwise known as the death penalty, is a controversial subject which has been argued for decades due to the ethical decisions involved. People believe the death penalty is the right thing to do and that it is the perfect example of ‘justice’ while others believe that it is immoral and overly expensive. The death penalty is not a logical sentence for criminals, it doesn’t give them the right type of justice and it is immoral.
The topic of death penalty is highly controversial and debated on in American society. The death penalty has put many convicted murderers and criminals on the government. Using death sentence as a punishment for extreme crimes portrays America in a negative way. Although the death penalty brings justice to violent criminals, I argue that the death penalty is immoral and financially crippling the United States.

In fact, one may observe the use of the death penalty in modern society as one of the holdouts of ancient legal codes. Although many are opposed to the use of the death penalty, the debate over its use and legality continues to rage. One of the more high profile cases involving the use of the death penalty is in the case of convicted Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, who was sentenced to death for his role in the bombings in May 2015. Such a conviction, although it is extreme, is found to be justified under the law despite its retribution-like quality. The question of whether such laws and rulings are just will continue to be debated. In the interim, however, it appears that the death penalty will continue to exist as an option in many U.S. states. It is simply interesting to note how, despite the numerous advances in case law over the last several centuries, the concept of retribution and a punishment fitting a crime continues to exist to this day.
The death penalty is one of the most controversial forms of punishment in the United States criminal justice system. For many, the death penalty seems like a way to gain retribution, and to help make this country a better place, however there are many reasons why the death penalty is also not a good thing. My main points that I’m going to talk about for my paper is why I don’t believe in the death penalty. Throughout the paper the reader will be able to understand exactly what the death penalty is, the pros and cons of the death penalty, and eventually be able to depict for themselves whether the death penalty is “good” or not.
In the eyes of the victims and victims’ families, punishment is retributive justice. For most of the victims and their
The concept of retribution and justice should bestow to society. This is imperative for peace to be maintained and that justice is served. If criminals were allowed to get away with such a serious crime as taking a humans life fear and chaos would rule. Sentence for life in prison will not be substantial enough. The government must be trusted to protect its innocent citizens from further crimes.
On April 15th, 2013, two separate bombings occurred near the finish line of the Boston Marathon resulting in three deaths and approximately 264 injuries. Two Chechen brothers, Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, who were suspected of planting the devices were quickly hunted by thousands of law officials. Tamerlan was shot several times and pronounced dead at the scene. The younger brother, Dzhokhar, was eventually captured and was indicted on thirty charges relating to homegrown terrorism, including use of a weapon of mass destruction of property and death. He was found guilty on all charges on April 8th, 2015 and the following month was sentenced to death.
Despite all the pros and cons of capital punishment, society must think about what is truly correct and most practical for our world. Capital punishment is not functional in today’s legal system. There are countless amounts of evidence that proves these legal killings to be ineffective. We, as Americans, must correct this irrational practice before it does anymore permanent damage.
An issue that has continually created tension in today's society is whether the death penalty serves as a justified and valid form of punishment. Whenever the word "death penalty" comes up, extremists from both sides start yelling out their arguments. One side says deterrence, the other side says there's a potential of executing an innocent man; one says justice, retribution, and punishment; the other side says execution is murder. Crime is an evident part of society, and everyone is aware that something must be done about it. Most people know the threat of crime to their lives, but the question lies in the methods and action in which it should be dealt with. In several parts of
