Caravaggio I am writing about Caravaggio a famous artist in Rome. Caravaggio is known for his tenebrism technique that he used in his art. Caravaggio was known for getting in trouble by fighting a lot. He killed some on once and then not long after he fled Rome. Caravaggio has also painted a chapel. Caravaggio was born in Italy 1571 and died July 1610. Not a lot is known about Caravaggio. Most of his family was wiped out by the bubonic plague along with his father. When Caravaggio was eleven he moved to Milan and then later apprentice with a painter called Simone Peterzano. Caravaggio used the tenebrism technique the most because a lot of people liked it. He became an artist in 1592. One of the pieces of art work I'm going to
Tiziano Vecellio, better known as Titian, was the greatest Venetian artist of the sixteenth century, ultimately achieving global fame. He is famous above all for his incredible use of color and an amazing portraitist; his painterly method was highly influential well into the seventeenth century. Titian also was an important artist of the Italian Renaissance who painted works for Pope Paul III, King Philip II of Spain and Holy Roman Emperor Charles V. Titian developed as an artist in Venice as an apprentice in his teens. He was mentored by Sebastiano Zuccato, Giovanni Bellini, and Giorgione before adventuring out on his own. They were influential for his tonal style to painting and for his landscape smartness, which was impressive and reminiscent.
I am typing this paper over Michelangelo, one of the most famous artist ever! He had one of the greatest paintings called The Sixteen Chapels. I am going to tell you about the life he went through. Michelangelo was born on March 6, 1475 in Caprease, Italy. His father is Leonardo Di Buonarrota Simoni.
During the Baroque Ages a man by the name of Caravaggio was a very prominante artist,
Michelangelo also was an Italian artist. He lived from 1475 to 1564. Because he preferred to work alone, Michelangelo refused to have apprentices. Although one of his most famous works is the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, he preferred to sculpt. At age 23,
Caravaggio lived through a dark period of time. His behavior, however became more and more violent as he began to challenge the beauty of art. He becomes more and more of a murder and uses more dramatic composition heightening his view of the situation.
Titian (Tiziano Vecellio) was born in Pieve di Cadore, a small town at the foot of the Dolomites on the Venetian side of the Alps. The Vecellio's had been based in Cadore since the 14th century. Titian’s father, Gregorio, was a military man. His older brother Francesco was also a painter. There is still no documentary evidence of Titian’s exact date of birth, but contemporary sources and his early stylistic development suggest that he was born around 1490.
Michelangelo Buonarroti is a very well known artist from Italy and is know all over the world. He was more than just a painter he was a poet, sculptor, and architect. Michelangelo was born on March 6, 1475 to Francesca Neri and Leonardo di Buonarrota Simoni in Caprese, Italy. His family was in the banking business, he was born to the Florentine family of burgher nobility. Early in Michelangelo's life his mother became ill and he was places with a family of stonecutters. He loved going to a local church and watching the painters paint and drawing what he saw, that's where he grew his interest in painting. Michelangelo's friend from grammar school Francesco Granacci introduced him to a painter named Domenico Ghirlandaio.
In tenth grade, I was given the opportunity to travel to Italy for ten days. While I delighted my tastebuds with all kinds of Italian cuisine, my brain feasted on an abundance of knowledge presented in architecture, history, art, and inventions; most of which emerged during the Italian Renaissance. The Renaissance was a time period concerned with exploring the unknown, expressing creativity by means of art, and using imagination, as well as intellectual curiosity to create techniques and theories. For these reasons, if I were capable of traveling back in time, I would visit the time period of the Italian Renaissance.
Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio better known as simply Caravaggio was an Italian Baroque master painter born in Italy around 1571. After he apprenticed with a painter in Milan, he moved to Rome, where he lived for most of his life. His work influenced painters around Europe. He’s most known for his gruesome subjects and use of Tenebrism, which was a technique that used heavy shadow to
Therefore one of his grammar school friends Domenico Ghirlandaio realized this and introduced him to the painter Domenico Ghirlandaio, his father soon realized he had no interest in becoming a banker, therefore agreed to apprentice him to the fashionable Florentine painter's workshop. Only after a year Michelangelo was offered an extraordinary opportunity to study classical sculpture in the Medici gardens.Michelangelo fled to Bologna after the death of Lorenzo the Magnificent’s death, where he continued his study. In 1495 he moved back to Florence in 1495 to begin work as a sculptor, modeling his style after masterpieces of classical antiquity. In 1498 he moved to rome where he got commissioned by Jean Bilhères de La Graulas, a representative of the French King Charles VIII to the pope, where he did the statue pieta. Upon completion he moved back to Florence where he was now seen as a prominent figure in the art industry, soon after he moved back he started work on the statue of david. After this he really blew up getting asked to do works such as decorating the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel and the creation of adam. After a brief illness, Michelangelo in 1564, coincidentally he is one of the only artists during this time to see the popularity of his art during his lifetime. Even though these two have different ways of achieving the point they are today, there's
The Italian master was born in 1477 in Pieve di Cadore, Italy and died August 27, 1576, in Venice, Italy. According to the Encyclopedia of World Biography (EWB) he was either born in 1477 or in 1488 (both dates are given). Reportedly Titian (Tiziano Vecellio was his full name) began studying painting at the age of 9; he and his brother initially were learning in the workshop of mosaic artist Sebastiano Zuccati, but soon Titian had the opportunity study painting with Giovanni Ballini (EWB). Soon thereafter Titian collaborated with Ballini's brother Giorgione; the two worked on frescoes for the German Merchants' Exchange. It is said that the work of Titian and Giorgione was so similar that it was hard to tell them apart.
Michelangelo Merisi, or as otherwise known as Caravaggio, was a violent artistic genius from 17th century Italy who was known for revolutionizing the baroque and tenebrous technique and making it his own. He had managed to combine a realistic observation of the human state, both physically and emotionally, with a dramatic use of lighting that left an everlasting impression on the Baroque style, which today is known as ‘Caravaggism’ or ‘The Caravaggisti’. During his time, he was most controversial for his violent and sexual behavior which played a major role onto his paintings such as Sick Bacchus and The Beheading of Saint John the Baptist, making him the most unique of his time and probably for the rest of history too.
Until the late 19th century many biographers and art scholars deliberately ignored Caravaggio work. Some people felt as if his work was to natural or just ordinary. (Sayre, 2010) His work of art was characterized by displaying weakness or humankind. Sometime people had a difficult time trying to figure out if his painting was religious or not. In fact the contrast in his paintings between light and dark tones was evident in the spiritual content and its representation in the painting. (Sayre, 2010) Caravaggio became ill on a beach in Port Ercole. Caravaggio passed away July 18, 1610 after battling with malaria which he fought to overcome.
On March 6th, 1475 Leonardo di Buonarrota and Francesca Neri had their second out of five sons in the small village of Caprese, Italy. They named him Michelangelo di Lodovivo Buonarroti Simoni. But soon after being birthed Michelangelo moved to Florence, Italy with his family.
Caravaggio was an Italian painter born in Milan around 1571. He is considered one of the fathers of the modern painting. His father was called Fermo Merisi, who was an architect decorator and a household administrator. His mother was called Lucia Aratori and she came from one of the Propertified families in the region. In 1576, the family relocated to Caravaggio to escape the plague that devastated Milan. His father died in 1577 and the mother died in 1584 (Frank, 2013, p. 292). Caravaggio remained an orphan at 11 years of age and he was apprenticed in Milan. When he later went to Rome, his work became accepted due to the technique of tenebrism he used which involved the use of shadow for
