After researching many nursing careers there are three that are stick out. Although salary is a big deal today, one must be aware of the specifics of a job to make sure they enjoy the job. Three interesting nursing careers are nurse educator, traveling nurse and a pediatric nurse.
When thinking of a nurse educator, the name is self-explanatory. As explained in (“15 Highest Paying Nursing Careers [Infographic]”, 2017) a nurse educator is someone who has experiences in nursing, and has obtained a minimum of a master’s degree in nursing. Depending on where one is going to work some work places require a doctorates degree, but others do not. A traveling nurse will usually be send to a different place for about 13 weeks to work. If a nurse is sent out of the country, they are usually send for a year or two. While being able to travel a traveling nurse also can choose their jobs, meaning they can deny offers. A traveling nurse usually works for an agency and the agency sets everything into place for the nurse. They find them jobs and there living in the area. A traveling nurse is usually hired because there is a lack of nurses today. If a certain hospital or specialties needs a nurse, they will hire a traveling nurse for the time they need them. A traveling nurse then has the same job as a normal nurse. They are able to do basic patient checkup like checking patient history and vitals. They are also able to talk about treatments with patients and make diagnosis. These are only a few of the things that they can do. In addition to so many perks when working with an agency for a while, they in most education can pay for ones continuing education. To become a traveling nurse on must have their ASN or BSN at minimum and a RN license. Also, it is advised that one has up to 2 years of nursing experiences.
