In the 2014 book, The Israeli Solution: A One State Plan for Peace in the Middle East, Caroline B. Glick, an American-Israeli journalist and author, examines Israeli administration of the contested territories known as Judea and Samaria - also know as the West Bank - since the 1967 Arab-Israeli war. The popular ‘two-state solution,’ she illustrates is indeed practically infeasible. Between Israeli strategic considerations, and issues in communication between Israeli and PLO representatives, the likelihood of compromise seems small. If nothing else, the last twenty-eight years (1988-2016) of fruitless negotiations reinforce her disillusion with the ‘two-state solution.’ In addition, her appeal to data to prove that Israeli rule of the Arab population has had beneficial socio-economic effects in Judea and Samaria is extremely effective. In Part II, Glick brings forth data that proves that there is a correlation between Israeli control and standard of living improvement among the Arab populations of Judea and Samaria. Since these communities fell under the Palestinian Authority after the Oslo Accords of the mid 1990s, these standards either plateaued or fell. The first premise essentially accuses the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) to have grossly inflated the number of Arabs living in Judea and Samaria. The strategic inflation of population is comparable to the PA Ministry of Health that had strategically inflated causality rates in the past (see Operation Protective Shield in 2002). The objective her would be to gain political capital, as well as to demonstrate to Israeli policy-makers that the annexation of Judea and Samaria would destroy the sensitive Jewish majority of the State of Israel. According to the research conducted by the American-Israeli group, the PCBS had inflated the Arab population of Judea and Samaria to 2.42 million. In contrast, the AIDRG concluded that only 1.41 million Arabs lived in Judea and Samaria. Here, Glick argues that the fact that 1.01 million fewer Arabs lived in Judea and Samaria means that Israeli annexation would not mean the end of the demographic integrity of the Jewish State.
