Memorandum
Once entering the court room, I noticed there was a judge, a court reporter, a clerk, and a bailiff Jury, the defendant and the attorneys representing the plaintiff and the defendant. The plaintiff was not at the trail case. There were about five spectators in the court room.
Facts about the case: The plaintiff Ethan was stopped by police on the corner of Wetmore from obvious knife injuries. They called an ambulance and followed Ethan to Providence hospital. Ethan had a U-shaped cut on his neck and the top of his head.
Entering the court, I was walking into the attorney representing the defendants case in chief. The defendant was facing a charge for 2nd degree assault with a deadly weapon. The attorney representing Amanda, never once mentioned her using a deadly weapon. The attorney rebuttal by using evidence that Amanda used the deadly weapon, a Knife for self-defense of the plaintiff Ethan who was entering her apartment without permission. The defendant told the law enforcement that she had never “seen him like this before” and that she was fearful for her safety because how violent the plaintiff was acting and by him pounding on the apartment door. The reason for Ethan’s two stab wounds were from Amanda trying to protect herself from the plaintiff attacking her. Amanda stated that she couldn’t see how she stabbed him because he threw her forward and she was on the ground. The defense Attorney concluded that Ethan’s stories were inconsistent
I feel that this case was somewhat representative of what was discussed in the textbook. The forensics aspects of this case were generally different from the impression of forensics I received from reading the textbook. Despite this fact, I feel that the investigative techniques of this case were similar to what was discussed in the textbook, as well as what has been discussed during lecture.

I attended the District Court at 201 West Picacho Ave on March 7, 2011. I sat in on judge Mike Murphy's court. Judge Murphy started court promptly at 9:00 a.m. but before I got into the court I had to wait in a long line of about 30 people. then when I finally got to the court house door I had to go through a metal detector where I had to take off my belt and shoes and everything metal on my persons. Then I asked one of the officers working the metal dictator how I could ask to sit in on a criminal court that was going on this morning. She then directed me to court room four. I asked the bailiff if it was ok for me to sit in on court today for my criminal justice class, and if the case where criminal matters. The bailiff then told me that
Everyone was subjected to security including the lawyers and employees of the court house. Everyone was either in some type of uniform or dressed extremely formal, even if they were just spectators. Few people were in the court room, but not many. The judge, lawyers and people that were being represented had not still entered the building. Moments later the plaintiff, Dawn-Evans Donahue, and the defendant Joseph Donahue with their lawyers Michael Morris and John M. Makowski, entered the court room. They had taken their place on each of the court room to make their cases in front of the judge. The bailiff then told us to all rise for their entrance of Judge Polansky. We all rose and took our seats. The court had now been set in motion for deliberation. The judge was wearing the standard gown that is portrayed in films and in real life, there was no jury because this was not a trial court, this was a family matters case.
The prosecution works to get their guilty verdict while the defense tries to help their clients with their verdicts. In court I listen to both sides argue the Innocence/Guilt of the young woman in question wanted on DWI charges. The honorable judge Pauline Hankins presides over the court and waits patiently for all the evidence to be presented. The prosecution and the defense are set on opposite sides of the courtroom while the jury box and the belief are set next to the judge. Judge Pauline Hankins is in the middle of the courtroom in front of the North Carolina State seal with an office on the right next to the witness stand. Everything that has been said in the court is added to the court record. The court record is a detailed document
The defendant was involved in a fight in which he inflicted a deep cut on the victim's finger. The victim failed to take care of the wound or get medical assistance and the wound became infected. Eventually gangrene set in and the victim was advised to have his arm amputated. The victim refused and died. The defendant was liable for his death despite the victim's actions in contributing to his own death.
While the courtroom was relatively small in size, the front of the room featured a table for the prosecution team, along with two separate podiums, stationed just before the judge’s bench. The room also featured a juror’s box; however, no jury was present for the duration of Tran’s court session. To the viewer’s right of the judge’s bench, a team of court officials were seated, while a witness stand was positioned to the viewer’s left of the judge’s bench. Two bailiffs were positioned to both the left and right of the judge’s bench. In the empty juror’s box, additional court officials, including law enforcement officers, were
Plaintiff Brian Martin attended a high school graduation party hosted by Defendant Lee Martin. The majority of guests were between the ages of seventeen and twenty. There were two kegs of beer available at the party, as well as other alcohol provided by the guests. One guest, Matthew Marciano, had a history with Mr. Martin. During the party, a fight ensued between Marciano and the plaintiff’s friends. Marciano left the property, but later returned with Chijoke Okere, who was carrying a baseball bat. Okere struck Mr. Martin on the head. The defendant went inside her house and locked the door, refusing entry to those who were trying to help the plaintiff. Mr. Martin suffered considerable brain damage from the injury.
Both the client, Lillie Bonifant and the defendant, Joe Roper, are student athletes at Justice City University (JCU). Ms. Bonifant, who is a diver for the university, did not do well on her final dive at the school’s swim tournament. Ms. Bonifant friend’s took her out on the night of the altercation with hopes of trying to cheer her up. On March 14, 2015, Bonifant and her friends arrived at the Lonely Turtle at approximately 10:00pm. Mr. Roper and his friends arrived at the Lonely Turtle shortly before 10:30. Mr. Roper was in a good mood that night since he found out that he received an internship for the summer.
ON 09-03-2016 at 0930 hours, I was notified by Sgt Kelley of an aggravated battery which occurred at 2111 Roanoke Springs Drive. I was advised to respond to St. Joseph’s Hospital (South) at 6901 Simmons Loop in Riverview. Upon my arrival, I met with Sgt. Kelley, Deputy Karpenske # 249578 and Crime Scene Tech Dewitt. There was a black 2013 Nissan Maxima bearing Florida tag, DGV F36, parked in the emergency room parking bay. I learned the suspect, Joanna Lebrea Lewis had driven the car to the hospital for treatment of the injuries sustained during the offense. It was learned that verbal consent had been obtained from both the victim and suspect to search their residence and vehicle. It was also learned the victim, Marieio Denod Spradley,
In the past, the booming economy had allowed for year to year increase in their sales because people had larger discretionary incomes. But due to the recession, smaller independent retailers had to markdown their items in order to stay in business because designer outlet stores are getting more traffic; so will Harry Rosen follow in suit? Or in order to maintain the integrity of the quality products they offer, will they continue their higher pricing and settle for a lower market share?
For the mock trial I was assigned to be one of the prosecuting attorneys. After being presented with case materials which included facts of the case, statements from both prosecuting and defense witnesses, penal code for the alleged charges, and map of the crime scene, we as a group decided to create one Google Drive document. There we would upload our parts of the case and help other group members with their assignments.
