We believe that newcomer Syrians, children and adults, with disabilities and special needs should be provided with services designed to meet their individual need to become contributing citizens now and in the future. SCFS have identified 2 groups with different disabilities. Group 1. Newcomer Syrian with disabilities are in real need to use assistive technologies, which are software and hardware that people with disabilities use to improve interaction with life situations. These people can be employee if they find the right training. Group 2: Many Syrians who have disabilities are skilled who are carpenters, drywall hangers, painters, and plumbers. These people they need to be upgraded to Canadian standard to be marketable and find employment.
For my project I have chosen to compose a training guide for managers which provides them with information and skills necessary in order to recognize, empower and accommodate people with disabilities I believe that many people who are disabled and unemployed may want to work but may feel marginalized and like there is no place for them in the workforce. “People with a disability are among the most marginalized groups in the world, having poorer state of health, lower education achievements, less economic participation and higher rates of poverty than people without disabilities” (“The marginalized Billion”, 2013). I am writing this letter to you because I believe that the Syrian Refugee Crisis needs to be added to the grade ten Canadian History Since World War One course.
Imagine not being able to go to school because of a war or conflicts that happened years ago. Border countries of Syria are giving the students a chance to an education, but not with all the supplies needed. This isn’t exactly what the kids wanted so they are fleeing to Europe. Other places should open their schools to Syrian students, because they need to see what a exceptional education, with enough resources will do for them.
The world today is filled with intolerance. The news has stories of people fighting each other all over the world. I see this intolerance within my community and sometimes within my own high school. Everyone seems to band together in small groups of friends who think, act, and dress alike, not wanting to include others. Of course cliques are not a new part of the high school experience but in the world of today we can not afford to judge and exclude others.
Philanthropy and volunteerism are embedded in our Syrian heritage. The family-oriented system is prevalent in our Syrian culture, and for that we are all responsible for the wellbeing of the entire community. Many of the things that we do to simply help our families, our friends, and our communities are considered volunteering or paid jobs by Western standards. We in the U.S are very fortunate, and we sometimes forget that there are many people who need guidance that we are capable of giving. In 1886 the French gave America the Statue of Liberty, Lady Liberty’s light and ever since then been a welcoming sight for people fleeing their oppressive countries, but with the growing influx of immigrants into America, the process for acceptance into the country has become stricter and the American people have become anxious about allowing more people in due to the fear of terrorism. The country of Syria has been locked in a Civil War since 2011, threatening the lives of the almost 22 million people that lived there. Since the war began Syrians have fled by the millions out of the country, reducing the population to 18 million residents. The majority of these refugees have sought

Through the promotion of a range of support, Schools and colleges can raise the aspirations of learners with SEN and disabilities. According to the Equality Act 2010, education providers and employers have a duty to ensure the inclusion for the SEN learner in the workplace. Reasonable adjustments must be in place; to ensure that the employee with SEN has the same accessibility in the workplace as typically developing employee. If the employee with SEN is at a disadvantage, there are three requirements that must be available to be put into place. The requirement to change policies within the workplace; the requirement to overcome barriers to access by physical features, for example, entrance ramps; and lastly the requirement to provide additional equipment.
The American way of helping those in need has been lost in the midst of terrorist attacks in a foreign country. The denying of Syrian refugees from coming into the United States has marked the decline of our hospitable ways. We are so fearful of a terrorist attack that the majority of Americans have went against the American way of helping by denying Syrian refugees access to the United States in their time of great need.

A person with a disability, or handicap, can be defined as someone with a physical or mental impairment, which has a substantial or long-term adverse affect on his or her ability to carry out normal day-to-day activities (Employment 2). Handicap workers face many challenges in the work place that the average person overlooks. Also, many special arrangements and alterations have been made to the workplace for people with handicaps. Accessibility, transportation, workload, and salary are just some of the many issues that must be considered with the prospect of employing the handicap.
