One of the major challeges India faces is that of diabetes, a disease that has plagued all sections of the society and is growing at an alarming rate of 3.6%. Abbott is addressing this problem by providing state of art technology for screening the sugar levels and HBA1c testing in laboratories and hospials all over the country.
Malnutrition and poverty have affected over 200 million people in India and to address this issue the Abbott Fund has provided a 3 year 1.5 million dollar grant to PATH to help the cultivation of rice .
