Hi, I hope you are having a good day. I am emailing because I have Matthew Snyder in Algebra and his grade is starting to fall very fast. Matthew is a very bright student; however, recently he has been refusing to come in to class. Today, like other days, Matthew decided he would just sit in the hallway during class. On the days that he chooses to come to class he becomes a distraction to his peers. His current grade is a 61% D- in the class. My conversations with him about what happens if he fails seem to be going no where. So I'd love to get some advise from you about how to get him motivated and back on track. Its not too late for him to bring his grade up, but if he fails he'll have to retake this class for an entire year next year. Please
After reviewing the classroom case study of 10 year old Jimmy who is a fifth grader having issues academically succeeding in school. His teacher Ms. Merkle believes he has the ability to succeed, but needs some help with staying focused and on task.
For a long time, I've been struggling with my grades and keeping up with my school work. In middle school, I had a lot of low grades and did not truly seem to care. My mom decided to assign me to a tutor every week to help bring my grades up, until halfway through my freshman year when I stopped due to the fact I didn't need the tutoring anymore. I was told that I was doing well enough that I could handle it on my own, which motivated me to start working diligently on my own. I was an average student at that point, I had mostly A's and B's with a C or two, but I hoped to prove that I could do more. I had to find a new way of dealing with my study and learning habits in order to efficiently work hard and achieve the grades I desired. My goal
Yanni is a 9th grade student who has difficulty keeping up with classmates of the same age in a developmentally appropriate learning environment. Yanni has extreme difficulty with comprehending what he reads. Since he doesn 't monitor his comprehension when he reads, he doesn 't recognize when he is "getting it" and when he is not. He works at a much slower pace than other students and requires extra time to complete certain tasks; he never forgets to do his homework and has no difficulty with planning. Yanni has a hard time remembering information - memorizing is very difficult for him. This leads to poor recall of facts, as well. Yanni prefers math to ELA. However, he continues to need encouragement in math. He often gets confused in math and cannot communicate his thinking. His basic math facts are not yet in
He lost the aide that used to help him in his classes, which causes him a lot of anxiety because he no longer has that extra support in the classroom, so I will be giving him encouragement and support the best that I can. He still has very good grades even though his aide is no longer with him. I will also continue to assess his behaviors with the others that work with him such as the mental health specialist, his social skills teacher, and his emotional support teacher. These individuals know Aaron pretty well and are also able to understand his behaviors so they are the perfect people to talk to. They are able to see him in situations that cause him stress and talk with him about it. They can help me identify different behaviors they are seeing in him and what situations are causing him to feel anxious or more

Firstly, my brother has been really focused in school. Ethan has great grades, and these are the reasons why. To start off with, he has been studying a lot and has asked me and a few other people to help him study like quizzing him on a
Today we focused on organizing Nathan's notebook, completing an ELA worksheet, and reading and taking notes from his book, Maniac Magee. Nathan did fairly well today, and stayed on task long enough to complete the assignments that I asked him to do. I saw several of his grades today from ELA, and his teacher commented that she had a hard time reading his handwriting. I was glad to hear that he got a good score on his science test, and I told Nathan that he should be happy with the grade. He does have a ways to go, but it doesn't hurt to give praise when it's due. I am concerned though about his reading and handwriting skills. His handwriting is difficult to read, and he also struggles with spelling which makes his writing a challenge to understand
My son, Kalup Cook is in your 1st-period marketing class. Despite his grade, Kalup is struggling academically. For instance, throughout the past couple of months we have noticed that he has a substantial problem completing assignments on time, processing information provided,
On second thought, math teacher, I think Hal should probably take summer school because I just saw him in the hall with a soccer jersey on, that must mean he isn't going to focus on math.I came the first time because I thought he was going to focus on math, but he is not. I think he needs help in some areas, so i think he should go to summer school. While in summer school if he doesn't do well on the assignments you should keep going over it more and more so he can understand. If you keep going over it he will get the hang of it then you can realease him. You should also assign homework every night, so he can get better and better. If he doesn't turn his homework in you should make him stay after school to complete it. Hal is my good friend
She coul motivate him by special sticers or extra points after the lesson if he keeps the rules.
Similarly, Sam is another student who lacks motivation in his learning. Sam is currently on a individualized program plan and has been diagnosed with having ADHD. Throughout my observations I noticed that Sam generally portrayed a low self-esteem which resulted in his inadequate educational achievements. In addition, Sam constantly has organizational problems and dislikes school.Sam has a tendency to forget his school work, so my mentor teacher has given him a space in the classroom where he can store his supplies. Additionally, Sam seems to have trouble completing work, makes careless mistakes and is easily distracted. For example, during instructional time Sam has a tendency to be easily distracted, thus, interrupting the class. Sam usually
I have a 13 year old boy at school by the name of Cory and he is finishing up his 7th grade year. Cory is a very nice and respectable young man but all year has struggled to stay on task and turn work assignments in on time. Cory’s mother has to come to the school periodically to help him clean out his locker and at home clean out his back pack to find some of Cory’s missing assignments. Cory has been having a hard time in school with his peers and some of his teachers. His friends thinks that most of the time Cory is being annoying and his teachers complain that he cannot stay on task, does not listen and talks too much. The teachers have spoken to Cory’s parents on several occasions to try to come up with solutions to the problem but so far no success with any long term changes.
Regards the previous email, I was thinking about Aaron’s upcoming IEP, and the planning for the next year. That’s why I discussed the unnecessity to pull him out of the class for next year.
Matt and I met today. We went over his classes and made sure that he knows the deadlines for his coming assignments. Thus far, Matt has made a good progress on most of his classes; however, PLB 115 is a class, for which Matt needs support. His current grade is 191.5/290 66.03% D. His next PLB 115 test is scheduled for Thursday, November 9th. Matt said he will be better prepared for this test than for his last one. I advise him to work with a tutor to prepare for this test; Matt said that he would.
