Erin Wade is chief executive of Homeroom, a restaurant. Recently she had gotten multiple emails from her staff about harassment. Apparently there had been multiple counts of harassment against female employees, but Wade had never heard of them because the complaints were shut down by male managers. Wade was shocked to hear about this and decided to create a color coded system for reporting incidents. The system has since decreased harassment drastically. Wade advocates for more news stories with solutions to harassment problems rather than publishing even more redundant articles that focus on the harassers and how their lives are changed. SID, or Sudden Infant Death, has previously thought to be random. Recently a study has been published showing a link between a idiosyncratic genetic mutation that affects very few people and SID. SCN4A showed up in 4 of 278 babies whose death was caused by SID. The mutation is rare and could possibly contribute to SID. A man killed two people, the parents of his ex-girlfriend. After days of not hearing anything she contacted her doctor and was told to take the tests again, everything was back to normal. Had she been contacted over the phone to receive the test results a medical professional could have explained them too her, but she gets the results online. Getting test results online allows for 24/7 access but now consultation with doctors, or way to explain the seemingly bombast language. The use of online reports results in patients being the first to know of possibly harmful or harmless results, with complicated jargon and no way of telling the difference. Both patients and doctors themselves have shocking encounters with online
