Tuscarawas County, DISCUSSION: Orvis Campbell explained the Tuscarawas County Drug Task Force was funded by contributions of entities within Tuscarawas County. The Multi-County Drug Task Force (MCDTF) includes Tuscarawas, Carroll, Holmes, and Harrison Counties and received a small grant for this year from the State of Ohio. They will be funded on a larger scale next year through the Office of Criminal Justice Services and the Drug Task Force Fund. The State did not want (2) two drug task forces so Tuscarawas County had to eliminate one and they decided to eliminate the Tuscarawas County Drug Task Force. I do think the funds are being sent to the right places. Various places are receiving funds to bring awareness and prevent substance abuse and overdose. Prevention includes media campaigns, print materials, and training programs. For individuals who need help with their recovery, funds are being placed for case management services, support group meetings, activities, and recovery educations for high school age youth. The department personnel are working to provide structured environments for individuals to fully benefit from the services provided. The task force provides education on substance use and the effects and risks it causes. Funds are also going to relapse prevention and counseling services.
According to the National Association of Drug Court Professionals (NADCP), 1 out of every 100 people in the United States has been incarcerated (“The Facts on Drugs,” n.d.). Substance abuse is partly to blame. Approximately 60 percent of prison inmates had a positive drug test when they were arrested (National Institute of Justice, 1999). A judge supervises community family drug courts and assists non-violent parents with drug related issues while still holding them accountable for their crimes. Drug courts are
A guardianship action’s proper venue is the county in which the ward, Walter, resides. Harry and Wanda are residents of Fort Bend County, Texas. Walter is their 13-year old son. Walter resides in Fort Bend County; therefore, the action should be filed there.
The NADCP was formed from the original drug court professionals who gathered to advocate the effectiveness of the drug court model and to work with future drug court team members across the country in providing the guidance needed to formulate an effective model (Webster, 2015). Under OJP funding, it established Drug Court Clearinghouse and Technical Assistance Project (DCCTAP) in 1995 to aid in planning, implementation, and assessments of drug courts (Webster, 2015). In cooperation between NADCP and DCCTAP, both organizations convened in a committee to develop a set of principles or components for drug court to adopt. The report: Defining Drug Courts: The Key Components, provides a framework for each individual jurisdictions in implementing its drug court program based on 10 key components of a drug court and provide a performance benchmark for each of the 10 components (NADCP, 1995; Saum & Hiller,

Southwest Florida is different from New York City in almost every aspect we are an area of smaller cities. For example, the population of New York City is estimated to be 8,550,405. I live in Naples, Florida and the population of Collier County is around 339,642. The difference in the population alone shifts how law enforcement is able to approach policing. The population of Collier County allows the police to have more interactions with the citizens that aren’t involving investigations or traffic stops. They are able to reach the community and form a better bond with the members forming trust throughout the community.
Judge Nelson’s retirement in Berrien County has created a vacancy that you will have to fill over the next few months. I would like to personally recommend Stephen Smith, J.D. for the position. He is an excellent and well-qualified candidate who has served as a lawyer both in the Washington D.C. area and the Berrien County area for almost two decades. Furthermore, he has many prestigious accomplishments, including graduating magna cum laude, and being recognized as one of the top construction attorneys in the Washington D.C. area, which is no easy feat.

The effectiveness of criminal justice regulations on all controlled substance has been effective so far. Although, there are still some lapses engaged in this situation, but so far it’s something to be considered and continue to work on. Since 1984 when Congress passed crime legislation (Comprehensive Crime Control Act of 1984; Title II of P.L. 98-473)53 (Clear, Cole & Reisig 2013), that among other things, enhanced penalties for CSA violations and amended the CSA to establish general criminal forfeiture provisions for certain felony drug violations. Even though numbers of prisoners keep increasing, but drug abused fellows and companies, and individuals involved have been completely reduced to a barest minimum level.
Ramsey County, Minnesota has reformed the welfare to work process, because they saw a need to be more focused on the needs of the clients. They realized that the barriers welfare recipients faced were more complex than the current system could measurably handle.
